Don’t move here. Heater does not work and they do nothing to fix it. There is literally cold air coming out and they don’t care that I freezing and getting ill. IT IS FREEZING IN MY APT.
You are forced to get time warner cable and internet but you will lose internet signal like every day. Poorly made building and things falling apart.
Forgot to add that maintenance takes forever to fix things and the girls who work at the leasing office and take our maintenance requests are some of the rudest and most vapid people I have ever met.
Take my word DO NOT MOVE HERE!
The apartments across are much better.
Thank god I stopped handful of friends, family, and acquaintance from moving here.

Alexander Place is in a highly desirable area within the Charlotte area. I was really excited to live here due to It’s close proximity to my office, to the Harris Y, 3 different Harris Teeter locations, the South Park Mall, and a variety of dining and entertainment venues. Further, the apartment complex has access to major thoroughfares and the light rail.
What made this place even more attractive in the beginning was the price tag — my partner and I were moving from NYC to Charlotte and were extremely pleased to find out that we could rent an apartment in a coveted submarket of Charlotte for less than $ 1.00 PSF.
But like most things that are too good to be true, they are.
I’ve regretted living in this complex since day one. Connor Group is a profit monger that hasn’t taken the time to truly upgrade these units. My partner, who is not always detail oriented did the initial walk through with the property manager. When I got home that evening I was shocked. To say that our apartment had been turned after the prior tenant left is not an accurate statement. It was VERY evident that the management group did little to ensure a certain quality standard was met. Certainly, this apartment was not ready to be lived in. There were parts of the baseboard missing in the kitchen — my cat was actually able to wiggle his way through the baseboard and crawl behind the dishwasher. Parts of the baseboard in the kitchen were chewed through by a previous tenant’s animal. The popcorn speckling in the bathroom was sagging. The bathroom vent was full of mildew and mold. All of the electrical outlets were loose — I tried to plug in a lamp and cracked the faceplate. This happened on literally EVERY outlet in the apartment. The carpet in the bedroom was frayed and coming loose from the threshold. The threshold in the bedroom was splintered — they tried to screw the threshold instead of nail it. The straw that broke the camel’s back was the cock roaches. I sat and I cried. It was a nightmare come true.
After consolation from my partner, we settled in nicely. The maintenance crew came and fixed MOST of the items listed above. To this day there is still chewed up baseboard in the kitchen, frayed carpet, splintered thresholds, and cockroaches.
If that were the end of the story — I’d probably give this place three stars. It’s average, really — the complex is quiet, the neighbors are friendly, and the complex has well established landscape. But that’s not the entire store and the reason I’m giving this apartment complex one star is because of the management team. They are unprofessional and rude.
The management company, has not taken care of and does not take proper care of this property. The luxury upgrades are laughable. I’m not sure vinyl kitchen counter tops, cheap brushed nickel back splash, dirty carpeting, and laminate flooring qualifies as «luxury» — but I guess to each their own. The truth is they put lipstick on a pig.
More importantly if you live on the first floor — be aware that your apartment will likely have some level of water damage. Time and time again we heard our neighbors complain about water intrusion. We found out first hand what that was like. The construction of this complex is such that if you are on the first floor all of the HVAC unit drain pipes reside above your ceiling. Hot summer + dirty airfilters + incorrect tonnage for units on floors 2 + 3, + lack of insulation of drain pipes = water damage to your ceiling. Management did not ensure that tenants were aware of proper temperature settings to prevent such an event from occurring. The constant running of the HVAC units caused the drain pipes to freeze — when the units eventually stopped running and the pipes thawed — we ended up filling 5 stock pots worth of water in a single day. In addition, we had severe flooding in our den due to damage of the HVAC handler. The improper drainage of water resulted in severe water damage to the flooring, dry wall and baseboards in the hall. There was so much water leaking from the HVAC unit that we had standing water in our den. I could jump up and down and splash in it like it was a rain puddle.
After sending many emails stating my home was inhabitable, threatening to hire a lawyer, filing a formal complaint on the BBB website as well as to the corporate office and after months of complaining about the roof leaks and three weeks of complaining about the standing water — the regional district manager assured me that the proper maintenance would be received.
Did I mention — this complex has approximately 300 units. There is only ONE maintenance guy.
The capstone to all of this was the sales staff constant follow up regarding our intent to renew our lease after we had given written notice twice and verbal notice twice. It was borderline harassment and completely unprofessional.
Long story, short. Don’t move here.

Here is ANOTHER review on Alexander place– The MANAGEMENT TEAM IS HORRIBLE! They could care less if how comfortable you live, y dish washer (as well as most of my neighbors) does not work, to get anything fixed with your apartment takes months, basketball court, the other pool, volleyball court are Disgusting, dog poop is everywhere! You have to threaten a lawyer to get big items fixed, etc dryer and dishwasher. If you say you are newly upgraded you need to make sure everything is in a working order! DONT JUDGE THJS BOOK BY ITS COVER!!! It looks nice, management «seems» nice psh! All they want is your money!!! I will NEVER EVER recommend ANYONE to live here. If you don’t believe this review just come to the pool any Sunday and ask ANYONE HOW THEY LIKE IT HERE 9 times out of 10 they will say it’s BS. Thank you and have a nice day
PS– my neighbors apartment was flooded and all the management did was put a fan in their apartment … There also is a 3 year old that lives there, it’s been 3 days and now there is black mold in the apartment. Management refuses to move the family

Worst management ever. Before I renewed my lease in January, they said that they’d wash my carpet for me and have the pest come by to take care of the worms in the spring. Well, it’s April. My carpet hasn’t been washed and of course nobody is getting back with me on that. I called about the worms and apparently the worms are protected and they can’t do anything about it. So their management style is «we’ll say anything you want to hear to get you to sign the paper. Then we’ll make up excuses for them later.»
Also my stoves had went out on multiple occasions while I was in the middle of cooking. Called on Saturday. «Oh, we’ll have maintenance come by first thing on Monday.» Of course nothing happened on Monday. Called on Tuesday. «Oh. Why don’t you try flipping the breaker.» «why couldn’t you tell me that on Saturday when I needed to finish cooking my food?!»
It’s exhausting dealing with the management team here. No one seems to be communication for efficiency. Full of excuses. I’ve lived in many apartments before and this one is the worst.

I’ve lived at Alexander Place for almost two years. The location of the complex, the quiet, well-​kept atmosphere and the friendly neighbors are great. It’s also convenient to have a full-​size washer and dryer provided in the unit. Though I love my apartment, I will most certainly not be renewing my lease.
The management staff of the complex continues to show themselves to be disorganized, non-​communicative, and disinterested in helping out tenants. Any time that I have called or dropped by the management office with an issue or question, I’m told something different. On multiple occasions, maintenance issues have been dragged out for over a week, with a different excuse being given every day as to why nothing was done. It is clear that this management staff has no pride in their work, that they care nothing for providing service to the tenants to pay highly to live in these «luxury» apartments. The «upgrades» were slapped on so carelessly and cheaply to fixtures that are so sadly outdated, it’s unbelievable to pay such high-​end prices to receive such low-​end service.
The attitude of the management staff appears to be an extension of the property management company, the Conor Group, itself. At one point when I faced an issue with an employee serious enough to warrant contacting them, I placed several calls over multiple days only to finally receive a response from someone in the Alexander Place office. No one from the Conor Group could be bothered to return a simple phone call.
The cherry on top of all of this is the mandatory $ 100 cable and Internet fee charged monthly. Yep, mandatory. That means anyone who doesn’t even use a TV or computer is required to shell out an extra $ 100 for basic cable and the slowest Internet speed. Never have I heard of this being done elsewhere. When asked about it, the management office stated it has to do with a contract with Time Warner, that they can’t even do anything about it. But why did they sign up for this contract in the first place?
A quiet, well-​situated apartment doesn’t seem to be enough to make up for a staff that can’t be bothered to provide reliable service to its tenants. I would not recommend Alexander Place Apartments to anyone, the price is just not worth it.

The worst apartment I’ve ever lived in! I’ve only been here 2 months and I’m miserable. If you are thinking of renting here DON’T! The apartment staff has been rude and have harasses us 5 times in 2 months! They have also entered out apartment on two separate occasions without our consent. If you are considering living here I highly encourage you to look elsewhere.

I lived there for 12 months last year, and while they advertised that they had newly renovated, my apartment was never renovated. The maintenance guys were always very nice and fixed repairs in a timely manner, but I thought it was overpriced for the condition of the apartment. And the gym was okay but nothing special.

Friendly staff, very helpful. Great deals at the end of month. Most apartments have recently been renovated. Diverse community. Great workout center.

The staff is rude, hung up on me, you can’t get ahold of anyone higher up. there have been multiple break ins. They intimidate their residents even if they are current on all bills. the pool is disgusting, there is vomit on our stairs yet to be cleaned up. Garbage sits on peoples door steps for days on end. All of the staff has a compulsive lying problem, they lie even when they don’t need to. They had an elderly man’s truck towed after the tires were STOLEN, because it didn’t comply with the lease. Keep in mind, the mans wife was in the hospital at the time. They tried to evict a cop who had a lease, because he wasn’t paying enough. The Connor Group has over 300 complaints against them with the BBB. If you want to keep your sanity, do not sign a lease with the Connor Group. They lie, steal, and cheat without any reservations. They are also trying to up our rent by over $ 200 by the time you add in all of the extra fees they make you pay for services they don’t actually provide. if you want to pay by credit card, they charge you $ 10 every time you pay.
