Specialties

The Growing Tree specializes in hand-painted, custom murals and movable canvases for the home and business.

A mural makes a statement about you that is bold, lasting and one of a kind. They are an engaging, magical addition to any child’s room and can make your outdoor living area or garden feel like you’ve stepped into another world.

With a style unique to The Growing Tree we will transform a wall or even a whole room into a personal statement that truly reflects the clients and who they are.

We also specialize in portrait murals. These can make a space truly special, especially for children.

The Growing Tree does a great amount of work in interior design. From hand designed accent walls to the latest in faux finishing. We are available for illustrative work as well.

There are no limits in ideas and design… only our imaginations.

History

Established in 2010.

The Growing Tree was founded in Oaxaca, Mexico by the artist/owner Ariel Kirkland. The idea came from a «growing tree» she painted on her son’s wall and grew (no pun intended) from there. We have been in Charlotte, NC since 2011.

The Growing Tree specializes in custom work for each individual client from children’s rooms, to garden/outdoor living areas, to elaborate accent walls. Nothing is beyond reach as far as your ideas are concerned

Meet the Business Owner

Ariel K.

Business Owner

Ariel Kirkland is a professionally trained artist. She attended the University of Toledo for her BFA. Art has been a predominate theme throughout her life. Which landed her in many visually gifted programs before and throughout college. Aside from being a painter and sculptor she also is an illustrator. She has written a children’s book that is in the illustration process.

Ariel and her family moved here to Charlotte, NC in 2011 after living in Oaxaca, Mexico for two and half years. It was there that she began to entertain the idea of actually doing what she loves for a living. The inspiring beauty, joy, and sadness of Mexico were ready catalysts for professional, life changing events and projects that have all given way to who she is and what she is doing now.
