This is our new go-to place for ice cream. While Nutter’s costs less, that only counts if you don’t have to join a queue up the street to get in. Last two times we drove out there, we gave up and came back home. Decided to give this place a go. Delish! The better comparison to make is with the«under new management» Cone Zone. At Skipper’s, you get more for less.

The food is mediocre. The ice cream is amazing bc it’s from South Mountain Creamery. It’s not Skippers ice cream specifically!

Stopped in for a 2:00PM lunch today with my son after an appointment here in Charles Town. We were happy with our food choices and the service. Ordered their chicken salad sandwich on panini bread and a steak flat bread pizza. Both were satisfactory in taste and portion. We did not have room left for ice cream, so we will return another day to try some.

I had a flatbread pizza it was so good! The restaurant itself was cute and clean! The coconut joy ice cream is the best I have ever had and the customer service was very good the girl was so friendly. Family friendly place good for kids.

I wanted so badly to have a great remark to leave, it bums me out! This spot is a quaint location and I’ve never had any qualms with the taste of the food. However, for a small side salad and half of a BLT(lunch combo) plus a drink I paid nearly $ 10, which just seems like a financial gouge. Especially when(see pic) the sandwich was almost naked. With subway and jimmy johns nearby you’d imagine some competition, but I could’ve had an entire 12″ sub stuffed with all kinds of meats and accoutrements and still paid less than the total for my cup of spring greens with some ranch, a Pepsi, and half a naked sandwich. I understand the small town quality of a gem like this, and by all means the food tastes great, but the value isn’t there or worth it. Sweets? Yes I’ll be back, but food? Definitely not worth the price for what you are getting. I wanted to say something today when I got my food, but was in a rush and just decided that I won’t dine here again now that I know I can get a really good deal elsewhere. $ 10 for a practically empty sandwich, a cup of salad mix and a soda? Blew my mind.

This place has the most amazing ice cream. I love, love, love the Chunky Monkey — banana ice cream with peanut butter. My husband had the chocolate and it was great. My daughter had cookies and cream and it was great too but chunky monkey is by far my favorite.

Looking for yumminess? This is the place to stop. Nice décor, large old storefront. Had the monkey butter ice cream, never heard of it, but it combined my two favorites, banana ice cream with peanut butter! Yum!

The food was simply ok! We came on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn’t busy, but our food was still cold and kinda bland! Definitely a kid restaurant, due to the simple nature of the food! Bacon and Cheese Fries were pretty dry and gross! Good experience, but not worth it for anything other than ice cream! I’ve had the ice cream previously and it was very good!

If you’re bopping around Jefferson County for a day, stop by Skippers for one of the best deals around. For $ 5.30 my husband and I got two cones of delicious ice cream. He had the grasshopper which was really refreshing and full of cookie chunks. I got a peanut butter on top & chocolate on the bottom cone(yes, one«scoop» is actually two!). Really great, friendly service. We’ll be back!

They now offer the local South Mountain creamery ice cream which is reason enough to stop in. I enjoyed the chocolate peanut butter ice cream with hot fudge. Once I had a flatbread pizza for lunch and was tasty. I’ve come in at off peak times so always has been quiet and peaceful, contrary to some reviewers.

This is a decent place for ice cream if you’re in the area. Service is fast and friendly, though the atmosphere is kind of cafeteria-like with lighting that’s way too bright and harsh. Being an ice cream place, there are screaming kids everywhere. I enjoyed the butter pecan, and it was dirt cheap for an enormous portion.

I took my 6 year old daughter here as a mom daughter date night. We ordered our food which was prepared quickly and it was tasty. Then we chose our ceramics and we were let be to create our masterpieces. Then we indulged in our ice cream. I had the Coconut joy, which was just super yummy. I also had a veggie flat bread pizza for dinner which was also quite good. I hope to head back for another date night. The sales clerks were very friendly and helpful.

They have sandwiches, soups, salads, pizzas, ice cream and assorted sundaes, and you can paint your own pottery here! The pros, there are many: 1) The people are superfriendly, which is always nice. 2) Their ice cream is AMAZING. Comes from South Mountain Creamery, and I’m told they change up the selection a lot. Moo Tracks(chocolate ice cream with peanuts and mini reese’s cups) is heavenly. I also tried my boyfriend’s Coconut Joy(an almond joy in ice cream form) which was absurdly good. 3) They have free wifi, all the better for you to write your Unilocal review on. The cons: 1) I have never eaten their food, because I’m too busy eating their ice cream and 2) so much for that diet.
