Courtyard Phoenix Chandler

We booked this hotel thru hotels «dot com» so we didn’t know what to expect. The rate was EXCEPTIONAL for a Friday and Saturday night. The hotel is close to the freeway but we didnt hear any traffic.
The décor was very modern and smells fresh
Clean rooms– I appreciate white linens
The bath/​shower was clean
Starbucks in lobby w/​limited selection
Close to dining options
Staff SUPER helpful & friendly
Honored my request for fridge in room
No parking issues
I love the Paul Mitchell travel hair supplies
Only negatives were the bath water pours generously from spout (not the problem) but the drain is slow so I’d stand in the water to my ankles which I don’t like.
And the a/​c was rather loud but I’m grateful for a/​c here in Phoenix!
I will go out of my way to stay here again.
EXCELLENT establishment

From the minute I made my first phone call there Tia at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. She was so polite and professional on the phone even though they were so busy. I called at 8am after my long drive from San Diego to see if I could check in early (I was tired). She not only was answering the phones but checking people in and out and dealing with a sold out property from the night before.
I could list everything that she did to go beyond her call of duty but I will just say. She always smiled, always greeted me, always made sure everything was perfect AND she even offered to bring me my room key to the pool when my room was ready! Wow! I worked for Marriott years ago and I wasn’t even that nice!!!
I believe Tia said she is new the the team but I see great things in store for her and the Marriott chain.
Customer service and the front desk is everyone’s first point of contact when they check in and to have someone like Tia there will definitely make people become regulars!
Give her a raise!

The carpet in our room had stains on it and the bathroom was dirty. No fridge, the AC didn’t work properly. Will not be staying at this hotel again. Room rates way to high. We formally complained when we got home and we were treated with disregard.

This place was great! Their customer service is wonderful, especially the people at the front desk. Every employee that we encountered had a smile on their face and started a conversation with us. The room was a little larger than average, we had a room with 2 queen beds. The beds were so comfortable and the pillows were so fluffy that I was suffocating at night lol. Our room were cleaned once a day. The noise level was low and the other people, who booked the hotel, were friendly. Overall, I would come back here, the customer service was just great.

Leslie in the Bistro and Cory at the Frontdesk took care of us on our girls week. It was clean and very well organized. We were over joyed with their presence and professionalism. We would come back!

This place was great! clean (room, lobby.), good location (restaurants and shops in walking distance) this hotel is actually part of a shopping plaza. I will definitely return again with my family.

Hotel is nice. But upon check out, I transferred my incidental charges to my personal Visa card. I got home to find my Amex was billed instead. I have a call into GM, who staff says is person who will need to take care of this now.
Rooms clean. Typical predictably of a courtyard. I am not a fan of the bistro service. As a platinum elite member, I appreciated having free breakfast of old style service. Hilton garden inn breakfast is better, more traditional.

I was on a business trip and due to availability I ended up here with a coworker.
The lobby and bar area look great and have lots of room for having a cocktail, or breakfast or a private work area with computer and internet access.
The room was nice, clean and the bathroom and shower looked modern, were clean and everything worked great. The hidden refrigerator always comes in handy for keeping left overs fresh for another day. Anyone that does a lot of traveling and is sick of fast food can appreciate this.
The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is that when a person walks in wearing work clothes from the day they should be treated the same regardless of how they are dressed. If i walked in wearing a shirt and tie like i normally would i think the attitude would have been different.

My family of five stayed here at the end of February for a night. The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel is just a standard hotel. The hotel room was very standard. Nothing to rave about. It was nice for just a one night stay. I think the rate should be a lot lower for what is offered at this hotel.

I was slightly disappointed with this hotel for the price. We paid $ 177.00 for a Saturday to Sunday and when getting into our room we felt it was not worth what we paid. There was no refrigerator. There was no safe to keep important things. The bathroom was small and nothing special the towels in the area where the sink is smelled strange and not clean. Over all for what we paid for the room it was not up to the standars for what the name Marriott should offer. I’ve stayed in two other hotels in this neighborhood for a lesser price with
better or the same quality. I will be booking a room down the road next time. The staff however is great and the young man a the front desk was very nice. The two housekeeping staff members we ran into in the hallway were equally as friendly and nice. So the staff is the reason I am giving this hotel 3 stars.

I have to say the hotel staff is very friendly and nice, unfortunately this hotel is not well kept to justify the nightly rate. Beds are not comfortable, shower tub feels like it’s about to break when you step in, shower curtain has an overwhelming plastic smell you can’t escape from. My fresh towels had lipstick stains and the phone cord had blood stains. The lobby area was super nice, but these rooms need major TLC.

Alisha Nielsen the Front Desk Supervisor is EXCELLENT! Customer Service is a skill that she has definitely passed on to the rest of her staff! I was very satisfied with my stay here and will absolutely stay here again and recommend to my friends and family.

This Courtyard Marriott is one of two hotels that my company uses for employees traveling to our Tempe office. It is a nice place, and I would guess was renovated 5 or so years ago. There is an outdoor pool and fitness center, along with your normal lobby with ample seating, etc. The upsides are that this is located close to the airport, and is within walking distance to multiple restaurants. The ‘bistro’ in the lobby has Starbucks coffee, and some basic offerings for breakfast, and some basic dinner options. It is not a full bar, but they have wine and beer available. Rooms are standard fare: flat screen, desk, decent bedding. Overall it is a decent place to stay, just nothing to get excited about…

I am finding that I am getting pretty tired of Courtyard in general, so my review is partly based on that fact, though there are some unique elements that I will highlight as well.
I am here for my second night of two right now and am here not only for the room nights, but also for a meeting that I facilitated. The hotel itself is about average for a Courtyard at this point from my experience. There are at least as many I have stayed at that aren’t as nice and about the equal amount that are nicer. The room probably matches that same description, though it seems a bit tired with the showerhead being older, the bed being pretty uncomfortable and some small things like the closet door difficult to open.
The walls are thinner then other Marriott brands, though this isn’t as bad as some Courtyard properties. The towels at Courtyards (in general) are so thin too.
The service is friendly overall (front desk staff, management, housekeeping).
One oddity that stood out was the night of my arrival, they vacuumed the hallways outside of the rooms after 8pm. That seems a little late to have such noise so close to guests who are settling in for the evening.
For the event I was facilitating, though not coordinating, I arrived in the meeting room at 8am for an 8:30am start and found an empty room other than the tables set up for 28 people. I was only expecting 21, so it was set too far back and too close to the walls. By myself, I moved tables and chairs around to make it more comfortable. I then had to go out to the front desk and ask where my supplies were (flip chart easels, flip chart pads, etc.) that were dropped off the night before for me to use. They were still locked up somewhere. I also had to ask where the beverages were that were arranged (coffee, juice, water, etc.). They had to rush around to get that set up as if it was an afterthought. There were no notepads or pens set out, which is customary for other meetings I have had at different Courtyard properties. Fortunately, the front desk staff, A.V. staff, banquet staff and management were all respectful and attentive upon my request, though I shouldn’t have had to corral them. The morning break items that were brought at 10am were not removed until after 1:15pm even though we took our lunch break from noon-​1pm (so they came in and interrupted our meeting) and they never refreshed our pitchers of water that ran out shortly after lunch.
Between the hotel just being average for a Courtyard (not average compared to anything better) and the stressful impact of how they handled the conference aspects — I am being generous with my 3-​star rating.
For context — I am a platinum elite, and very loyal, Marriott member who has traveled extensively to nearly all Marriott brands as well as had several meetings at various Marriott branded properties.

Well… not a bad place. Lobby & pool areas nice. Rooms are clean but standard for typical hotel. Why not free coffee in lobby? For $ 50 less, Holiday Inn Express down the street has complimentary breakfast! I wasn’t in charge of reserving our hotel but the competition is out there! Do your research!

When I travel for business normally Courtyard is where I stay. Great bed, wifi, business area and a bistro area with food and bar. Great location with plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance. The staff has been friendly the air in my room keeps the room ice cold.

This is my first stay here since they remodeled the «joint» and I must say it looks really nice. I am sad that they discontinued the local merchant promotion where you could show your room key and get goodies at shops nearby. BUT THE ECONOMY BEING WHAT IT IS, what was I thinking right?
The rate here is fantastic, and actually if I still had reason to be on this side of town (which I don’t anymore thanks to my mean old boss) I would continue to stay here like I used to do.
There are TONS of things to do around here to fill your stomach, which is really all that matters right?
Oh wait this is a hotel review… let me get down to brass tacks as it were:
Rooms are well appointed and standard fare for remodeled Courtyards
TV comes in clear and angles to all the right places EXCEPT for out on the patio, where you can observe the after meeting crowd mingling and cooing at the palm trees.
THERE ARE SO MANY PLACES TO EAT AROUND HERE it is crazy… I think people in Chandler must just be motivated by food and cars.
The staff is friendly and not obtrusive (no call to my room to make sure it was ok).
I did get a Platinum welcome gift, which was a bottle of water and a cookie… who can complain about that?
Parking is easy
Freeway is close
Rate is great
Close to places I need to be/​go (this week at least)
What more can I say? Lots in walking distance.

Really can’t go wrong with a Courtyard. Rooms as always set perfectly for after hours business and beds a comfortable. This property in particular is close to some very good restaurants, which made it easy to entertain and then slide back to the room.
Close to PHX, it’s a breeze to get to/​from and on your way.
Great location and consistent.

Considering we stayed off peak and used our Marriot points you would think we could have been given a halfway decent room.
In an empty hotel we were given the crappiest, smallest furthest away room from checkin and the pool.
There was 7 cars in the parking lot at 1am on Sunday morning that’s how many people were here.
Apparently when you book online the computer gives you the crappy rooms! if we had complained when we first got there they would have given us a court yard room.
Other than that, pool and spa was clean and welcoming.
Our room was clean but small and round the back of the hotel next to the freeway.
