The Home Depot

I came to Home Depot the day after thanksgiving to finish up a surprise kitchen Reno and needed paint for some cabinets. I went over to the paint center and was greeted by Edwin, he was there covering for someone else and had a really long line of customers who needed his attention. Edwin was a sweetheart, treated everyone as if they were the only other customers there. He was diligent, a great multi-​tasker and had a smile on his face despite being understaffed. Thank you Edwin, you made this trip to Home Depot super smooth.

Go to Lowe’s, seriously. Horrible! Absolutely useless customer service. No one knows where anything is. Don’t try calling the store either, you’ll wait online for 20 minutes, just to get passed off to «another department» or they say they’ll call you back and then don’t.

Im a licensed tradesman and I have to purchase here when working in he area. This is hands down one of, if not the WORST home depot in the area. Items are always all over the place. Most unopened items are missing parts. You can count on one hand the TOTAL number of competent employees they have working, and i don’t mean working at one time but employed as a whole. I return items regularly and more often than not they give a hard time because they don’t know their own policies. I LITERALLY know Home Depots return policies better than the employees working the return counter. Ill ask their «specialist» working my trades aisle questions and recommendations purely for humor. The worst part is if i (master license) try and educate them they’ll insist they are right but meanwhile in reality they have zero idea about what they’re talking about. This will and has resulted in a DIY homeowner ruining their own home. If you are on the fence about raising the minimum wage to$ 15 an hour, spend some time in here and you’ll hands down be against it because they have no business being paid a larger amount. They’re probably already overpaid compared to the skills and intelligence they possess in the first place. The majority need a calculator to count to 10. Its sad but it is what it is. Don’t expect much when going here if your looking for any type of help.

Can I give it a negative star? Yes I can but not on Unilocal.I went in a few weeks ago to rent some machines and waited for the guy to come in from his smoking break 20 mins later standing there he walks in with a new lite up cigarette and doesn’t even say hi or think oh jeez I got a customer? Nothing blows smoke towards me and says «ya? You looking for something? Haha my response was «no I just like to come an stand here in 90 degree weather and watch you smoke.» This place has the worst the manager wouldn’t come out to talk to me. I have called serval times asking for a regional number or corporate number but nothing. No return calls no follow up. I own multiple buildings I did do a lot of business with them but this location needs new management never nothing in stock worst employees and to put the cherry on it managers all suck! And look at you as of your trash because it’s Chelsea. I hope they change there ways. A new class of people are moving in an they will piss the wrongs off. Good luck and hope you make the necessary changes needed. Lowes won 100k a year in my business.

Absolutely terrible customer service and management. Bought an air conditioner on the web site for in store pick up. The website said there was 1 in stock so I drove to go pick it up after placing my order. I get to the store and the guy went to go get it but lo and behold they don’t have that item. They tried to tell me that this is typical for when it says 1 left in stock but I explained that I did indeed buy it online and that it should be there. I would in the very least expect an apology or a small discount for my troubles. They even told me that the unit I bought was from last year so there was no way they would have it! Are you serious? Why and how am I buying it online from your store then? And why is it listed as in stock available for in store pickup?
They offered me an alternative product that I did not want. There was a reason why I scoured all the Home Depot stores and websites for this particular unit. The Custer service girl had no idea how to handle the situation and the manager would not come out to talk to me after she called him in his office twice. His attitude was basically «too bad. «All the employees were super distracted and nobody seemed to care.
The entire experience was unprofessional and I will not be going to this Home Depot again. (I have had good experiences at other locations)
Be sure to call beforehand or make sure than are plenty of units in stock before wasting your time driving to a Home Depot for pick up.

This Home Depot has the worst customer service. It doesn’t matter how many employees I walk by, or walk by me while I am in the aisle. Not even an acknowledgement or simple hello. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. It’s nice to see that the employees are getting along so well and conversing with each other, I guess that’s what they are paid for.

I thought when you work at a place you’re supposed to know your job I knew more about the stuff then the people that were working there and like everyone says everyone walks around like they’re pissed off and if you ask them they run away or don’t know they walk around like it’s a hang out

My family ordered a bulkhead door for our house. Following the websites suggestion, we called the store an hour and a half ahead of time so that our item was ready. When we arrived at customer service, we were told they needed to find the item. Weird, because we called an hour and a half ago, and there was plenty of employees working. But hey, mistakes happen sometimes. 45 mins later, we finally get our item. Ok, mistakes happen, but 2 hours and 15 minutes to find a door is a little crazy.
The employee who brought the door out to the truck was nice though, so at least there’s that.

Just like any other home depot you’ve probably visited in your life. They do a good job of keeping things stocked, clean and have enough people around to help you out if you had any questions. I’ve had no issues with this location.

I called and asked about 5 for $ 10 for tomatoes plants and I was told that they have it … After I put everything together at check out I was told that it expired that night before :(((
Never return to Home Depot

Personally, I never had an issue at this location and they seem to have more items in stock than other locations. It’s also less busy than other stores in the area, which makes getting in and out easier.

As far as Home Depot’s go this one is always under stocked, out of stock, misplaced stock. I shop every category and own multiple properties and am always frustrated at the level of ineptitude this particular Home Depot operates at. And I have nothing against bud, but why is it that your paint department always smells like it…
2013 my receipts so far are at 16k but you only get 2k because I drive out of my way to avoid the inevitable drama this HD creates.
I will keep torturing myself because your right down the street, but I need anxiety meds and a tums before I walk through your doors. Lol (I’m only half serious)

fine store. no real complaints.
I feel like I look around for help for a bit too long while in the store.
I think the guys in the garden department are the best. I have gone in for bags of dirt and they will stack them up in my cart, get it to the register while i keep shopping around for plants, and then load my car up when I am done So helpful!

This is the Home Depot closest to my home and is the most convenient to go to. I am able to find what I need most times on my own, but when I do need assistance I get the attitude from most of the employees that I am bothering them. I have been working retail most of my career and have noticed that most of the employees in this store walk by the customers and do not acknowledge them. The employees are busy doing their assigned tasks and never look up to see the customer.
Management in this store should really take a look at this; maybe they should contact the management at the Saugus Home Depot to find out what to do (I find the opposite, more positive employee and customer interaction at this store.)

Omg, we bought a washer, and had it deliverer and what a night mare the deliver
Broke a pipe In our basement, gets better the delivery guys don’t say a word leave and our basement flooded, well gets better go back to home depot their no help at all, fill out report we did, gets better
We or me and husband said they can wait we called plumber and city got it fixed within hour our city did a great job !!!
Well we been trying to get a refund for that plumbing bill they have no clue but they did send us another washer really, really
To top it all off everytime we go they take the washer and we get another one
GEand sprint delivery ppl are separate from home depot or home cheapo,
Well we went back talk to store manager and they are so confused by all this, ;(
We turned in which I copied recipes for laundromat and loss of clothes and towels gets better cause I buy brand name stuff they said they wouldn’t cover that ok home cheapo, not everyone buys two dollars t– shirts ‚
Any way were handling this a different way thanks to managers that are confused ‚
Just because sprint deleviers is a different company from home cheapo doesn’t mean they don’t have a hand in it they work for home depot for delivers of their products,
So buyer beware if something goes wrong and you don’t have money to fix which I’m glad we did now we need that money back and well take them to court !!!
But they are so not capable of handing the situation and we keep getting new washer go figure they will never have out business ever !!!

I checked online to make sure an item (Oil Turkey Fryer for home brewing) was in stock at the Home Depot I normally would go to and found it was only available at this location so I drove much further than I wanted to.
When I got to the store, I couldn’t see the item anywhere in the appropriate section… they only had «oil-​less» fryers (no good for home brewing) on display. I found the nearest Home Depot employee to help me locate the item I wanted. He was not entirely friendly about it, but at this point I had no complaints. He looked around for a while and with a sigh he went to the computer to look up the item and was annoyed that it was a discontinued item, but they indeed had 3 of them in stock, but where? He spotted a wrapped up pallet of junky looking items (probably all discontinued) all the way on the top of the warehouse-​type shelves; the fryer was on the pallet. He looked at me like «what? you really want me to go get a fork lift, lock down the isle, cut out the item from the plastic wrapped pallet, re-​wrap the pallet, put it back up there… just for a dumb turkey fryer?!» Yes that was all conveyed in the way he looked at me. Of course, I didn’t care how much work it would be, I came all the way here for this one fryer after weeks of monitoring Craigslist for a used one to no avail. He told me to go do other shopping because it would take a while. I was fine with that, and twenty minutes later when he brought the item to me, I was very appreciative and thanked him kindly. He didn’t seem as annoyed when it was all said and done, so the initial rudeness was mitigated after the fact.
At this point my experience was still probably 4 stars. I had a nice old man make me a copy of a key, and I was very pleased with his service.
Oh boy. Then I had to check out. Since I needed a propane tank from the locked area outside, I checked out at the service desk where they do returns and online pickups. I got in line at a register with a nice enough looking lady because the other cashiers were carrying on and looked as if they didn’t care about providing decent service. After being ignored for a minute or two, the lady looks up from her keyboard to acknowledge me. She apologized for making me wait though. Unfortunately she didn’t know the protocol for selling the propane tanks so she directed me to the, you guessed it, rowdy crowd of slacking off cashiers. I would expect the level of service I got maybe at a grocery store with high schoolers for employees, but these people were grown adults and were less professional than even I remember being when I was a grocery store employee in high school! An item I had was missing its tag so instead of calling somebody to look it up or doing it herself, she tried to convince me to buy a similar, but twice as expensive item from a display nearby. «But this one has three of them. Why would you want only one?» She asked, with a confused look on her face, dismissing me as an idiot. Well, «because I only need one garden hose attachment, not an arsenal of garden hose attachments, thank you very much» I thought as I went and found the darn tag myself. She then asked her coworker to go with me to get my propane tank, to which he responded with something like «No. Get it yourself. Your lazy.» And then they carried on a bit and she ended up getting it herself. Again, behavior I would expect from high schoolers, not 30 and 40 year olds. Frankly, and for the lack of a better term, they were trashy. I noticed later that evening, that she also forgot to charge me for an item (~$ 13), but there’s no way I’m ever going there again.
TL;DR: I can’t understate the level of unprofessionalism at checkout. Adults behaving like These two stars are only for the guy who helped me at the key station and the other guy in the grill section.

Home Depot’s can be hit or miss but I can usually find someone competant to help me out at this location. Some poeple who work here look a little rough around the edges but the helpful people I have worked with have made up for it.

This store is a joke. I thought I was on that old MTV show called «Boiling Point»
I was getting a few plumbing items for a small project at my apartment. One of the items was some blue rubber hose that they sell by the foot, or yard or however much you need. I only need a little but decided to cut an extra 2 feet because I wanted to make sure the cashier had a code number to ring in.
The guy at the register didnt believe that I got the hose from there. He was trying to tell me i brought the hose from somewhere else. Then he is telling me I should go back and find it again and show his associate.
Why would anyone bring something in from another and try to pay for it?
After I went and got him the whole box I stopped at the «customer service desk» and explained the situation to the manager on duty. she was nice enough to offer me 10% off the hose.
Original cost of the hose $ 0.84, discount 8 cents.

I really hate this location. Well Ok… I like the location but I hate this store. Its hard to find someone that understands you and in general its hard to find someone, period.
Its never crowded though, so thats a plus and the plaza its in is being built up nicely. I mean… its chelsea… need I say more? Ugh.
