United States Post Office Founder’s Hall

This is a mom-​and-​pop USPS vendor as opposed to an actual USPS. If you’ve got some pre-​metered package, or there to buy stamps, it’s just fine. I drop off packages I already have packed and paid for here.
If not, I’ve been in line during the lunch rush and saw the back and forth with people trying to get stuff shipped. If you have to use them and need your item weighed there, just brace yourself. The actual post office is usually a better bet in terms of customer service. I wouldn’t say they’re rude, but the negative reviews shouldn’t be completely invalidated. Though, considering the location, they do get some snotty customers so I see where they’re coming from with some people.
I wish they’d get a card reader. If you have no cash, hit the Walgreens down the way and get $ 5 or $ 10 out unless your purchase will, indeed, be over $ 2.
It’s tucked away in an alley that Jamba Juice is beside. There are weird signs, and they’ve very likely taken down the worst of them due to complaints. I thought maybe I saw a few when I started working on this side of town, but there’s just some standard ones about where to stand in line, and them not taking $ 20s under a certain amount.
This is definetly one of the better USPS vendors I’ve been to. Usually the ones I’ve visited didn’t know what they were doing and acted like they were just playing store.

After reading all the negative reviews here, I was little bit hesitant to go to this place but thought of giving it a shot. First of all its not difficult to navigate to this place if you are paying attention to where you are headed to and if in doubt, there are so many security personnel around who can assist you. Take the escalator to one level up, make the first right beside caribou coffee and first left at the Jamba Juice. I’m not sure if they replaced the «rude» staff but this gentleman who was at the counter today afternoon (08/​06/​2015) was very courteous and friendly and I give my 5 stars for this.
Ohh yeah, I used their services for certified mail and bought a book of stamps with cash and didn’t see a sign of displeasure or arrogant behavior from the staff.

Worst customer service, even by post office standards! This location is not even an official post office but more of a vendor run store on behalf of the USPS.
As others have commented, they have about 10 signs of «rules» that must be obeyed «before you enter the line» end quote. Okay are we three years old?! And plus your going to be in line for 25 minutes anyways.
First rule: cash only. And worse than that, if you just got a $ 20 from an ATM downstairs and plan to buy two stamps, get ready for a scolding since they will have to count $ 19 in change. Newsflash… Get with the times and just take card people!
Second rule: have everything filled out. Oh you need to mail something international and need help knowing what you need to do? Forget about it. You should just go to FedEx where they gladly accept your patronage.
The rest of the rules you will have to read for yourself while you are in line. Which again you will have plenty of time.
The upside is the location — hidden within Founders Hall which is convenient for those working in nearby offices.
Conclusion: drive down the street to the main Post Office or walk down to the one in the basement of the Wells Fargo building. They are much nicer.

This place is really only convenient if you work downtown and need to mail something. It’s a bit tucked away… so if you feel like you are lost or not going the right direction, you are probably fine. Just look for the intersection of the Optometrist office and the Jamba Juice and take the little corridor around to the post office.
There are PO Boxes here too. Just a same regular post office service offerings, just compressed in a tiny space. It looks like the service window — which was closed at the time when I went to mail something early in the morning only holds one person so that would mean the line for this place would be rather annoying, but at least the post office is downtown.
Hopefully my RSVP and my letter make it to where they are going… Gotta wait and see!

I don’t like giving 2 and 1 star’s. I’m giving this post office a 1 ONLY for their customer service.
Third time coming to this location and every time the two behind the counter are rude. When I had tears in my eyes this time, she FINALLY lightened up a little bit.
I made sure I had my $ 20 CASH since they do not take credit cards, checks, nothing that is in this 21^st century. I learned that the hard way when I got scolded the first time. I made sure my purchases were more than $ 2.00 since they do not take $ 20 bills if your purchase is less than that. I learned THAT the hard way, too, when I again got scolded with a «it’s on the sign». –_​_​-​. I got a little nervous when I noticed I hadn’t written my address on the package yet and figured I could do that when I got to the counter.
.much. I walked up to the counter with a small wrapped package and a letter and the lady just clasped her hands and stared at me. I began to panic because I realized that I had done something wrong AGAIN. «Are you shipping this?» is what she said «um…yes I’d like to ship it regular mail please. No rush on mailing.» is my response. «well what does that mean regular mail? you need to put that in a package… you can’t ship that box and that letter like that.» «HUH? Ok. fine I’ll just mail it myself» as I started to have tears… I felt humiliated in front of a long line of people.
I started walking way and she told me to come back and finally started helping me. That was uncalled for. I also wrote the address on the wrong side of the package that she provided for me and she made sure I knew that and gave me a lesson in filling out a mailing label. I have never felt so low and she accomplished to make me feel that way. I will never go back. Like… ever.

Tucked in within Founders Hall, it can be a bit difficult to find. But once you do, it’s a very convenient location instead of going to the actual post office on McDowell. Cash only at this place and they don’t take won’t break $ 20 bills or larger if you have a purchase that’s $ 2 and under. Staff is friendlty and they must like their jobs because it’s been the same people working there for the past four years. They got rid of the stamp machines which kinda sucks if you need a stamp or two and there is a huge line you just gotta wait it out. Lines get super long around lunch time so morning when they first open or afternoon is your best bet if you’re in a hurry.

The location is convenient and the staff are nice enough, but daaaaaamn there can be lines. If you just need stamps, try to sneak past to the vending machines. Otherwise you could be here for 30 minutes.
Also, they don’t accept credit cards. Ugh.
