History

Established in 2003.

Started in February 2003 Wood and What-​knots of Character was established to address two primary concerns I had regarding global issues. The first was related to environmental waste as it relates to wood and wood products. The second was focused on issues of world hunger and access to fresh nutritional products in high poverty areas or areas afflicted by starvation due to geograpghical or political strife..

Business Owner

My primary concerns for creating Wood &What-​Knots of Character relates to the conservation of wood supplies through recycling efforts, preserving the heritage of wood workers who have contributed to of development and to explore ways and support world hunger issues.

Over the years activities have included:

The salvaging of structural supplies furniture and cull lumber for reapplication for renewed or repurposed products;

The development of a network of local crafters who utilize like materials;

The design and creation of alternative gardening structures for confined space;

Contributions to local, national and international efforts to address hunger issues
