Established in 2008.

At the Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston we offer a triple pronged dermatological approach to care for our patients. By working with medical, cosmetic and research dermatology we strive to make the best treatment options available to you and your family.

Our mission is to insure our patients enjoy a warm, friendly and compassionate environment while receiving the customized and personal care which they need. Combining the latest in medical and cosmetic technology paired with innovative techniques, our goal is to provide the solution and outcome you desire most.

With our convenient location in the West Ashley area of Charleston, our office is easily accessible from all regions of the Lowcountry. We are in network with many mainstream insurance providers and also offer complimentary cosmetic consultations for our cosmetic services. Business Owner

Dr. Todd E. Schlesinger is the Founder and Medical Director at Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston. With over 20 years of private practice experience, Dr. Schlesinger focuses in the areas of medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Having attended the State University at Buffalo School of Medicine, Dr. Schlesinger continued after his dermatology residency to complete the requisite training and testing to become a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. His ultimate goal in dermatology is to help you achieve the healthy, happy skin you desire!

Still a 1. After being turned away because of my not having my BC/​BS card with me I made an appointment with another office. I thought it weird they turned me away and I went elsewhere. I got a letter from their Social Media person trying to explain to me about their policy and still did not think they were wrong. So I went to my new appointment and lied to them. Told them I did not have my card. I said «Sorry, but I have the needed info». She said no worries, as long as you get it to us in the next week all is fine. I handed her my card and told her THANK YOU! That is exactly what I expected out of Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston. That is exactly what I did not get. I have a follow-​up with the other place and some stuff frozen off and a small amount being checked (wish me luck). Just want this place to understand how the situation should be handled. Not an explanation of their policy, but the policy that almost every doctor’s office in the known universe uses should be used here.

I opted to go to this location because someone referred me. The receptionist on the phone was not super helpful. I had a good amount of questions and she made me feel as though I was bothering her.
I arrived twenty minutes early for my appointment and was taken to a room about a half hour after my appointment time. The nurse (?) was very kind and made me feel comfortable, but once the doctor (finally) came in, she completely changed attitudes. The doctor was just like the receptionist– did not seem to care that I was a human being with concerns and not just a number on a folder giving them money.
I received a card in the mail stating it has been about a year since my last check up and I should make a new appointment. I called and asked to be taken off of their contact list. I will be searching for a new dermatologist in the area.
I gave them an additional star since their facilities were super nice and up to date, but it really only deserves one star.

I recently went to this office to have a skin cancer lesion removed as a result of a diagnosis. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my experience. The staff was very professional, but not stuffy or cold. They explained the process up front and updated as the process went along. Dr. Shlesinger was first rate, always asking how I was doing during the procedure and very personable. His tech followed up with a phone call home later that nite and Dr. Shlesinger called me several days later to see how I was healing. Follow-​up instructions were clear and easy to follow. Oh, and the office music was great, as well. If you are looking for a dermatologist in the Charleston area, your search is over. These folks are great.

Very friendly and professional staff. There are two sides to this place: the «medical» side and the «beauty» side.
They diagnosed and treated my husband’s skin cancer quickly (twice) and he barely has the faintest scars.
When we were in the waiting area between surgery and stitching up, I saw a pretty steady stream of ladies, young and old, coming and going, some within a 15 minute time span. The «beauty» side does things like botox and lip injections, etc. I can’t vouch for these services, but the medical part is top notch, as far as we are concerned.
