Charlotte Movement Arts and Gyrotonic Charlotte NoDa was founded in 2014 by former professional ballet dance Alissa Getz Waller after her relocation from Chicago.

Business Owner

Alissa Getz Waller is a Specialized Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Level 2 Master Trainer, a PMA Certified Pilates Trainer, and a Certified Classical Ballet Instructor. Alissa has been a Gyrotonic Master Trainer since 2004 and has taught the entire system since 1999. Formerly a professional Ballet dancer, Alissa gravitated to the Gyrotonic system originally as a means of rehabilitating her chronic dance injuries. Alissa is also a Certified Pilates Teacher through the Pilates Method Alliance, a Fellow member of the Cecchetti Council of America, serves on the Southeast Committee of the CCA, and is a graduate of ABT’s National Teacher Training Curriculum. Alissa founded and ran her first studio, Chicago Northshore Gyrotonic Studio for 8 years before relocating to Charlotte and opening Charlotte Movement Arts & Gyrotonic Charlotte NoDa in 2014 where she teaches private client sessions, conducts group classes, and offers teacher training and continuing education to movement professionals.
