Hornets Nest Regional, AACA produces Charlotte’s most famous and celebrated AutoFair event, taking place every spring and fall. The AutoFair event is a gathering of over 10,000 avid car collectors, sellers, and buyers, all of whom showcase their finely restored and uniquely detailed classic cars. Hornets Nest Regional provides booths for the myriad of car clubs, private collectors, and entrepreneurs looking to connect and show off their collection of vintage cars. Everyone is welcome to participate in the greatest collector car event in the Southeast! The Charlotte AutoFair has brought car collectors and enthusiasts together for more than 30 years. The bi-​annual four day event consists of fair vendors that are sprawled along 150 acres with over 150,000 guests expected to attend. Hornets Nest Regional now extends this invitation to venders and collectors everywhere with over 10,000 open spaces that are available for restoration parts, cars for sale, and innovative automotive products. More than 1,600 collector vehicles are for sale on the Speedway oval, in addition to more than 500 collector vehicles on sale in the Flea Market areas. History

Established in 1967.

The Hornets Nest Region was chartered in 1967 by the AACA during their Hershey meeting. The Hornets Nest Region was originally chartered with twelve members and has now grown to more than 500 members in a wide area around Charlotte and surrounding counties.

The general goal of the AACA is to restore vehicles twenty-​five years old, or older, to the condition as it left the factory when new. Restored vehicles are judged on the following basics: interiors restored using the original factory type materials and design, including all chrome and metal finishes; exteriors restored using colors and paint finish original to the vehicle, including all chrome and metal finishes; engine compartments restored to new condition with the type of engine original to the vehicle, including all accessories; chassis restored to new condition with all components as original.
