History

Established in 1984.

As four generations of Arizona farmers, our family started out in the 1950’s in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dairy farmers on the now busy corner of Hayden and Indian School roads.

We then moved to Gilbert and farmed Alfalfa, cotton, and corn in the area of McQueen and Warner roads. In the early 1980’s we moved to our present location of McQueen and Ryan rd in Chandler.

We grow and harvest our own alfalfa and bermuda grass hay as a retail commodity for horses and livestock around the south east valley.

Billy Schrader and Schrader Hay Company have been great to work with. Hay deliveries are on time when scheduled and the hay and alfalfa guilty has been wonderful. I own a local horse boarding stable and in the winter we are feeding about 60 head of horses so it is very important to have hay delivered on time and the top quality is a must when I am dealing with that many clients. The horse are all fat and happy which makes the owners happy! Which of course makes ME happy!

We’ve ordered hay from Shrader over the last couple years, and they’ve been GREAT to work with!
Response is prompt & professional, and hay quality is good with zero weeds and well-​packed flakes, which you don’t always get with bermuda.
We have kind of a tight fit to get the squeeze under our hay shelter, and Billy is an EXPERT at making all the right tiny adjustments to get the load of hay in with no risk to the structure.
(If you are considering building a hay shelter, there are many considerations. Don’t find out the squeeze truck won’t fit when your first hay delivery arrives!) ;-)
