Very fun event! I was worried I would leave hungry but that fear got swept away very fast! Nice portion samples and most vendors didn’t have lines. I would definitely return next year.

This festival was amazing. There were so many great restaurants to try, the only problem was getting full too fast. There were also beer, vodka and cupcake samples to my surprise. On a side note, it was very hot and crowded, hence the 4 not 5 star rating. It would be nice to have the samples set a little farther apart to help with crowd control. Other than that, I would definitely recommend and hope to go again next year!

Great experience, well worth the ticket price! The only downside was the lack of extra plastic ware. I would advise to arrive on time and wear comfortable shoes!

Wow am I late with this review. I had a great time at the Shrimp & Grits Festival. Had some really good versions of Shrimp & Grits and some I wished I never put in my mouth. But one thing is for sure. I’LLBEBACKNEXTYEAR!

Bus shed events are always fun, a bit crowded, but fun. I wish there was a better description about the tickets before hand. All of us thought that it was all inclusive with this ticket but that is not the case. You get 16 tickets and each sample is 1 ticket and beer is 3 or 4 tickets, so you would need to buy extra tickets if you want to enjoy adult beverages with your samples. When we arrived it was a bit crazy. No one could tell who was in what line and the lines moved very slowly. I had tickets at will call and when we finally found out who was in what line and made it to the front the lady had no urgency in getting our tickets. I heard some people complaining about the lines to get the samples for each restaurant. I agree that it was difficult once the lines got long to see where they ended and for which restaurant but I am not sure of a better way to set it up. We only had a few samples because everything was heavy so you fill up fast. I wish they would have reminded me to place my vote bc I forgot and when I remembered it was too late. Good luck to the planners next year. Hopefully the kinks will be worked out for the 2nd annual.

AWESOME!!! Worth every penny. We are new to the Charleston area and though this would be a good way to introduce ourselves to shrimp and grits. The varieties from so many amazing restaurants was great You get 16 tix to use as you like — 1 ticket for each sample of shrimp and grits 3 – 4 tickets for beer, 4 tickets for mixed drink and 1 ticket for 3 samples of Firefly vodka. Portions were very generous, between the two of us we went to Firefly twice, had 3 beers and a bloody mary(best I’ve ever had) and got uncomfortably full on fantastic shrimp and grits and still gave away a ticket. The band was also very good and so much fun! We will do it again in a heartbeat next year. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because entry into the festival was ridiculous and chaotic. I thought there was going to be a riot in the overheated entry area. i’m sure they will stream line that by next year.

This was such a awesome/fun event! The atmosphere, location, and of course food was great! Any lover of shrimp and grits would not be disappointed! The convenience of having 16 restaurants from the Charleston area, known for this signature dish, is undeniable. Defiantly worth trying out. Not to mention all the neat vendors ready to impress! *Side Note: Arrive early to ensure a leisurely good time, and don’t forget about the coastal humidity! I.e.Dress to stay cool!
