Signature Ride

As usual when I needed a ride to the airport at o’dark thirty in the morning I turned to Unilocal.My friends you did not steer me wrong. Lorraine was a doll. She arrived at exactly the time she indicated she would and got me the airport lickety split. The ride was clean, music was relaxing and restful, and the conversation was outstanding. And I got the recipes! I cannot recommend her highly enough — the cost was reasonable for such wonderful service. A guaranteed repeat customer if I’m ever in Charleston again and I’m going to tell anyone I know of who is traveling her way to make sure to check out her service. Outstanding!

We had an early flight back to NY, and thought we had better make a reservation, found Lorraine through Unilocal,and are glad we did. She arrived early, but made it clear we should not rush. Conversation was good, and she even gave us some Charleston recipes, which was a really nice touch. We will use this service again.

With my normal taxi service booked, I called Lorraine with 4 hours notice and she agreed to take me from JI to the airport. Very pleasant individual. It’s always a pleasure to meet people in life that truly have a passion for what they do.
Very professional — she called me and let me know she would be ten minutes early in my drive, and not to feel rushed.
As for payment, she’s able to take credit card. I would say her fare to the airport is reasonable, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either.
She uses a late model Dodge minivan that’s adequate for several individuals and their luggage.
I’ll definitely use her services in the near future.

I guess I’m in the minority here, but I wasn’t happy with the service last week. I had reached out via text where I specifically requested to have lowest fare, especially if I could share with other riders. She texted back and asked how many riders and quoted me 35.00 since I was one rider. While I thought that was high, I said OK. Once I landed, she mentioned that others were waiting for me, she called me 3 times from when my plane landed so I felt rushed. When I arrived there were 5 or so other riders and no room for my luggage, so I had to put my roller bag squished between driver and myself in the front seat. This is all fine by me, BTW but once I was driven to my location (about 5 minutes past the hotel where the group was dropped off), she still charged me 35.00 and said «your ride has nothing to do with the other people in the car.» Not cool. They all paid 10.00 each. Gladly took über back at 25.00 flat fee, by myself.

We came back to Isle Palms again this year and of course called Lorraine! She is absolutely a joy to be around. More importantly, she is always on time and reasonably priced. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone! If you need a ride in the Charleston area… she is your gal! Thanks Lorraine for the laughs and another great ride!

We have had the pleasure of having Lorraine pick us up from the airport each time we have flown into Charleston. Her vehicle even has a toddler seat for my daughter which is an added bonus. She is very pleasant, fun and knowledgeable of the area. Seeing Lorraine is a «must» whenever we visit.

If you are in the Charleston area, and need to get around without renting a car, you MUST call Ms. Lorraine! You will not be disappointed! She is very flexible with when she can pick you up, on time, polite, and has reasonable rates. She and her partner James were both easy going and just great to work with. They both had wonderful stories to share and my girlfriends and I had a great time riding with both of them. The recipes were great, Ms. Lorraine! We love your fair city and will be sure to give you a call when we get back there!

Thank you, Unilocal,for helping me find Lorraine! About 6 of us needed round-​trip service between Charleston, SC and Meggett, SC (~25 miles each way) for a wedding celebration and Lorraine was by far the most affordable. She arrived right on time and she was a good sport regarding some of our passengers who were tipsy and silly :) The recipe book at the end of the trip was a fun bonus! I can’t recommend her enough.

I decided to fully rely on fellow Unilocalers for a cab in Charleston this past weekend. Deciding on Signature Ride based on the great reviews, we called Ms. Lorraine to see if she could pick up 7 girls within a few short hours. She agreed and arrived in the monsoon like weather. She picked us up on Daniel Island and headed for Market Street.
She kept up the conversation and had everyone laughing from the moment we got in the car. She even gave us an impromptu tour around the battery and told us some of the best stories we’ve ever heard about the great town of Charleston.
I was hoping that she would mention this recipe book that I read about in other reviews and she did not disappoint. Almost on cue, she handed each of us her famous recipes. And when we started to get a little rowdy she even offered to get a «switch» after us. Anyone from the south knows how serious it is to be warned with switch.
Ms. Lorraine was great! She took great care of us told us to be careful and have fun. Next time I’m in town, I will definitely call her up.

She drove us downtown, then picked us up at the requested time. 8 girls, from Sullivan’s to King Street, and we each spent less than $ 12 total — including a big tip for her awesome service! What a deal!
Not to mention she was nice and drove safely.

Thanks to Unilocal,we stumbled upon a sweetheart taxi driver named Lorraine. She’s a one-​woman show and a great business woman at that. If you could picture an older southern mom driving a cab (she calls it a limousine because of her exclusive license), feeding me metaphorical biscuits, that accurately described Lorraine.
I was visiting my buddy in Goose Creek, and we called Lorraine to go downtown. Not only did she show up in 15 minutes, but also greeted us with genuine southern hospitality and a great ride downtown. Like I mentioned she runs her own company and is the only driver so there is no bullshit.
When she picked us up again at the end of the night she shared all her favorite recipes with me, and gave me a printout of her personal bests. Wow.
As you can probably tell, if you want good service and some serious southern flavor, call Lorraine. She’ll get you where you need to be with style. Make sure you ask her about her neon blue taxi light in the front…
