Citizen Canine Pet Care

I was recommended by one of my closest friends and couldn’t be more happy with my experience! Every time Diana comes to pick up Charlie (my 11 month old lab) for a walk or I come home after she pet sits, Charlie is always so excited and happy. You can really tell Diana loves what she does. Diana has also been very accommodating with my sometimes crazy schedule or when I’ve needed to go out of town for work last minute. I would absolutely recommend Citizen Canine if you’re looking for someone to love and care for your pet like you do!

My boyfriend and I were going out of town for Memorial Day weekend and my friend who usually pet sits for us was busy so we were at a loss for who would watch our tortoise, Heavy D. (Yes, I said tortoise, and I do realize I am reviewing a company with the word «canine» in their name.) We had seen the Citizen Canine flyers around our neighborhood and hoping that pet sitting included tortoises, I gave them a call. I left a voicemail and Diana called me back a few minutes later. She said she was willing to pet sit our tortoise and the price was right so we arranged a meeting. She arrived on time and was wonderfully warm and patiently listened to my long stories about Heavy D’s escape attempts. (I talk a lot!) I felt really comfortable having her come over and feed Heavy D while we were away. She sent me an email after the first day and left a wonderful thank you card on our counter. When we returned, Heavy D was active and totally oblivious to the fact that we’d been gone for so long! We had a package delivered while we were out and Diana even brought that inside for us which was an added bonus! I would totally hire her again!

Diana was great with our dog Rylee! My wife and I left town for just a short getaway and Rylee was well taken care of while we were gone. She was super happy while she was there and we’ll be sure to book again! Highly recommend!

Hubby and I had to take a trip out to Chicago and didn’t know what to do with our new cat Axle! Axle was found on the streets, in a car engine, trying to stay warm and we had just adopted her a few months prior. I contacted Diana and Citizen Canine last-​minute, in a bit of a panic because I was uneasy of leaving Axle alone and with a stranger.
Diana was a Godsend. She asked me questions beforehand that I didn’t even think about bringing up, like if Axle was an independent or needy cat. She really knows her stuff. She sent me a picture of Axle while we were gone, which really put me at ease. Everything went smoothly and we were beyond satisfied with the service.
Would definitely recommend and use again!

Diana was amazing! She took such great care of our two cats when we went out of town for a couple weeks. She was very professional and responsive to any concerns or questions we had while we were out. She truly has a passion for animals and is by far the most trustworthy person I have ever hired to take care of my pets. Plus her rates are awesome. Would recommend to anyone needing someone to take care of their pets short or long term.

I have never used a pet sitting service before but after hearing excellent feedback from a friend, I decided to try out Citizen Canine to take care of my morkie, Dexter when I left for a weeklong trip to Seattle.
When I went to drop Dexter off, Diana took the time to ask me about Dexter preferences and personality quirks. I appreciate that she took the time to ask questions and it gave me a peace of mind that she had all of my information in case something happened while we were away. Dexter took to Diana almost right away which was a good sign because he tends to be very cautious and usually hide or at least act stand-​offish around strangers.
While I was on my trip, Diana would send me daily updates with photos to let me know Dexter was doing ok. By the time the week was over, Dexter was very comfortable around her and seemed very content when I arrived home.
I am very glad I went with a pet sitting service instead of having my dog stay at a pet hotel. It was much less stressful experience for both my dog and myself. I would definitely recommend Diana and Citizen Canine to anyone who needs their pet or home looked after while they are away. Amazing rates and a passion for animals that can’t be beat. You’ll know your animals are in good hands!!!
