Blue Olive Lounge

Ugh. How do I start this? Well, the upside is there is decent music… the upside stops there. The service is spotty and the prices are about average. Nothing about this place makes you want to come back. To top it off, the poor owner/​manager is just some middle aged dude that is hitting on young women while wearing an affliction shirt. Sort of sad. Nothing makes me want to come back to this sketchy place. Find somewhere else in Ballantyne if you are looking for something with class.

Trashy clientele cultivated by a trashy owner. Not exactly sure how this place is open in ballantyne. Get there soon before it closes.

Not buying it…

Not very loungey. This really just looks like a small neighborhood bar in a similarly nondescript strip mall. I was hoping for some couches. My date and I took one look inside and decided to drive all the way to uptown instead. If you are looking for some place classy and intimate, I don’t recommend here. On the plus side, no cover and no waiting.

Mardi Gras event was great. Nice cozy lounge atmosphere. Hooka was good, love the watermelon-​mint flavor. Awesome drinks w/​$ 5 Comos’s & $ 2 Coronas. Bar maids were very attentive even w/​the busy & increasing crowd. Only catch is, this place has no appetizers what’s so ever. And if you’re anything like me, when I drink & «hooka’n»., I need some snacks to munch on. They did give me some pretzels but soon ran out.

Two words… DJ ROCKS
I kinda don’t even want to tell you about my experience here because it’s my new fav.
I forgot I was in Ballantyne, the DJ was rocking all types of old school hip hop and r&b, the hookah flavors were on-​point, service very good and drinks yummy.
I had a Honey Bourbon… something. it was great.

Hookah? Yes please. Multiple screens during the World Series and football season? Hell yeah. Bomb ass music from your high school days? CAN I GET A WHOOP WHOOP? Now bounce with me, bounce with me… did I just date myself? Yep, I think so.
We came here for some drinks and hookah after dinner. The place was dead and we were told it would get busy when the DJ came on — nope never did. All good though. Like I said, the music was good and the TV was on for the fellas so we were able to hang for awhile. After a few rounds though, we left in search of something more lively. But all in all, this is my kind of place. Wish there was a chill lounge like this in LA.

Hey last week I was at blue olive lounge and they had a Halloween party with The Social Flockers and it was packed, the service was very good and the Dj was great so don’t believe everything you hear and read just check out the place yourself it’s a good spot in Ballantyne

I’m not sure what the experiences are that have been expressed by some reviewers. I have been there 3 times now. 2 times on a Thursday night and it was very quiet but it was nice to sit on one of the couches and be able to talk and enjoy a good drink. I was just there this past Friday night for a Halloween Party and the DJ was awesome, the people were having a great time, & I saw No evidence of what some of these people have said about bouncers or anything else negative. I love a nice little lounge and I like the seating options in this place and the drinks are always done to perfection including my blue cheese stuffed olives for a dry martini. If you like the lounge environment I would say try it. I have not tried a hookah yet but will be doing so soon.
We need more adult lounges in the Charlotte area especially in Ballantyne so try supporting these businesses.

Very bad experience, went yesterday night and literally told the bartender if she could take care of us, she replied yes and never came around us to get our order, after 20 minutes I decided to leave, won’t be going back!

My roommate and I love this place. It’s the best place in Ballantyne to have a drink, smoke hookah and just relax. I know that there are several comments/​ratings about an incident that happened last weekend. Everyone has a bad day and the owner reached out to my personally about the incident. He’s a stand-​up guy who runs a solid business. I can’t wait to get home from Boston and head to the Blue Olive!

The décor inside the Blue Olive is absolutely stunning! There looks to be custom paintings on the walls which are beautiful! And the lighting is captivating! The music is current & the service is on point. It’s the only place I’ve found in the area that offers hookah & has a comfortable atmosphere to enjoy it in.
To sum it up… this place is comfy yet classy. There’s no better place to enjoy a cocktail!

This place is horrible. Roid rage bouncers who strong arm customers out the bar for no apparent reason and a douchebag owner who doesn’t seem to care about his customers. Also the hookahs in this place sucked and the owner, after exchanging ours 3 times, made a smart mouth comment like it was our issue if the hookah was bad. Wouldn’t recommend this place and I won’t be back.
Clearly ML C. is the owner or an employee of the bar since all the reviews and tips come from this individual. One I never spoke to a female bartender all night other than to order a drink. Second yes I did say something to a male bartender or bar-​back, but I don’t think requesting a tab to leave requires any smart mouth response from someone behind a bar I haven’t spoken with all night. Not sure if ML C. is aware but it is illegal for bouncers to grab customers unless the bouncer or someone else is physically touched. The bouncer’s job is to ask the customer to leave which I was trying to do not come up behind them unaware and place in a choke hold. I also heard from others who have been in the bar this isn’t the first time the bouncers were a little over the top.

This is a horrible bar with terrible customer service! The bouncer should be taken to jail for assaulting my husband. They choked him when he was closing out his tab and had him pinned down on the ground for no apparent reason. He hadn’t interacted with the bartender all night so there was no reason the bouncer felt inclined to touch my husband. The police were called and the owner didn’t seem to care. Never seen a bar that puts you in a headlock when you close your tab out! Don’t support this business! You never know who the bouncers will lay their hands on next!

This place has horrible bouncers. I was in this bar enjoying a drink when all of a sudden a bouncer grabbed a customer that was trying to pay his bill and put him into a head lock and pulled him down on the ground. As I was sitting there witnessing this I felt very unsafe and bad for the customer as he had done nothing wrong. I won’t be going back to this place as they have unreliable staff. This is not okay! Don’t go there unless you like to be in unsafe environments!

They have great monthly specials, average priced drinks, friendly bartenders, and I love the décor. Definitely my favorite bar in the ballantyne area!

Cool new place to go in Ballantyne! Great music selection and drink specials! Bar is huge which makes it easier to get a drink when it’s busy. They have a few tvs for those game days as well :)
