Top Notch Computers

The team at Top Notch is great! They exceeded every expectation. I had a MBP with a fried keyboard (spilled liquid on it), just the day before I was scheduled to be in Charlottesville, VA for a week. I looked these guys up, read the reviews here and stopped by Monday. Thoroughly knowledgeable, they believed they’d be able to repair before I had to leave. In the process, they found a couple of additional parts were needed; contacted me to let me know and then took the time to do the work correctly. Because they weren’t able to meet the promised date, they shipped it to my house at their own cost! I could not be more delighted! These guys are as good as it gets — professional, honest, and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend them — wish more businesses operated like this crew! Thanks!

I don’t normally trust repair folks, but immediately I changed my mind with these guys. Christian called me personally to talk about my computer and options. The work I’ve had done was amazing and I’ve been so happy. Keep doing what you do folks! Talking to us ‘non computer’ people and not making us feel silly is awesome!

Just had my first experience with Top Notch Computers and I am pleased to say that they did a great job. I left my Acer laptop with them because the screen stopped working. They diagnosed the problem and installed a new screen. Unfortunately my hard drive also had issues and it required them to do some additional work. They fixed it up migrated my data and gave me my old hard drive as well. AND THEY DIDN’T CHARGE ME EXTRA! All I can say is that these guys seemed very honest and concerned about fixing my computer the right way even though I was not happy to leave it an additional day.
The only reason its not 5 stars is that it took an extra day to get it fixed.

When my computer died I panicked because I thought for sure I would be paying an arm and a leg to repair it. Based on the Unilocal reviews I decided to try this place out, and I am so glad I did. The people here are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They were up front about their prices and what they were going to have to do with my computer. When I got the quote on the final price I was shocked at how low the cost was, and there were no surprises or hidden costs. Not only did this company restore all the data back to my computer that I thought was gone, but they did it for a fraction of the price other companies charged. I would highly recommend this place to anyone having computer problems. It is by far the best computer repair experience I have had.

i can’t say enough good about this company, or the owner, who is one of the most intelligent and and helpful computer person I’ve ever spoken with. He is very personable and disarming; I am an idiot when it comes to computers but he made me feel so much better by patiently explaining my options. I ended up spending much less than I had feared I’d have to after two other guys told me to junk my computer and tried to sell me new ones. They went way out of their way for me! I’ll never go anywhere else. but TOP NOTCH.

Reliable, knowledgeable, helpful, prompt, great pricing. Can’t get better than that. After moving from Silicon Valley to Charlottesville, getting help with a computer was extremely difficult. Very glad to have found them.

Couldn’t be happier. I’ll start by saying that about 4 – 5 years ago, I had been going to another place and they really screwed me over. I am loyal, and do not like to change contractors or providers.
But once I did, I was very glad! They were cheaper, friendlier, and really went the extra mile. They can do everything, in fact I used to live in NYC and they are more impressive than anyone there. Christian, Tori, and Andrew are all great people and love helping their customers as much as they can.
I find it disturbing that Unilocal will publish bad reviews and filter the good ones. Make sure to read filtered reviews when using Unilocal.Whoever is unsatisfied with the service provided by Chris and his cohorts most likely did not give them a chance to make things right. I’m with these guys 100% and will be as long as I’m here.

The short — Great personal service and very affordable.
The Long — I’m always cautious when getting my computer fixed. TNC has really earned my loyalty and repeat business now. I visited once about a year ago to get my screen on my laptop replaced and refreshingly had options presented to me. Because it was an older laptop I took the more affordable option and it is still working great! The second time I went in with a much more difficult request and I was so impressed by the time Christian took to really explain all the details to me. I like to understand the situation and then decide what option works best and TNC allowed me to do that.

I was referred to this place by a friend and thought it would be better than going somewhere that I didn’t have someone to refer me to, so I tried them.
The owner, Christian, is very professional and personable. He gave me several options when I brought in my old laptop to have it fixed and I ended up selling it to him for more than I thought I might get by selling it online. I opted to put the credit toward a newer laptop that he had. They started transferring over all of my data from my old laptop. It was so easy.
Due to my schedule, I wasn’t able to make it back to pick up my new laptop before they closed, but Tori, Christian’s tech, offered to meet me on her way out of town so I didn’t have to come back the next day. I was floored by the customer service. Then I found out that the owner drives other customers’ computers to their homes himself. Is this normal?
I have emailed this company again with computer questions and they’ve been great about getting back to me quickly. It’s hard to find people who know what they’re doing and don’t charge you an arm and a leg.
These guys really are Top Notch. :)

I love this place. Definitely my go-​to For tech help in Charlottesville. They have helped me keep my old, Previous work computer running tops for years, and I just bought a new computer from them and love it. They are consistently cheaper than everybody else around here, and faster too. They also seem able to do more things. On the rare occasion when they make a mistake, They always seem ready and willing to help rectify it, Unlike a lot of other places. A+++++!!!

I cannot speak highly enough of Top Notch Computers, Christian and his support staff. Not only are their services the best but they make a learning experience out of something that usually is such a drag! Christian personally sat with me, explained my options, problems and brought me to the most affordable solution! My computers (PLURAL!!!) are all working perfectly! We own macs and PCs — he is a wizard. I cannot tell you how great Top Notch is! I will Never use another company, in Charlottesville or beyond! Keep it local and keep it incredible!

Christian and his team are absolutely fantastic! To say the least, I am not tech savvy and so I cannot say how much I appreciate his honesty and fairness! He could easily pull the wool over my eyes, by fix my computer, and stick me with a huge bill– but he didn’t! He was clear in describing the issue, and dumbed it down so I could understand. I won’t take my computer anywhere else again!
