This location has great seating. It is so much better to experience a movie in a comfortable recliner with enough room for your elbows to relax in your space. Gone are the days of fighting the person next to you for control of the arm rest territory. With the push of a button you can put your feet up and even lean your chair back for maximum comfort level.
The concessions here are average in price and quality except for the addition of a bar where you can order some expensive alcohol if you wish to take it into the theater with you. This is a slight down fall from my perspective since other theaters will bring your food and alcohol to your seat, or at least sell it at the concession counter so you don’t have to make multiple trips if you want both an adult beverage and popcorn.
Overall I would definitely recommend seeing a movie here the personal space that the new seating gives you is great!

Stadium seating in all theaters where you can select and reserve which of their electric recliners in which you would like to enjoy the movie. Self-​service butter and soda stations are incredibly nice.
Seriously, this place makes seeing movies in the theater great again. It is the only place where I will take the family to see a movie before we can watch it at home. I highly recommend it!

What a great renovation of this theatre. If you ever came here pre-​reno, you will immediately appreciate the changes. The self serve freestyle soda area was clean and organized and the theatre was very clean. The seats were even clean and very comfortable. What’s more: very early matinée prices are only $ 5!

The renovations look great. The recliner seats were comfortable. The bathrooms were actually clean, what a pleasant surprise. The staff was ok, no one stuck out for any reason good or bad. My experience was tainted by other movie goers, not by the theater itself (the people next to me got a little too comfortable and PDA enthusiastic). I would definitely come back.

AMC has done a fantastic job of updating this theater! Reclining leather chairs with movable armrests and large cupholders… thank you! Lots of traditional and non traditional food and drink items… NICE!!! A lobby bar… oh, HECK YES!!!
We attended the Best Picture Showcase at the theater this year so we have two 10-​hr days at the theater and I have to say it was the most comfortable that we have been while attending this event. (Prior years it was held at Concord Mills AMC).
So, you’re probably wondering why I have such great things to say, but I’m only giving 2 stars? Good question… the answer is… the sub-​par staff and the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the facility. We witnessed the Manager demean the staff and the staff snap at customers and/​or have a «I would rather be anywhere else right now» attitude. Working with the public is hard… I get it! But, c’mon…at least pretend to want to service the people that allow you to have work to be paid for. The staff was also very slow to do any sort of cleaning. We arrived very early (we opened the place) and by the time I went to the restroom after the first movie, the self-​serve drink and popcorn condiment stations were disgusting. I’m not talking a little messy… I seriously mean DISGUSTING and they continued to look that way all day… both days. I can only imagine how difficult it is to keep anything clean that is self-​serve, but I didn’t witness anyone even attempting to clean. Even when they were refilling items, they didn’t clean the area at all. Our theater wasn’t fully clean when we arrived either… and, again, that was at 9:30 in the morning. That tells me that they didn’t do a good job of cleaning the night before. I tried to talk to the Mgr about it, but she just yessed me and moved on. I sent an email to the corporate office as well.
Why do I care so much?!? Because they just put a ton of time and money into refurbishing this facility and it is a VERY nice place. AMC deserves to have their investment cared for by their employees and the patrons deserve to get friendly service in a clean environment.
I will give this location another chance, but if it’s not improved we will take our movie and concession money to one of the many other local theaters.

I would give it zero if I could. Worst experience ever. Only had one line open and all but one of the kiosk was working. It took over 20 minutes to get my ticket. Then the concession stand attendees were slow at best. I missed 10 minutes of my movie.

So I haven’t been to this AMC in a while, but there have been A LOT of changes. It appears they’ve gutted the building and replaced the carpets and went for a modern, streamlined look.
I’m not going to tell you how old I am, but I remember when this theater was one of Charlotte’s first theaters to offer stadium seating. «THE» place to go to watch movies… for a couple years. Then some shady shooting stuff happened and I’ve kinda avoided it ever since. Kudos to AMC for the face-​lift and the added reserved seating feature.
There’s a definite difference when you are walking up to the place after parking since there aren’t two ticket boxes anymore… one has been walled off and replaced by 3 kiosks. I guess that’s the equivalent of replacing grocery store cashiers with u-​scans… but I digress.
I love how you try to buy tickets for a R rated movie, get a warning that the movie is rated R… and then it just sells you the ticket… I guess they enforce it upon entry? Or maybe the fact that I used a credit card validated my age… hummm.
Due to being un-​aware of the assigned seating change… We went and got stuck in the first row of the Revenant… luckily the seats are brand new and they recline… so watching Leonardo DiCaprio while fully horizontal was a new experience for me, but it wasn’t horrible.
Concessions seemed to be the same… though they added the do-​it-​yourself coke machines to flank the main concession stand… maybe the lines will go quicker since the person taking your order doesn’t have to pour you a drink. Speaking of… there’s a bar! Looks like they are catering to the adults in the house and serving beer. I didn’t quite get a close enough look at the menu, but it’s a great option to have rather than sneaking airplane bottles in… I mean that’s what I heard people did in the past…
Overall… a good experience. I just wished that the theater is located in a less busy area. It totally makes for a stressful situation if you are already running late to the movie and you have to fight the regular shopping traffic and 485 traffic on top of it all.

This theatre has the best seating. Large reclining chairs! I feel like it’s the best way to watch a movie! Due to the large seat, shows can sell out quickly. I feel like they could do a better job cleaning the floors in the lobby but the theatre is always clean. They also offer self serve Coke freestyle machines and ICEE machines which is always nice and convenient.

I absolutely love the new renovations and upgrades! The new auto recliner seats are amazing! They are so comfortable you have to try to not fall asleep! Lol. And I noticed this weekend they are now putting a bar in the lobby! Nice! The only complaint I have is they have now started assigned seating for all shows. I hate this. I like to sit where I want and be able to move if I want. First come first serve. I can see it maybe for busy nights and premieres, but if I’m going to a movie at 10am on a Sunday morning when it’s not busy and spending good money on a ticket and concessions, I should be able to sit where the heck I want. Plus it’s holding up the ticket line as people have to look at a seating chart of what seats are open and choose seats. This really sucks and is my only complaint. I hope they change this.

Very good installations. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I was visiting from Atlanta and wanted to catch a movie, looked on Unilocal and this movie theater had good reviews. So I checked it out, reserved my ticket on fandango and payed the «convenience fee» but yet I still had to wait in line for in the cold for my ticket. There was only one cashier open and there was another lady inside the box office just scratching her atrocious hair wile their was a long line of customers standing in the cold. When she finally decide to do her job (after 10 minutes of scratching) was my turn and I asked her what was the point of paying a convenience fee if there was nothing convenient about standing in line in the cold. She just shrugged, and said «there ain’t nothing I can do! The the ticket lady was very rude as well! I’m not in the habit of writing bad reviews but they deserve it. Save your money. Go somewhere else.

I hated this theater. Everytime I went someone would talk through the whole movie. Also the floor had a smell to it.

I guess I’ll go with four stars on this one. As a proud STUBS member, this is my go-​to theater.
I appreciate AMC’s decision to upgrade this location. It was much needed. The comfortable recliners are a plus — as they definitely needed to get rid of those crusty old original body holders. Side note: I really don’t need a recliner to watch a flick, but apparently that’s a big plus to a lot of you. And judging by people’s reactions when they sit down — there are a lot folks just experiencing recline-​able contraptions for the very first time … odd.
They have removed one bank of human staffed ticket windows, which could become a real issue during busier times.
According to an article I read — yeah! people still read! — they have replaced screens and sound systems. That is always a plus. I also, which I figured this out but didn’t know an exact figure, they reduced seating by approximately 60%.
That leads into my next frustration, nah, confusion on the Reserved Seating concept. Christmas night I understand — they were sold out. But, recently I chose my seat for a non-​seller-​outer and when I walked in to the theater a family was sitting in my seat. (I just ended up sitting somewhere else) What’s the point if people aren’t going to follow it? Why not just sell the exact number of tickets that there are seats? I could see this becoming a major issue and distraction if movie-​goers arrive late. Because it actually happened during my last movie to a threesome that showed up after the start.
The popcorn still tastes the same and the Soda Freestyle machines are always a plus. It will be interesting to see how the beer, wine and liquor part ends up when they finally complete construction.
The updated restrooms are nice and clean. Although cleanliness was never issue, for me, here — but they seem ‘fancy.’ They have reduced the number of sinks — which I guess isn’t a problem considering it seemed several of them never worked anyway.
Overall, nice job AMC.

I went to see the new Star Wars movie here, and I was floored. Everything from the service, the theater’s new Renovations, right down to the freshness of the popcorn (and I’m a popcorn connoisseur) was wonderful! If you haven’t been there since they remodeled, I highly recommend doing so. When you purchase your tickets at the ticket booth, they show you a screen (much like an airline) and you can choose where you would like to sit, and then they print your ticket. They have Coca Cola freestyle fountains (100+ drink choices) and they are self serve. The theaters are carpeted now and the seats are red cushy recliners with a liftable arm to encourage cuddling. The only thing that they need to fix… and it’s minor –is the size of their supposedly large popcorn. The popcorn is delicious, but their large popcorn is about the size of a medium anywhere else. Now granted, they do allow free refills, but who wants to get up in the middle of a great movie to refill their popcorn! Also, when you have a large group, the popcorn «tubs» (for lack of a better word) are great.

I’m torn about this review because I really want to rant about AMC corporate however this is a specific Theaters page lol. Anyways moving on… I haven’t been to this theater since I was in high school! That said they’ve done some major upgrades and renovations.
The theater itself was clean, and the staff was friendly. They have the self serve drink stations and the usual suspects of popcorn, candy, etc. Once you get into the screening room they have the recliner seats. I hadn’t had to joy of sitting in one before and when I accidently hit the button as I was sitting the leg popped out and scared the crap out of me lol. I usually go uptown with friends or the Ayrsley Theater because it’s cheap and next to my work. Also who knew (apparently I’m behind the times) that if you go to the movies in the morning it only costs $ 5.14. That’s awesome! Anyways the seats are super comfortable and it’s like you’re watching from a recliner in your home, although after about two hours of sitting in any chair things start getting uncomfortable. People can walk by and you don’t have to put the leg of the chair down. One drawback of this is when people walk by during the movie even if they aren’t in your row, they still block the screen. Small nitpicking issue really lol. All in all I’d recommend this theater, at least for a movie screening!
FYI: I am not a fan of the gift card situation they have going on. I received one for Christmas and apparently I can’t use it online. Makes reserving seats (which you have to do) a chore for movies that are even remotely popular. I had to go to the theater the day before I wanted to watch Star Wars and buy our tickets. Was a big hassle. I called corporate about it and they said they changed their system and there’s nothing they could do about it. The guy wasn’t very helpful and seemed rather annoyed that I called about it. I’d give AMC the company 1 Star if I could review them, however this theater in particular I didn’t have any issues with.

Very impressed! Amazing movie-​going experience! I believe this theater has recently been renovated. Inside, the projection and sound are perfection. The best part is the seating. There are very few seats in the theater because all the seats are now plush leather-​like recliners. Very spacious and comfortable. It’s almost like watching the movie in bed.
The popcorn was decent. There were long-​ish lines at the concessions and ticket booths, but you have that everywhere. The location is a little strange… tucked all the way back in this shopping center.
Best theater in Charlotte.

This will be our «go-​to» movie theater. Power leather reclining seats. I was practically on the horizontal and felt like I was watching a movie in bed. So comfortable. The sound system was incredible. Butter machines in the lobby! Reserve your seat on-​line for an extra $ 1. Worth it. When you get to the theater walk right up to a kiosk, choose «pick up ordered tickets,» insert your credit card, and it’ll spit out your tix. Took ten seconds.
One of the best things about reserved seats is that you don’t have to get to a popular movie way early to get a decent seat.

Wow! My wife and I went on Sunday afternoon to see Creed what a change. I used to hate going to this theater but now it is going to be my go to theater. They redid the interior made it a little more nice inside nothing to extreme. The concessions was a little slow but they did get hit with a big crowd I don’t think they were expecting. Now for the best part inside the theater we now have recliners for all seats big cozy recliners. The screens are much bigger now and the sound system is amazing. But it’s the seats that sold us. The show was a sell out and usually that means being elbow to elbow with people you don’t know. Not anymore was the best Sold Out Movie experience I have ever had!!! If you haven’t been there or were turned off like me GO BACK Complete Change!

WOW! The remodel is done and I won’t go anywhere else. Real reclining seats and new sound. Man this place rocks now!

I’m obsessed. Literally. With the recent renovations, this is by far my favorite theater in Charlotte (that I’ve been too).
They have put in all new, full-​size, power-​reclining chairs in their theaters that are so comfortable you could easily drift into dream world while watching the newest flicks.
It’s never too crowded at this theater, there is plenty of parking, AND they have a good selection of food if you’re looking for more than candy and popcorn.
OH, OH, OH. AND, you get to butter your own popcorn here, so that gives AMC 22 50 extra brownie points.
