History

Established in 2008.

After opening as a franchised restaurant, we quickly recognized the local community embraces unique, family owned establishments so we developed a fresh new menu, stepped up our Craft Beer commitment and re-branded as The Hungry Monk.

The Monk is family owned and operated by Jim & Carol. While originally from Michigan, both work, live and play in Chandler, AZ.

Meet the Business Owner

Jim L.

Business Owner

After starting in the restaurant business at the age of 15 back in Michigan, he ran his first franchise at age 20, opened a deli at age 27 before heading into the corporate world for the next 25 years.

After moving to Arizona and saying goodbye to the 9 – 5 gig, Jim decided to combine his love of food and sports along with his passion for incredible beers.

The result is the great food, terrific vibe and eclectic selection of beers here at The Hungry Monk.

Please ask for him when you stop in!
