Visited this restaurant today with a friend today. Once you walk in there is nothing special, very laid back place. The food is cheap, and a little bit better quality than dishes you would find at a burger king. Service was just average, after the waitress dropped of the food, she never checked in again. So overall, I would only recommend this place to someone seeking an alternative to a burger king or similar type of place.

One of my go to places for lunch. I was first introduced to this restaurant back in the early 90’s. It has changed names and owners, but the menu has kept the burgers I love. It is a hole in the wall, but the burgers beat 5 Guys. The platters come with a large portion of fries and a choice of side. I never leave hungry and prices really cannot be beat. Caroline is always friendly and glad to see me and my friends.

Great food. Fair prices. Portions are off the chain.. Service is excellent. Basically, if you don’t like Brothers Bar and Grill then #### YOU. lol Great place, I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried from the menu. My fave is The Big Burger with a platter of wedges and (possibly, just don’t tell my wife) the best Mac salad in town!

Based on the food and service, this place is great. I got the BBQ special and it was fantastic. The ambiance isn’t anything to shake a stick at. Just a few bar stools and some booths/​tables. Overall great food and friendly service.

The former Big Jim. Awesome burgers, fries and onion rings, friendly service. Best local cheeseburger in Charlottesville. 2nd is Riverside, 3rd is five guys (not Charlottesville only), for relative comparison. Hand made ¼ lb juicy patties always cooked thoroughly (a real burger place never asks how you want your burger cooked, it’s not steak tartare), warm buns. Great price, walk away feeling satisfied yet not stuffed with a burger and fries. BBQ is good — not cooked on premise, if you are a BBQ snob you can likely find something to complain about though. I come here for the burgers. My only review becuase this place deserves attention.
