Imperial Windows & Sunscreens

John and his crew are top-​notch. We love our new windows! We had 5 replaced upstairs and the difference in comfort in those south and west facing windows is ENORMOUS. I was expecting a decrease in the amount of heat that gets through them, but the difference really is awesome! The whole upstairs area used to be the warmest part of the house in the summer, and it’s now the coolest. We opted for the low-​e double-​paned glass with a tint. The installers were very nice, they worked quickly, they put down protective coverings on the floor around where they were working, and even put plastic up in the open cavities during the removal of the original windows to keep dust and debris out.
We will be calling John again in the near future to do the rest of the windows in the house, can’t wait!

We got new windows and shutters from Imperial. We got about 8 quotes and decided to go with Imperial. I am extremely happy with the product and the service. John is awesome and you get top notch service and price from someone who is local and is passionate about making his customers happy. I recently had John with Imperial Windows come to my home for a window (s) replacement quote. I found John to be very friendly, informative and personable. I ended up having Imperial do the work I requested and I am so glad I did! In particular I have a large west facing window and previously had sunscreens installed to help with the heat during the brutal Arizona summer months. But even with sunscreens, the heat in that room was unbearable. John suggested a particular window for that application (low e, tint, dual pane, etc) and even though the window may have been pricier than others, I am so impressed with it’s performance thus far. And I don’t see us re-​installing the sunscreens on that window ever! Also, I must mention John’s installation crew is second-​to-​none! They also are very friendly and informative and I could tell by watching them work they are very passionate about performing a flawless installation. I plan on having Imperial Windows back out in the near future to complete another section of my house since my wife and I are so impressed with them. I COULD NOT be happier with my new windows!!! I set up the appointment with John to come replace the 5 windows in my house that weren’t double pane, and about a month and a half later his partners Jose and Jorge came out and did a fabulous job. They were professional and quick! They were in and out in about 3 ½ hours and cleaned up everything. I will definitely be using them when it’s time to replace the other three windows in my house.

Contacted this company twice and sent an email request through their website, never received a call back or was ever contacted.

Excellent work and very reasonable prices! John was extremely helpful in providing a detailed estimate and timely service. He was able to address a very specific custom order of mine and he also filled out the necessary rebate information. During the process we were in direct communication via phone/​text which I loved. I would highly recommend Imperial Windows.

Called John Tuesday morning (because of the great reviews on Unilocal) on 3÷8÷16 he didn’t answer so I left him a voice mail to call me back to set up an estimate. Wednesday afternoon came and I hadn’t received a call back so once again I called and this time John answered. I informed John that he was rated very well on Unilocal and I need 2 windows replaced and 2 sunscreens and would like him to come give me an estimate this weekend, John informed me that he has a minimum 4 windows to come out and also has a 7 sunscreen limit to come out and give an estimate. John didn’t seem like he wanted my business unless it was a large job consisting of at least 4 windows replaced or 7 sunscreens. So I’m writing this review in the hopes that I can save someone else the head ache of dealing with John. So unless you have a large job then don’t bother calling John its a waste of time and based on what he said to me he doesn’t do windows per say but does custom frames for windows and that’s why its a 4 window minimum (meaning he doesn’t just replace a broken window)!
On another note I ended up using Apache Glass who was very friendly and helpful and had no issues coming out and giving me an estimate on my «small job» (2 large windows replaces and 2 large custom sunscreens). The price was very competitive as well.

Had I realized what a great, easy and reasonably priced experience this was going to be, working with someone like John at Imperial, I wouldn’t have waited so long to do it. The whole process was fantastic! He helped me decide what percentage of screens (for example 80% or 90%) on each of my windows at different exposures on my entire house. He replaced everything and even the back siding patio screen. He was professional and timely and finished exactly when he said he would and even coordinated with me to install the screens when I was working. He also filled out all the paperwork for me to receive the SRP rebate. John and Imperial were exceptional!

Easy deal. Fast installation. Reasonable price. And the windows look really great. John also helped complete all the documentation needed for an SRP rebate. We’re very glad we chose this company for our new screens.

We decided to go with Imperial Windows and Screens to replace the aged sunscreens on our home. John Uptegrove (the owner) came to our home to give us an estimate for the sunscreens and a replacement patio door. John took his time as he explained the options available to us as well as the cost — including the estimated SRP rebate.
The screens were installed approximately 2 weeks after they were ordered and they look great and are a really nice quality. Bob the installer was very pleasant and professional and John showed up during the install to make sure everything was going smoothly. Bob left the SRP rebate paperwork with Imperial Windows and Screens portion filled out and explained exactly what needed to be done to submit the rebate forms.
I would highly recommended Imperial Windows and Screens. John obviously takes great pride in the quality of his product and work and was a pleasure to do business with. Had sunscreens and five windows replaced in my home this week. John did an excellent job explaining the options and advantages to different solutions. He didn’t try to up sell me and was very thorough in this bid and proposal. Bob did an excellent job on the sunscreen install and Jose was awesome with the window install and left our interior spotless upon completion. Results look fantastic and would definitely recommend Imperial to friends and family.

I had energy efficient windows installed on my house. I received three bids and John seemed the most knowledgable and professional. I went with his bid and was very satisfied with the entire process. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

I attempted to gather quotes from 3 companies for my new window screens. John was not the first to respond. We had already received a quote from another 5 star rated company and were ready to move forward when John came for an estimate. John’s estimate was in line with our others. His had a couple of extra benefits, like screwing down the screens and a couple of nicer decorative touches for two of our windows.
All through the process, John was informative, responsive and just all around great. I would highly recommend him to anyone that would need screens.

Had john come out about 2 weeks ago to give me a estimate on some sun screens. His presentation was the best out of all estimates i got. It took about a week to get them installed. They look awesome and would recommend him to anyone.

For both appointments, John showed up and the exact time. He was very personable, and did a great job, first getting the right measurements for 7 windows and then with the installation about a week later. My fiancé and I moved into our house during the summer. Of course the windows were outdated and we saw value in upgrading to save on energy. We did our research on Unilocal.Our top pick was Imperial. After receiving quotes from 4 places, including Imperial, we chose John and his crew. John is a great owner and person. He came out and gave us a quote in the summer when we had no A/​C. He gave me the most information and did not up sell us. He gave us well informed options and did not pressure us or talk badly about other companies. His crew came out on a Sunday morning to install because that was what worked best for our schedule. We have had the windows for a few months now and it has made a difference. John and his crew are fantastic. I recommend him to anyone.

John was so friendly and approachable to work with. He did an amazing job installing 80% sunscreens on 8 windows in about an hour. Total cost was $ 700 plus $ 111 SRP rebate. He even helped us with the rebate form and all we had to do is fill our info. and send it in. Would highly recommend John to anyone looking for sunscreens!

I found John from Imperial windows through Unilocal.We shopped around and John offered the best prices– he was very easy to work with. He was very thorough, informative, and answered all out questions and concerns. We are very happy with our sunscreens and our house already feels cooler… Money well spent :)

I got quotes from 5 different contractors (including the worst – Home Depot on Baseline) for replacing the 8 side-​sliding windows in my newly purchased house. My husband and I wanted to replace the single-​paned, damaged aluminum frame windows that currently stood in the house before the summer. John came to my house and was professional, informative, and helpful. His price was reasonable – in the median range of what I was hearing, and the windows that he sold were top of the line. While he highly recommended the Aegis windows that he carries because of their exccellent value, my husband and I went with the Simonton windows that he does because of their widespread name and guarantee that were worth a little extra money. We got texturing on the bathroom windows and tinting on the East-​facing ones, and John tried to do everything possible to keep costs down (like not tempering glass when it didn’t need it for regulations, that other «big names» had told me I «needed» it).
My husband and I have a «do it right» rule when it comes to homeownership, and John and his team did just that. The windows were ready in 6 weeks and Jose, his installer, had them in within a day. Everything was cleaned up quickly and well, but there were a few small holes in the caulking once it dried and shrank. Jose came right out to go over all the caulking that he needed to, included in the price of the guaranteed service.
Let me tell you, our new windows are BEAUTIFUL! So beautiful, in fact, that our wood frame back door that adds to the house’s character (we initially thought) now looks like an eyesore in comparison! While we’re looking for something with a dog door like the current one we have, John says he wouldn’t want to damage the integrity of an energy-​efficient replacement door. As soon as the two of us figure out a solution, We’ll be getting a quote :)
John and Jose shared expertise with me when I asked about other things around our house, like a sun-​worn exterior side door that needs replacing. It’s always great to have people to trust to help you out as a homeowner.
