I came 11÷14÷13 right after 8am to have a TB test administered and got right in. My test was done and I left at about 8:40. To have a TB test read you have to come back within 48 – 72 hours. The minute clinic didn’t open until 9am and because I’ve had TB tests done at other minute clinics(two in busy downtown Chicago which always read my test for me without a wait rather than forcing me to wait with sick and coughing people when I am NOT sick) the woman working promptly told me that I would have to wait amongst sick and coughing people for at least 40 minutes before she would read my test. Oh, did I mention that my boyfriend is in chemotherapy currently and bringing germs into the house could land him in the hospital? I have been very happy with my experiences at minute clinics in the past but I absolutely will not return here again.

I have used this minute clinic four times this month with my family. I love to have the convenience of being able to get medical care so quickly and they accept most insurances, including Mass Health. It is also an alternative if you do not have insurance because the visit runs around 70.00. I read the previous review and I need to address the concerns. We have been using minute clinic in Cambridge, so, we were familiar with the procedure. I think there needs to be a bigger sign explaining the walk in procedure. There are no receptionists and you must use the sign in kiosk. It is fairly simple as you are only typing in your name and address then clicking on different questions and hitting the next button. You will wait if they are with a patient and it the kiosk will tell you how long the wait. The times that I went, I had no waiting. I did wait yesterday for about 20 minutes. The doctors are really nice – friendly and thorough. This is a very good alternative when you cannot get a doctors appointment or you just want to see if you have strep. I could not get an appointment with my eight year olds pediatrician(?) and she was very ill.(I miss the medical care in Connecticut) at Reliant. I brought her in, she was seen immediately and was treated for a severe ear infection and strep. I would give five stars, but I do believe the sign in process is difficult for some.

I was so happy to find out that they finally opened the Minute Clinic, especially since there are none out this way. I figured no long waits, can see someone on weekends and at night. My hopes and dreams met with reality this morning. To be honest, I could have lived with the wait, if the rest of my visit wasn’t such a disaster. I visited here with my five year old because my doctor’s office was closed today for President’s Day. We walked up to the clinic, the doors were closed and a sign said they were with a patient. With no receptionist and no one to ask, wee found the computer and signed in. When we were done, we were told there was one person ahead of us and our wait would be 40 minutes. A half hour later, that first patient was just walking out. there was a nice older gentleman who had been waiting and did not realize he needed to sign in, I’m not even sure if he knew what a computer was, much less how to use one. Needless to say, I had place to go and people to see and was not going to wait at least another forty minutes, though the computer said my wait was only twenty minutes. There must be a better way to run this thing, like having the nurse update the computer when she’s running late. Maybe rearranging my schedule to see the family doctor isn’t so bad.
