The Storage Bunker

Terrible customer service. I explained to the manager that I was looking for a refund because I wasn’t able to store my things there the same day I purchased a small unit. However, he was very rude to me and refused to even entertain the idea of a refund. Also, it’s super inconvenient to store your things here. It’s multi-​level and has a very dangerous looking staircase you have to maneuver your things up to your unit. Buyer beware, if you get injured they’re not liable. I will be taking my money to EZ Storage as they have much better customer service and have better prices as well.

I’m storing my college things here for the summer. It was a bit of a bike ride from civilization. I met the manager, who was nice but not as friendly as his brother at the other storage bunker. Nevertheless, same great deal for summer storage. The facility is clean, air-​conditioned, and has never had an incident of theft.

I had never stored my stuff before, so didn’t know what to expect. I was impressed with this facility, who were recommended to me by a nearby moving company.
Storage Bunker is run by two brothers, both of whom are friendly and give clear explanations about the various sizes of storage units, prices, policies, etc. Their building and storage units are very clean and well maintained, and I felt confident putting my furniture and boxes in there.
They give you a security code to enter their building and open your unit. This works well since their office hours are somewhat limited, so you can get in there after hours easily.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for reliable, well-​run storage in the Boston area.

Terrible customer service. I was their customer for 2 years. I had a storage unit of course, and I had some packages sent there, nothing crazy. Maybe 1 – 2 per month.
I paid on time, didn’t cause any problems. Last month, my year lease expired (I paid a year in advance to save one months’ rental — and this place is NOT cheap.)
I let them know at the end of May that I had moved out. June 1 was the renewal date. I went to pick up a package MAY 25^th and my code no longer worked. I was paid up, but they’d already de-​activated me and I couldn’t enter the building.
Then, I had one last delivery from Rue La La scheduled and it must have arrived June 2 — one day after I was no longer their customer.
I went to get it June 3, and the manager said he sent it back to Rue La La. This was a dress I was hoping to wear to a wedding. He knew who I was. I said, you have my phone number. Why didn’t you just give me a call?
His excuse was, they can’t do that with everyone.
So now, I have to pay for shipping again and I don’t get to wear that dress to the wedding. Not a tragedy, but not great either.
With the Storage Bunker, it’s all about them.
I will never use them again and would not recommend anyone else doing so.

I used the Storage Bunker twice during college and once to plug a post-​dorm/​pre-​new apartment gap, mainly because my parents tired of having mine and my roommate’s crap lying around our house.
The Storage Bunker facility is indoors, very clean, climate-​controlled, with security cameras and computer-​controls on the lockers so the staff knows when a locker is opened. Access to the locker area is restricted to customers only, so only people who belong have access to the area. They are Orange Line accessible if you walk from Community College (about 15 minutes past, on the same side of the road as the college,) in case you want to preview the place or pick up/​drop off something small without getting a Zipcar.
We used to rent a 5×5×4 locker for dorm supplies, which at the time was an «upper deck» locker accessible only by a wheeling staircase, and it was a pain carrying things up and down it. The third time, they had added a second story so the upper deck now has a freight elevator, which makes things much, much easier, since you can roll a dolly straight from your car to your locker. My stuff was always safe and clean when I got it back.
The rental fees are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They sell locks and packing supplies there, though I recommend buying your lock elsewhere, since the markup on plain old gym locker Master locks is incredible ($ 8 there vs. $ 3 at CVS.) They also have a nice clean bathroom, a soda machine and water cooler if you get thirsty from all that heavy lifting, and lots of free pharmaceutical pens from the salesmen who store stuff there.
I would definitely use The Storage Bunker again.
