Andrew Roby is more than the leading home remodeler. The company also specializes in new home construction, commercial upfitting and handyman services. Roby Electric, a subsidiary of Andrew Roby, also offers electrical services that meet the company’s high standards. Roby Coastal began operations in the fall of 2010 at Atlantic Beach to serve the Carolina coastal region. History

Established in 1950.

60 Years & Counting

In 1950, Andrew Robicsek, a Hungarian immigrant, founded a one-​man remodeling and handyman service. Now, more than 60 years later, Andrew Roby (Robicsek changed his name) is the largest custom residential remodeler in the Charlotte, N.C., region.

Two years after starting the company, Robicsek hired Glenn Haston as superintendent. The two would work together for over 25 years, establishing the fledgling organization’s reputation.

In 1976, Haston bought the firm outright from Robicsek — but kept the name — and today, the second and third generation of Haston’s extended family work for the firm. Meanwhile, Andrew Roby Inc. has established two subsidiaries: Roby Electric and D&R Properties, a real estate investment and management firm.
