Aviv Service Today

This is the second time we have used Aviv for a repair to our fridge. Brian and Doug were extremely helpful and on time as well as answered all my questions. I recommend them to all our family and friends.

I called this company because I thought that they were located close to my business. Turns out that they were not, but they service our area. My freezer took a lightning strike during a recent storm. I didn’t realize at first that the freezer wasn’t working correctly until I went to get something out and the light didn’t come on. I tried all the things that I could think of. The office had someone out in about 2 hours. Bryan immediately found the problems, and did a temporary fix until the parts could come in about 5 days later. Then, Rick came to finish up the job and put all the new parts in. Both technicians called as they were on their way, explained everything to me in easy to understand terms, and clearly explained instructions for me to follow and the costs involved with what they did. I am thankful that, due to this company’s knowledge and quick response time, I did not lose any products from my freezer.

Bryan was here today, to look at a dishwasher that was leaking. He identified the dishwasher as one that had a recall and helped us connect with age. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Aviv sent a repair person out the same day we called.
We have called Aviv before, for repair to our refrigerator, washer and stove and have had nothing but top notch service and quick response!

Doug has helped me with an ice-​maker and our dryer. One of the most professional and courteous people I have met in a long time. Service and timeliness are great!

Really went above & beyond to fix the problem with my dishwasher. Everyone was so polite & professional. Great experience!

These guys were super fast. Within two hours of me making the phone call they were in my home and had my washer fixed. Tom, my repair guy was very friendly and helpful. The reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because of the price. A $ 20 part (the lid switch) cost $ 185 dollars to install (plus $ 45 service charge). Tom said, the lid switch is a common problem in these washers, however, once it was fixed, its a sturdy washer that will last for years to come. So while it sucked to pay more to have the thing fixed than it did to purchase the washer, they were at my house very quickly (on a Saturday… other places couldnt get there until Monday or Tueday) and had me all fixed up before I had to be at work. Be aware of the huge mark up on parts (this could be normal, I have not researched the same repair at other place)…but they will get you taken care of.

Quick response and excellent and friendly service. I am completely satisfied and will use them again.

Aviv Service Today has always done great work for us. 1) They are always very quick to come out for a service call. This is invaluable! 2) We have a very high-​end double dishwasher system which has proven to be a pain in the … Aviv has serviced it several times along with other service companies (we used to have American Home Shield) and always fixed it for us. It is a highly sensitive system and is always tripping itself though. This time, Aviv sent its head technician out to assess the problems and for the first time ever, this dishwasher system is working seamlessly (knock on wood)! We are very satisfied repeat customers!

I have been a most satisfied customer of Aviv Services Today for years. I have used them in multiple locations and recommended them to friends who have also been completely satisfied with their service. Whenever I did place a service call to the company, a representative was always prompt, polite and very clear on the the amount that would be charged before the service was completed. I read a review that was written recently and was shocked at the complaint. I am concerned that this vacating «tenant» complaint should not be with the appliance company but perhaps the landlord that deducted from the security deposit which would not have anything to do with the Aviv Service Today. This Aviv Appliance Today company has always gone beyond with our needs and in fact, they have been kind enough to help friends I have, long distance, over the phone, as to the best way to fix their problems with their appliances. This Unilocal review system is a good vehicle for customers to use, but sometimes the review authors should be reviewed as well. Thank you for your time.

Charleston, South Carolina This appliance repair service is way overpriced. Unfortunately I was not given the opportunity to decline their work. I was an outgoing tenant whose property manager authorized these people to do repairs on an electric range temperature control switch. Had I been the one to authorize the work, I would have said NO (after a good laugh)… I was able to obtain 2 other estimates from comparable companies for far less. Their charges were about $ 80 for a service call. Not sure why they marked up the parts so much and the fee for the work on their second visit… but their bill came to over $ 330. All told we were out $ 400. This was deducted from my security deposit and essentially nothing I could do about it. Multiple calls and emails to Aviv Service Today was without any resolution on their overpriced rip off so I am reporting it in this venue to warn others off of this company. There are just too many other outfits that do as good or even better work for far less money. They have come across as arrogant, un-​budging on a resolution to please their customers and showing disrespect and disregard in their customer service. In all fairness I will report the follow up email I received from the COO. The range was a micro-​range Avanti with a blown burner switch… Avanti of Florida reported the part was only $ 30 and that included shipping fees. Given an $ 80 service call and a follow up visit to do the work (which I am sure a monkey could have done)… came eventually to $ 400. Two other service companies in Charleston quoted: $ 120 and about $ 180. Basically they charged more than twice or even three times as much to do a simple switch out of an electrical range temperature control switch. Why pay $ 400 when you can pay $ 120? I certainly would not have if given the choice, however, the property manager made the choice (why would he care, it was not skin off his back). After getting no-​where with these people (multiple phone calls and email)… I decided to report them to SC Customer Affairs and also this forum (additionally I will alert the BBB and Angie s List). They obviously don t know contemporary customer service protocols nor do they exert customary and usual pricing. Amazing they are still in business in today s economy. (if you wish to receive an explanation by the COO, you can email me and I will provide a copy for you) Warning to others. if you need appliance repair and are considering this outfit, I would advise getting 2 other estimates. This is NOT brain surgery, but a simple repair of an appliance, and any capable technician in the area would be able to do a good job. Why pay more.

Terrible company! Liars, thieves, and cheats! Save your money and do business with someone else. They were going to charge me $ 211 for a part that another company came back and chaged me $ 35 for. When I told them that Aviv was going to charge me $ 211, the guy’s jaw dropped. Also, I didn’t let them perform the service and still had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get my refund.
