History

Established in 1932.

As of April 1, 2011, Dixon Hughes merged with Goodman & Company to form Dixon Hughes Goodman, LLP.

In 2003, Dixon Odom and Crisp Hughes Evans, two Southeast regional firms, announced their plans to merge and create a new firm, Dixon Hughes PLLC. The new merger was effective on January 1, 2004. This merger was regarded as one of 2003’s biggest mergers between regional firms.

Goodman & Company, LLP (Goodman) was first founded in 1932 by M. Lu Goodman. Working alongside D. Vernon Norman, the firm was originally known as Goodman, Norman & Company.

By the late sixties, Goodman had merged with the firm Berger & Wilson, and was officially renamed «Goodman & Company» to honor the then retired founding partner.

Today, Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP has a combined history of 80 years.
