TCBY is a compromise in my family. My husband prefers Dairy Queen and other traditional soft serve ice-cream shops while I prefer Greek frozen yogurt places that have fruit and other healthy toppings. TCBY falls somewhere in the middle because I can get my plain Greek yogurt with fruit and Joe can get chocolate peanut butter yogurt with Reese’s Pieces and Snickers(opposites attract). Prior to trying the Piedmont Row location, we used to frequent the Montford TCBY which was always gangubsters crazy… I’m really puzzled why that location closed. Following the devastating news about the Montford TCBY closing, we decided to give the Piedmont Row location a try. The service has been great, the space is clean and inviting, but for some reason the past few visits(all of which have been on Friday nights) we’ve been the only people in the shop. I’m hoping they get most of their business in the day, because otherwise I’m fearful it won’t last long. Give TCBY in Piedmont Row a try, you won’t regret it and you’ll help increase the chances of there being a healthy-ish yogurt shop close to my house… which is good for my marriage :)

This TCBY is pretty standard as froyo joints go. Fill your cup with yogurt and the toppings of your choice, and pay by weight. I have visited several times and the service is consistent. They’re also consistently dead whenever I walk in. I guess I’m one of he few who wants froyo on a Monday afternoon. I hope they stick around. I’ve never been disappointed here; the yogurt flavor are varied and the toppings are plentiful. Workers are nice and the shop seems very clean — but the hand sanitizer station seems to have been broken for weeks.

This location is good for me because I live in the condos here — but no matter — because there is always plenty of parking in one of the decks — either the west or the east on levels one and two mostly. They have about 10 yogurts including sorbets/sherberts, fat free options and tons of toppings. You basically choose a container, fill it as much as you want, add your toppings and then weigh it — the cost per 1lb is the same for all the flavors. They have a loyalty program too, so ask for a card if you plan to stop in a lot. Really great treat anytime of day.
