Established in 2005.

J. Studio is owned by Joey Hewell and is located in the heart of Southend just 1 block away from Bland St Lightrail Station. We are the official stylist for Fox News Charlotte as well as SEEN Uptown Magazine in which Joey Hewell is the Fashion Editor for. Along with creating cutting edge hair styles, we design and create couture garments as well as women’s heels. You can see Joey on Fox News Fashion Fridays every Friday morning updating you on the latest trends from around the world and bi-​monthly in SEEN Uptown Magazine showcasing Charlottes premier boutiques and department stores.

Business Owner

After graduating from Aveda Institute in Charlotte, NC, Joey began working with local magazines, creating out of this world imagery for fashion spreads. He owned J. Studio in 2005 where he began his career styling the on-​air talent for Fox News Charlotte. Since then he has become the go-​to guy for anyone looking to update their image, including several key leaders in the Carolinas. He is now a regular on Fox Charlotte, including his segment Fashion Fridays every Friday morning at 8:45. He is also the Style Editor for SEEN Uptown Magazine as well as Charlotte Connoisseur.
