Whoa. I really love pop-ups but this one left a little to be desired. It was just too crowded. They advertised free bubbly to the first 100 people. The actual execution was pretty terrible. There were people that were in line much longer that didn’t get any bubbly because it was so disorganized. We didn’t’ stay long because it was so crowded. I hope they do a better job of planning it next year!

Great venue! I had an awesome time socializing and supporting local vendors. However, It was very crowded. The 7th Street Market isn’t very big as it is, and then you add 50 vendors. It was a recipe for disaster, but I expected it. Especially, since there was free wine and cheese. In my opinion, It would have worked out better if the event was for a few days. It could give people more time to shop and enjoy their visit. Thanks Nikki for getting the«thank you» cards together. I am sure they will appreciate it. Also, Eric at Massage Works of Charlotte thank you for enlightening my day!

It’s no secret: I freaking love 7th Street Public Market. The only way to make it better: add the holidays and some bubbly. The market brought in dozens of amazing local vendors to set up for this pop up market. I know there were some complaints about the crowd. Personally, watching so many people come out to support local businesses was incredible. I just don’t think there’s such a thing as too much. The biggest problem was the very beginning because people mobbed trying to get their hands on a free glass of champs. Come on people, just go buy a drink. I bought a couple of really neat presents. I can write about both of them here because 1) I already gave Lauren’s hers and 2) Hudson is a year and a half and cannot read this. For Lauren, I got a really cool hand-painted pallet sign about mermaids. For little Huddy Bear, I bought two books: the ABCs of Charlotte and the 123s of Charlotte. The authors signed both books for him. Very cool. So, what do you need to know for this event: the market validates parking for 7th Street Station, but it’s only good for 90 minutes. You’ll have to pay for parking if you go past 90 minutes. If you plan to eat, take your food outside! It gets pretty busy inside and there’s limited places to grub. Shout out to Toni, Chris, Ben, all the regular market vendors, and all the pop ups for a fun evening. Thank you for supporting local and everything you do for uptown.

Packed out! Tons of Charlotteans, local venders and good eats. I thought 7th Street Market was a perfect venue, however I left wishing the booths were a little more spread out or a bit more space for the flow of traffic. Aside from that, I enjoyed the beer on tap and hand crafted jewelry. A great event to pick up those last few Christmas gift on your list. I can’t resist a pop up shop to support local venders.

Way too crowded! Seemed like there were lots of great vendors(I LOVE Muro jewelry) but we couldn’t get within 5-feet of any tables. I was tolerating the crowds until I realized that all the exits were blocked/locked. We spent about 10 minutes trying to leave and went to have dinner at Queen City Q. Some crowd control(maybe timing entrances, selling tickets for a nominal fee, hosting 2 – 3 nights of the same market, etc.) would do this event good next year!
