History

Established in 2014.

Niravadhi Yoga is located in historic Brevard Court (Latta Arcade), in the heart of downtown Charlotte, NC. It is in this setting that we strive to provide an authentic and balanced yoga experience. Not only do we focus on the physical practice of postures (asana), we also incorporate practice of breath awareness (pranayama) as well as mantra, or the repetition of words and phrases to effect the more subtle energetic qualities of the mind and body. Through this balanced approach, a beautiful quality arises… the practitioner begins to experience compassion. Through compassion, the true purpose of yoga is achieved. We become happy, at peace, and productive in all aspects of life.

Our instructors have studied numerous lineages, and learned directly from modern masters such as Andrey Lappa, in an effort to delve deeper in to the science of yoga so that we may provide the highest quality of instruction possible. All are welcome. Yoga is for anyone and everyone.

Meet the Business Owner

Gordon C.

Business Owner

I came to yoga as a training regimen to increase my strength, flexibility and focus for rock climbing. After a steady home practice of just a few weeks, I not only noticed improved climbing performance, but recognized some benefits I didn’t expect. In addition to feeling physically stronger and healthier, I was compelled to take a more a mindful approach to my every day life. Problem solving came a little more naturally, stress and tension were more often met with calm and equanimity, and life in general just seemed a little lighter. After a chance conversation with my friend Diane Corah, I was inspired to teach and share the practice of yoga. I received my 200hr certification and have continued to pursue a larger understanding of the practice with various teachers of different lineages. Currently I am studying the Universal system of yoga with Andrey Lappa in a continuing effort to evolve both professionally and personally. It is my honor to be a steward of the practice of yoga.
