In town with the family for a day, and decided to stop in for dinner. It was exactly as we expected and hoped for. The food was tasty and fresh from the kitchen. Plus 2.50 beers? Yes please. Our younger kids found plenty items of their liking to eat, such as gyoza, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, etc. The usual fare for a place like this. The fried chicken was great and the stuffed mushrooms were fantastic. Skip the unpeeled cooked shrimp, heads, legs and all, as they were mushy. The owner was exceptionally friendly and gracious and very appreciative of our business. We’ll be back any time we’re in Chehalis!

The cleanest buffet I have ever been to… The couple that owns the buffet is so sweet! I would come to this buffet just for the excellent service. Thank you.

A very nice, cheap buffet. Our family enjoyed it! Try the coconut shrimp and peanut butter chicken… YUM! Who knew?

The food at the buffet is regularly filled up and the coconut shrimp was great. The food options were limited and not the full array you’d find in a buffet in a big city. However, given the food in context of the location and the kind hospitality of the new owner Han, this place gets a full five stars.

My wife Grace and I could not find any hotel near Seattle area and have to settle down in a hotel in Chehalis. We want to have some Chinese food and there aren’t many in this town by checking Unilocal. We went to Royal buffet, and without much expectation and just want to fill up our empty stomach. But, we see quite some customers inside the restaurant and immediately know it must be a better restaurant than we expected, and it turns out to be true. I like the hot and sour soup, the coconut shrimp and the kimchi especially. We told the owner that we like the kimchi very much, and the owner told up that the kimchi is made by his wife, and since they are Korean, no wonder it is very authentic. Anyway, in this little town of Chehalis, to have this quality of Chinese food definitely exceeded our expectation, and we recommend Royal buffet to any eaters who are hungry for some Chinese.

They may not have many choices but what they have is good. I love their fresh, I mean fresh salad. Their fruit was sweet as expected. The steak was done just perfect. The dishes were taken away everytime we finished. The place was clean. Oh, their Ice cream was Ice-cream. Very sweet and refreshing. A must try place.

This is a quite little Chinese Buffet that I went to after a trip to Mount St Helens. Although the selection is small, the food is incredibly tasty and inexpensive, I believe it was less then $ 10 a person. Do not let that price tag deter you, it is a small town and they seem to have a constant influx of customers. Everything was straight from the kitchen fresh. They never put too much of one dish out and were attentive to refreshing each dish. Their rice was great and better then the batch rice you usually find at buffets, it was as if I was helping myself to a serving from a plate at a sit down restaurant not only with the rice but the taste and quality of each dish. Again, the selection was limited, but for me at buffets I usually end up not liking how half the dishes taste. Here at Royal Buffet everything was sit down restaurant quality. Except the pizza, which was your typical frozen pizza — and I enjoyed that too lol.

This is perhaps one of the worst Chinese buffets I have ever been to, but it is as much the fault of Lewis County as it is the owners of the buffet. I have only gone her twice and BOTH times, about 2 ½ months a part, I went in, got a table then walked up to the food, of which there are about 16 choices of American Chinese food plus stuff like pizza for the kids, and found that EVERYPIECEOFMEATHASBEENPICKEDOUT. Beefless beef and broccoli, kung pao chicken with no chicken, Vegetables san shrimp. Now the kitchen didn’t make the dishes like that, no sir, one could eye the table of 4 hefty individuals with almost nothing but meat on their plates. I was incredulous, it was ridiculous and I felt delirious because I thought no one had the gall to de meat the buffet. I was wrong and I thought it was an aberration. A second trip over a month later told me that no, this is not some random event, as a completely different table of large protein hoaders were there monopolizing the meat this time. I asked about it. Wouldn’t you? And was told I would have a better time getting there very early or just after lunch. Have you ever been to a buffet at 2pm? Yeah… I have heard that they are serving a mostly protein buffet now but I’ll save my buffet cravings for when I am back in Reno, tyvm.

Me and my wife enjoyed dinner here this weekend. Their foods are really great. Especially chicken katsu over peanut butter sauce, shrimp and egg drop soup. Very good food compare to their price.(9.99 weekend dinner)

Good Americanized food. This is one of the best buffet I have had in a long time especially it has a restaurant like feel and has an open kitchen which is very clean and tidy. I like the food a lot and they have some very nicely cooked dishes coming out from the kitchens every 5 to 10 minutes they have home made like brownies and kimchi. On top of that it’s only $ 9.99 I cannot believe how good the food is with this price.

Well been eating here for over a year now. I would eat food was ok, but the place was dirty. Everything you touched was sticky. I have eaten here twice this week and it must be under new management or ownership because everything is SOOOMUCHBETTER! I no longer stick to the table when I get up. The food is outstanding. The people are so nice and recognize you as a return customer. If you have had a bad experience you need to give this place another try. I am happy for the change that’s for sure…

My daughter and I stopped by here after a visit to her eye doctor in Chehalis. Unilocal reviews say this is a mixed bag and that is exactly what it was. It’s a standard Americanized«Asian» Buffet in a small west coast town. There was the prerequisite Egg Drop Soup and Hot and Sour soup. The Hot and Sour Soup had an odd after taste I couldn’t place. They serve some American food so if you go with little kids with a limited palate, this place will probably work for you. They have a small salad bar, they have Kimchi(Korean). Most of the food is mediocre, but they did have one dish which I liked a lot, Spicy Pork. It was a stir fried pork and vegetable dish with a spice kick and I had seconds of that. The Fried rice was bland(better with a little salt) and the General Tsao’s was not spicy enough. Probably would not go back unless I was in the area, hungry and don’t want to wait for the food to come to me…

I am so confused, is this a Chinese buffet? There’s only a few chuneese items on the buffet, mostly American food, there wasn’t even traditional chineese food. Not to mention, the lack of Chinese people in the building, cooking or eating. I asked for chop sticks to eat with, nope that didn’t happen. Never got a refill on my drink, had about three plates sitting on my table still when I left. I made the poor choice to stop so now I warn you before you even park.

The food was excellent, better than what we had been told to expect. The food was rather greasy, though. It did leave some small puddles of grease on my plate. We were offered drinks but no tea, which was unusual in a Chinese restaurant. I wasn’t too impressed with the amount of actual Chinese food that was offered. I felt like it was mostly American food. The staff was very friendly and the dining room was very clean, although I think they could probably afford to spring for some new tables.

On the way to Portland and too hungry to make it before lunch. Stopped by here to fill up the gas and tried this buffet. I should say it is a ok buffet, with a few dishes quite nice. But there are several«Chinese food» taste quite weird to a Chinese like me. So overally I think it is an ok place to fill up your stomach, but far from places like Madarin buffet or Haiku in Seattle areas.

My son and I stopped while traveling home from New Years with family in WA. Very limited and poorly cooked selection(oily and cold). No soap in men’s bathroom and the floor was slick and needed cleaning. Sorry but one star. Just keep driving if you want better. On the up side service was hood and lunch was $ 7.99 but … Yuck.
