Advanced Animal Emergency

My regular vet was on vacation, and my dog lost a fight with a truck. They were very compassionate and awesome to deal with. They are my new vet.

Took my Lab in late last night after he somehow removed his sutures. It was looking pretty grim from my perspective. 103.6 fever, heavy panting. My son 14 had noticed a gaping hole in his chest cavity where his sutures were supposed to be. The Dr. And staff were WONDERFUL. I was so worried and upset. All the staff were friendly, accommodating and sympathetic. The Dr. addressed both of us and made sure my son and i were comfortable with what was going on and our options for treatment. We were continuously updated on KAM’s status. Needless to say, sx went well and as we left we were assured to call if there were any concerns. The orders were explained thoroughly l. We could not have asked for better treatment or service in our time of need.

I am really shocked about the negative reviews I am seeing regarding Advanced Emergency. I honestly had a really good experience EVERY time I have been there, which unfortunately in my case has been 3 times. Recently I brought my 13 year old german shepherd in to be seen because he was choking on his food at home. He was barely alive when I brought him in. The advanced staff promptly took him into their treatment area to work on him. They knew I was in a panic and helped calm me down and tried to gather as much information from me as they could. When they asked about resuscitation, I about lost it. Which I feel horrible, because I was blubbering like a baby. They were able to clear his throat, but had to give him CPR because he stopped breathing. They were able to bring my baby back to me. They explained what steps they needed to take and gave me a round about estimate on what costs were going to be. Im not dumb, I know its going to be pricey with animal medicine since we don’t have Blue cross for animals, so I thought the cost was going to be off the chart… of course it was high, but thankfully not as high as I had imagined. They explained that we needed to do blood work and xrays and over night care… but advanced was compassionate to my situation. I was lucky enough to have family help with costs, but advanced gave me an option to apply for care credit, but in my situation. im unable to do. They explained why they are unable to do payment plans with me… which I completely understand. I did have to wait a bit for the diagnostics to be done and I know they had a few other very bad emergencies come in while I was there. Its an emergency clinic… what do you expect? I felt all the cases I saw come in, were seen faster than any human emergency hospital. I watched the staff run back and forth and were still able to let me know that they didn’t forget about me and they would give me updates here and there. Aside form my baby Cody, I have brought 2 of my other fur babies here, one for ingesting a cleaner and another for vomiting and diarrhea. Each time the staff was nice and very informative. Ive had to wait for a bit while other more unstable pets had to be seen first… but I totally understand. If it were me in the other persons shoes. bringing in my puppy that was hit by a car or biten by another dog and bleeding everywhere… OF COURSE THEY SHOULD BE SEEN FIRST. It blows my mind away that many people don’t get that. I feel bad for the advanced staff. I feel they aren’t getting the recognition they should. They are amazing people and not many people can do the job you do. You’re there for us on holidays and at night. You should be receiving more positive messages. But those who are upset and feel they had a bad experience will shout their opinion to 10x more people than those who’ve had a great experience. There are many of us who appreciate you and you’re work. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for not only saving 1 of my pets lives, but 3!-Cody, Frankie and Harvey.

Stay away arrived at 11:40 no one at the front desk one person waiting in the lobby carried our 90lb Doberman who couldn’t walk and was having a hard time breathing vomiting not eating shaking only communication from the counter girl was who is his primary vet? No inspection of the dog no other questions. Next comes another dog with blood flowing out of its mouth all over floor and on front counter wall they take him to a holding room and after 10 – 15 minutes customer asks counter employee for some towels to cover up blood on the waiting room floor «I’ll just mop it up» well another 20 minutes goes by blood still all over floor and lobby desk. I start searching for other options and my wife says cancel us we’re going somewhere else response «OK». I know very well that employees are the face of a company with the lack of compassion this staff has my suggestion I recommend driving faster to anywhere else. The end result was my dog had GDV «bloat» and was in serious pain his stomach was twisted and had to be put down. Ended up at Blue Pearl which the entire operation was top notch and the whole staff from the Front counter, Dr, and ER assistant were all very compassionate and caring.
