David has long been committed to serving the disadvantaged and fighting for justice. David received his law degree in 2009 from University of Tennessee College of Law with a certificate from UT’s prestigious Center for Entrepreneurial Law. He worked for Chattanooga firm Eric Buchanan & Associates as a law clerk in 2008-10, fighting for the rights of disability insurance and Social Security claimants, and has been licensed to practice law in Tennessee since 2010 and focuses on criminal defense, family law, and personal bankruptcy.

Business Owner
While in law school, David worked in the UT Legal Clinic, advising non-profit organizations on legal issues. He was a member of the Tennessee Law Review and the Knoxville chapter of the American Inns of Court. David also served on the executive board of UT Law Women to help promote opportunities for women in the legal profession.
Prior to law school, David Veazey spent four years in Moscow, Russia, working as Senior Adviser to AIDS Foundation East-West, dedicated to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the countries of the former Soviet Union. He had previously worked for Doctors Without Borders in New York, helping ensure that people in less-developed countries receive access to essential medicines. David graduated with a B.A. from St. John’s College’s Great Books program in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1997 and was awarded an M.A. in Economics from Fordham University in New York in 2002.
