Cassandra has over 40 years experience, starting in one of the finest Men’s clothing stores in Lumberton, NC.

Business Owner

Cassandra was born and raised in Lumberton, North Carolina. Though she was very active in school and in the community, most of her spare time was spent at the sewing machine. When most girls her age were playing with dolls and tea sets, Cassandra was sewing, making her very first dress at the age of ten. Her very first job as a helper at the finest Men’s Clothier in Lumberton gave her experience and the know how to alter clothes. After graduation, Cassandra moved to Charlotte to attend King’s College, graduating with a diploma in Fashion Merchandising.

After many years in the corporate arena, Cassandra has decided to turn her passion into business in the Charlotte North Carolina area. Along with a passion for alterations, she enjoys serving others. Her passion for working with brides and altering bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses led her to the wedding industry.

She is not only a member, but also serves on the board of the Charlotte Chapter of The National Association of Weddi

Sweet Cassandra & Edna made my day — my tailor was/​is suddenly hospitalized and I needed my dress altered with gussets… after contacting 35… Cassandra saved the day!

I live in Huntersville and usually go to the University area for my alterations but didn’t have time to drive over there so I thought I would give Cassandra’s a try. I had 2 pairs of women’s jeans hemmed for $ 24, about $ 6 more than what I’m used to paying. They were completed on time and the length is fine but it’s the way they are hemmed that seems odd to me. There’s a hard crease above the sew line so now when my jeans come out of the dryer they want to roll up where the crease is. I have a hard time keeping them straight. More than likely won’t return.

Places like Cassandra’s are why Unilocal is great! It’s hidden but it is definitely a gem. I dropped off three pieces — shorts that dropped a hem, a dress with a hole under the zipper and jeans that needed a new zipper. Three repairs for $ 29. Can’t beat that! All three items look good as new.

I recently purchased some slacks and jeans and needed some alterations. After a number of failed attempts to locate the tailor I had used in the past… I found Cassandra’s. I placed a call and made appointment to come in for fitting for the items. I needed the slacks hemmed and cuffed. And I needed the jeans hemmed. I was very pleased that the items were ready when promised in just a couple of days. And the slacks/​jeans were hemmed and cuffed to perfection. I highly recommend Cassandra’s and will certain return for other alterations for other clothing!!! Also, the shop is conveniently located in a small mall… with easy and accessible parking.

Excellent quality alterations at very good prices. I found Cassandra’s positive reviews on the internet and had a new suit that needed the pants and jacket sleeves hemmed. Cassandra did a beautiful job. So I went back a second time with a blouse that needed complicated cuffs shortened. Again, it was done perfectly. I’m sold. Any alterations I need done in the future are going to Cassandra.

I had a bridesmaid dress altered. The top section featured a stiff organza overlay that stuck out much too far for my small chest. This seemed like a tricky alteration to me, since it wasn’t a simple matter of tucking in existing seams, but Cassandra did a great job and the dress was very flattering. The dress did not need any further adjustments after the initial alteration. Her prices are good and her work is quality.

I found out about Cassandra’s on the internet and was impressed with all of her good customer reviews. I took a couple items in yesterday to be hemmed. Her price was very good and reasonable and even though I told her I was in no rush, she told me I could pick them up the next morning. She did an excellent job and was a pleasure to deal with as a local customer. She conducts herself in a professional friendly manner that makes you feel good about doing business with her.

If you are ever in the Charlotte area or live there and need emergency help with alterations, do not hesitate, Cassandra’s is the place you MUST go. I had a dress designed while stationed overseas but I couldn’t try the dress on prior before being sewn together. I received the dress 2 days before my sister’s wedding and I was maid of honor. I wear a size 12. The dress was made for a size 4⁄6. It was horrible!
I flew from Los Angeles into Charlotte and searched the yellow pages. I went to two different places that could not fix it. Cassandra’s website showed it closed on Monday, but I still called.
She was in the shop on her day off and told me to come by to see if she could assist. From the time I walked in her shopped she immediately gave a warm feeling of, «I am sure I can help». She spent that day and the next day to basically remake the dress all over again during a busy holiday… July 4th.
Her rate was super cheap and she simply took a stressful situation and just said, «Don’t worry, I will fix it, and you will be okay.» She gets 10 stars instead of 5. Thank you Cassandra’s Alterations.
