Established in 1999.

Established in 1999 by publisher Tim Brinkley, New Home Charleston and its quarterly publication Charleston Home + Design magazine connects home owners with the low country «it-​list» of home builders, renovators, services, and designers to help you achieve the home you’ve always wanted.

In addition to our magazine, we also have Charleston’s only home show on the radio! Tune in to 94.3 WSC FM every Saturday from 1−2pm for our ‘Talking About a Home’ show and hear us interview local industry experts to get the must-​have home tips, trends, and ideas.

Business Owner

After studying communications at SUNY Oswego and moving to sunny Charleston, Publisher Tim Barkley spent several years in the radio business selling airtime and perfecting his radio voice (heard now on our local spot, «Talking about a Home: A Home Show on the Radio»). As the company’s founder, Tim has been integral in the creation and growth of New Home Charleston since the company’s inception in 1999, and he has worked the past 15 years to make homebuilding and remodeling a simple and enjoyable task for Charleston locals. He resides on the peninsula with his wife, Jenny, and their two sweet girls, Cameron and Reese.
