History

Established in 2004.

This location has been a Volvo dealer for over 30 years, and some of our employees have been here since the beginning. Prior to becoming Volvo of Charlottesville in 2004, it was known as SK Motors and then Herb Brown Volvo. Today we continue the tradition as a family-​owned business in Charlottesville, VA. Our dealership is part of Carter Myers Automotive, serving Central Virginia’s automotive needs since 1924.

Liza B.

Business Owner

Liza Myers Borches is the 4^th generation of her family to own a car dealership in Virginia. Her great-​grandfather, H. Carter Myers, founded Petersburg Motor Company in 1924. Over the years Liza’s grandfather, great aunt and Liza’s father all continued his tradition.

Liza graduated from the UVA McIntire School of Commerce and worked with American Honda for almost seven years. She returned to her hometown of Charlottesville in 2004 and purchased the local Volvo franchise, now named Volvo of Charlottesville. Today we are part of Carter Myers Autmotive, a group a 5 family-​owned dealerships in Central Virginia.
