Out of five arborists, Marc won my business and I made the right choice. I had a 100′ tall oak that was 3in from my house. His team took care of it and another one close to my house, with ease in a timely manner. I have a very wooded lot and Marc spent a lot of time with me to discuss option on what needs to be removed, or trimmed and what does not. His customer service is impeccable and his team are masters in their work. I will certainly be calling Marc back for future work.

We had 10 – 12 small stumps that needed to be taken care of and Marc and Brandon made sure that the job was done to the highest standards. The price was great and much lower than others had quoted. The job was completed the next day after I called and was completed by true professionals. They cleaned up and left the yard in better condition than they found it. I cannot say enough good things. It is very rare that a company has outstanding employees. Every one that worked was professional, caring, and safety oriented. We had a dozen massive pine trees removed and I wad speeches at their skill and respect for my home. Would highly recommend and will be using them next year for phase 2 of our landscape plan. We hired them again! They did such a great job for us when we needed some large trees trimmed, that we used them to remove two large trees that were dying. When I say large trees, I mean BIG — approx 4′ in diameter and close to 40′ tall. Not only did they remove the trees without leaving any clean up on our part, but they cut the trees down so that we’ll be able to burn them in our fireplace once they’re seasoned. We will use Marc and his team again when we need tree service and we would definitely recommend them to others!

They removed 3 very tall trees for us, including stump removal. The crew arrived as scheduled and completed the job as promised. All of the crew is very skilled at their jobs and safety conscious. We have already recommended them to others and will contact them again if we need more tree service.

Marc did an amazing job. My home’s curb appeal improved more than I thought was possible by tree pruning. Marc and his crew transformed a damaged Bradford Pear to a nice looking tree. Something I didn’t think was possible. Marc also removed damaged trees from my back yard. Crew did a fantastic job cleaning up. At the end of the day would never know they were there. Marc is a great guy and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I’m not sure what this other person is thinking — sometimes there’s just no pleasing people, I guess. I have used Marc’s Tree Service on three occasions. I found him on the list and he had something like 200 good reviews at the time. How exactly do you think he faked all of those reviews? Maybe people just think he does a good job…
I live on the lake and I had four or five quotes for the first round of work. Marc’s prices were right in the middle of the bunch — I didn’t hire him on price. I hired him because he showed up on time for the estimate and had a lot of ideas for my property that the other guys did not mention at all. I also got the sense that he wasn’t going to nickel and dime me after the fact.
He cleared some dead trees for me — we lost a couple of big pine trees and that was the impetus to finally get the work done. He also did a major uplift of everything in back to open up our view of the water. He picked out all of the scraggly trees and underbrush and wow! everything looked so great afterwards.
They started at bout 7:30 in the morning and were there for the whole day. It was over 100 degrees. When I got back from work, they were still working. Marc brought in his colleague who does the stump grinding and it was almost getting dark. I can’t believe how they were able to get all of the stumps even on the edge of the bank. In the end, it was all done in one day. Everything was chipped and hauled away. No mess on my driveway, no muddy ruts in the yard. A nice pile of mulch for me to use was the only evidence. His bill was exactly what he said it would be and he even did some extra branches at no charge.
Since then, I have had him back every year to trim back the suckers and tidy up. The pricing has always been good and the work has been better than expected. This year, I had his crew come in and do the whole front yard as well as the back. They pruned everything and brought all of my bushes back down below the windows. As usual, the work was good, everything was neat at the end and my trees look great.

Over priced and over rated. Not impressed with Marc or his service. Little work with a BIG price tag. I will not recommend or use him again.

Let me first say, don’t trust the reviews on AngiesList. Really, how many legitimate customers of a local tree service can post glowing reviews every couple of days for months on end? Hopefully Unilocal screens its reviews better.
I hired Marc in 2010 when he was new in the business. He gave me a great price for a job that included removal of two trees and pruning of several. I was glad I could be on site for the pruning activity as these guys are chop happy and they’re clearly not arborists. He also mislead me about a few things, but given the great price I was willing to overlook the details. I referred several customers to Marc (for tree removal only), and one later informed me that she might use him for tree removal again and another who said he absolutely wouldn’t hire him again. (Since I wasn’t directly involved in those other experiences, I don’t think it would be fair for me to comment on them here.)
I called Marc in 2011 for a dead tree removal, and I couldn’t get a return call. After several days, I finally reached him and he told me that business was good and that he couldn’t justify doing work for people who were looking for a good price. That was after 3 referrals to him. I won’t call him or refer him again because he’s not trustworthy and is only out to make a buck.
