Very nice, but as I was looking at frames I noticed they had the model sharpied out on the inside of the frame. I was taking a photo of the frame and someone asked me not to. The owner said they weren’t a shopping catalog.
Right away I knew something was up. I found the frames online while I was in the store. SOUTHPARK OPTICAL LITERALLY MARKS UP over 60% of the value. A frame they sold in store was $ 235, but online they are $ 158. It’s 2015 where consumers have the purchasing power. I will literally post on our company internal website how much of a ripoff you are. You are robbing people and I hope our 66 000 employees who you advertise to never purchase from you.
I spoke with the individual who referred me to the store and she use to work for the owner. She said he would NEVER let anyone look at the invoice of the glasses when they were purchased through the manufacture.
William R. (OWNER) it’s absurd if you think your store front isn’t a shopping catalog. THAT’S exactly what you are! You are a store with items to sell. You don’t go to a car dealership and just buy a car there do you, William? No, you shop around. Would you go to Belk and buy a Polo shirt for $ 90.00 or buy it from Neiman Marcus for $ 150.00? I guess you would probably pay the $ 150.00?
I recommend that anyone who goes to Southpark Optical just memorize the numbers on the inside of the frame. Look at
and you can find almost anything. Give them a call, they are friendly, HONEST, and really well priced!

I called today to ask a question about their optical services and the man that I spoke to on the phone was so rude to me. He didn’t even give me a chance to explain how I needed help. He was rude from the first moment he picked up the phone. I work in a call center and know what good customer service is. That was not good customer service!

I went to Southpark Optical knowing exactly what I wanted to get. The woman that helped me was excellent, had my lenses in the new frames in 24 hours, they are comfortable, adjusted perfectly and I have been very satisfied with the service and my new frames for at least 2 months. I needed to go back in to get a copy of my receipt and charge receipt b/​c I had lost my original, I needed the copy for my insurance. My fault, I know, but I thought they would be able to come up with a copy. They did try, but could not find any record, but in the process of looking, the woman, who did all the great and much appreciated work on my glasses, insulted me by asking if I had bad credit! At the time, I passed it off, but later I realized just how unprofessional that one comment was, and how bothered I was by it. It is true, I dress in jeans and a sweatshirt, even to go the SOUTHPARK, but you don’t purchase glasses in a place like Southpark Optical, when there are lots of less expensive places to go, with people just as good as this women is at her profession, when you don’t have the money to spend. I will not step foot in the place again, they were unable to produce a copy of my transaction, she actually wrote me a new receipt. I assume knowing full well it would not work for my insurance. I knew when she gave it to me… I just couldn’t wait to get out of the store. I am sorry to be so negative, I work in a church near Southpark and will never recommend Southpark Optical to anyone. If you work in a professional business, where any customer is your livelihood, any negative comment towards a customer is BAD business.

Phyllis was very nasty on the phone. I was a potential customer until she was rude and seemed to be too bothered to do an item check. Not only will I not go there but I won’t recommend that anyone does. If you are rude over the phone how can I trust you to be nice in person or for that matter trust you with my vision!

I get that stores don’t always like to adjust eyewear that isn’t purchased there. There’s the liability that they might not do it correctly or that they might break the frame. I just moved here from Southern California and I didn’t want to wait another few weeks to go to the store I purchased these at to get them adjusted; so I figured, it doesn’t hurt to ask. What’s the worst that can happen? They say «no». No big deal. Apparently asking is a big deal here. Everyone I’ve met in NC has been polite, if not incredibly nice; but the man working here was so rude! I asked a simple question: «Would you be able to adjust my glasses?» This review would have been four stars, or not even existent if they had simply answered with something as normal and as cordial as «No, I’m afraid we can’t.» Instead, I left the store feeling like I had been punished for not buying glasses from the ridiculous monopoly of the Luxottica conglomerate. They also need to know what they’re talking about before passing judgment. Warby Parker has showrooms and boutiques, they just happen to sell online too. If they were as poorly made as the man was saying, I doubt they’d have the following they have and the partnerships they have as well. This was purchased at a showroom in Los Angeles. I understand that stores don’t want to take on the liability of adjusting glasses that aren’t purchased there, but don’t be rude. It’s just not necessary.

Went back to pick up the glasses and they are FABULOUS!!! Sadly, Brenda wasn’t there. The guy who helped me out this time was not as scion-​like with the glasses, but he was still helpful enough. He suggested that I walk around the mall and make sure I was happy with my frames and encouraged me to come back at any point with any complaints. Poor me, I HAD to window shop for a bit! But he was right; I totally got used to my new lenses after 30min of window shopping (although I dragged along hubby for a little longer just because — shhh, don’t tell him!!!).

Was visiting from out-​of-​town when my eye glasse frame broke, right at the bottom of the lens. I thought I would have to buy a complete frame and lens replacement.
Glen helped me find a frame that was close to my existing lenses and then actually re-​ground the lenses to fit the new frame.
I was stunned as I expected to get the sales pitch for new lenses and frames. And he did it while I waited.
This was customer service at its best and I am appreciative. I needed glasses now, and could not wait for a few days to have them made. They could have taken me to the cleaners, but did not.
Highly recommend this high integrity optical shop where the service is personal and the staff are really opticians, not someone off the street who got the 10 minute training as in Lens Crafters and some of the other «bargain» opticians.
Very professional and an extensive selection of frames and lenses.
Hard to rate the price range as they run the gambit from reasonable to super high prices. But you have choices.
