Anthony & Sylvan Pools

We put in a pool last fall and our concerns with the pool have not been addressed. The pool is beautiful but there is space between the tile and the coping on the inside of pool, there is a significant difference between the decking and the coping to point that it hurts to walk on, the pressure gauge is broken and there are 2 broken coping tiles. I have sent emails but am still waiting for a response.

Worst Customer Service
I bought Anthony & Sylvan’s gold package for opening my pool but instead I got a damaged, badly leaky chlorinator. They sent a single person to open my 38,000 gallon pool and remove the cover too. All he cared about was to get out of my house because according to him he had three more pools to open that same day. He had tightened chlorinator with some type of tool (his tool marks are on the plastic chlorinator) when it is supposed to be hand tightened. After discovering this issue and making several phone calls to local Anthony & Sylvan service facility, I finally received a phone call and was told that I had to wait until end of the week before somebody would come and fix the issue. It would probably take less than 10 minutes for a competent technician to fix this issue. By now my pool has been shut down for three days and had to stay closed for almost another week and I have to buy more chemicals to treat the water due to shut down while I am waiting for them to fix the problem that their own technician created. At no time during our phone conversation she expressed any regret for what their technician has done. She, like her technician, was trying to get to the next job. I complained the wait and her attitude and her response was «call corporate». This company has the worst customer service I have ever seen.

Received a call back from Owen in customer service, who was very apologetic, and should be commended for his customer service skills. Though I have already decided to go with another pool company for my project, Owen was eager to improve my perception of his company and has agreed to provide a complementary pool closing this fall.

Any questions we had in the process was answered immediately and we were always kept in the loop during the pool building process. I would recommend Anthony and Sylvan if you are considering building your pool.

Absolutely the worst driver representing your company. Nearly hit my car trying to make a left turn when I had the right of way. Proceeds to pull up beside my car, yell and flip me off, which the gesture was returned. Then speeds off in a residential area. If this is how he drives in a company vehicle, I cannot imagine how he services pools. Had PA plates: ZGH-​8566.

Anthony sent out an inspector to diagnose the Plaster issue on our pool. Frank their inspector had extremely good news the plaster is not coming off as previously suspected it can be cleaned with granular product and light brushing he did 2 steps within minutes the discoloration was gone. We could not be happier with the news, we dreaded the cost and inconvenience if the pool would have to be emptied, re-​plastered and filled again. Thank you so much for helping us to resolve this issue.

After posting my review, Anthony and Sylvan Pools really stepped up and resolved the situation. They are a company that really believes in customer service. They offered to honor my 10% coupon. I recommend using them again and having open honest conversation with their national office.

We had a new pool installation completed in August 2014. Although I use the term completed loosely, as the Salt Water filter they installed has been broken since day one. I can’t get ANYONE from the company to return a phone call or an email. This company has the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Now my husband and I have to hire a lawyer … and all they had to do was fix the broken crap they sold us!!!

After posting my review, Anthony & Sylvan contacted me and we were able to work together to find a positive resolution to my concerns. If u have any problems you should contact customer service before you do anything. I did not think about that before. After I post my review a nice man contacted me from customer service and basically solved most of the main concern about my back and frontyard. I guess my backyard looks awesome now. Don’t take me wrong, I like their work as far as construction and the way the pool designs look like. I just did not like the way they left the front and backyard. I just found out they are still not done yet.

I’ve had a chlorine issue for several weeks and Edie and Kevin of the Chantilly store in Virginia were persistent in helping me to find and correct the problem. Over the course of several weeks, we keep trying different and stronger solutions to get my chlorine levels up, with no success. Finally, Edie recommended a «nuclear» solution which did the trick. I know that I was doubtful when I poured this grey sludge solution into the pool, but two days later, perfection. My water tests have been spot on since then. They also recommended a good home strip test which gives me daily confidence that levels are staying in range and a regular weekly regiment to control algae (lots of trees and birds) and post-​rain treatments. I can’t say enough good things about the store and the customer satisfaction from me and others that I meet there. They are doing a great job and I’ll be back next summer. (Anthony and Sylvan also built my pool over 15 years ago; since then I have had to-​be-​expected pool maintenance (such as new vacuum cleaner and motor), but Paul did a great job advising on pool design with cost controls in mind.)

After posting my review I was contacted by A&S concerning any outstanding issues that I had. They offered to fully reimburse me for my out-​of-​pocket expenses incurred in resolving the drainage problem. They have also made arrangements to resolve my last remaining issue.
Overall I am satisfied with their efforts to make good on this contract. Therefore I am increasing my rating to 3 stars. This rating would have been higher had someone taken the time to reach out to me earlier in the process and give my issues this level of attention.

A & S contacted me after seeing my first review. They worked with me to resolve the drainage issue. They also gave me a reduced price for the caulking. As a result I am changing my review to reflect a more positive outcome.
I hope that A & S can continue to improve their follow-​up procedures. An investment project as big as a pool requires a lot of attention to details, not just in the construction, but in customer satisfaction.

Anthony & Sylvan redeem themselves. I was contacted by A & S to see what it would take to resolve the outstanding issues I had with them related to the pool renovation work they performed on my pool. They did, in fact, fix those things left previously unresolved. They made good their promise.
I feel they are taking customer concerns /​satisfaction more seriously now. This is a good thing.
