I got my hair cut and colored here for the first time and it was a real hot and cold experience. The colorist Paige did a perfect job! She listened to what I asked for, did some homework real quick because what I wanted wasn’t easy. She really nailed the color I asked for! Great job Paige!
My Stylest however did not nail it, he started by not listening and hardly looked at the photo I had (a realistic photo for my hair type and length) I had very long hair and mentioned I liked how it had a V shape in the back and that I DO NOT like it cut straight across the back. First thing he does, cut straight across the back. Then it came to my bangs (mine were grown out) and he insisted I didn’t have enough hair for bangs. After I said I don’t care, I want bangs he basically fake cut my hair. This happened for several rounds of «make them shorter» and him fake cutting. So I gave up arguing about my hair. After leaving I have great color but a cut I didn’t ask for. It was a very frustrating experience.

Nilda Ramos is a hair goddess. After frequenting both Suede Salon and Bernards Salon in Marlton I know I’ve finally found my spot. She’s incredibly talented, fun to talk to, and a babe. She’s my go-​to always.
If you ever need color Paige who works there is also so great at her craft! I have a crazy amount of hair and had never colored it previously. Paige spent hours getting my balayage perfect and is the only person I’ll let color my hair.

I just moved to the East coast and I have been actively searching for a decent salon for the past 2 months. When I stumbled upon these reviews I decided to give Essensuals London a try. Thank goodness I did :) They took care of me and made me look beautiful! My hair is more healthy and shiny! Thank you Kellie for the color and Nilda for the cut, blowout and styling. The staff is very nice and they all seem to love what they do. I absolutely LOVE my new hair. I will definitely be back in the future and will recommend this place to others. xox

I’ve been going here for the last few years and while I love Holly and Darrin the lighting is absolutely horrendous. It is overhead retail lighting which is the most unflattering and when getting a hair service I believe we all want to feel and look our best! In addition, I need an entire day when getting my cut/​color. My last cut/​color I arrived at 10:00 a.m. and did not get out of there until 2:30 p.m. I value my weekends and this was just way too long of a time period to get my hair done. I’m not sure if it’s a booking/​scheduling issue as many times the stylists are going back and forth with multiple clients.

By far the best salon I’ve been to! I’ve tried so many high end pricey salons in my life and I never left any of them as satisfied as I did here! I was searching salons for over a month to make sure I make the right choice with such a drastic change & I am so happy and satisfied that I picked this place. Darren is amazing and made me feel so comfortable cutting off my long hair! I had hair up to my lower back it was in good condition but I just needed a change he gave me such a beautiful cut (I posted the pic on here.) Darren explained to me what I have, and what he can do, he gave me options and recommendations then I just closed my eyes and opened them to an amazing new cut! I will definitely be a regular here! Can’t wait for my color appointment now! The staff is all wonderful and sweet I am so glad I picked this place!

The place is nice and clean and very modern. A bit pricier. All employees are very nice.

I decided to give this place another try and I’m glad I did because Nilda did an amazing job on my hair. I could not be happier with how my hair turned out. I finally found a salon that I can commit to!

I have been coming here for a little over 7 months and I have to say, I enjoy my time here and my haircut every time. I was very hesitant at first because I have never stepped out of my comfort zone getting a styled haircut and I have to say Darren was the man to help me out. Great guy, great owners, him and his wife, hard working group of employees. Always greeted with a smile, always take your coat and make you feel comfortable, always offering refreshments or a magazine. I come back and back every time because I feel comfortable in the little bit of one on one time with the stylist. My girlfriend has been here numerous times before and she was actually the one who referred me, she got her hair highlighted here and also a keratin treatment before and looked and felt fabulous. I would highly recommend getting a men’s cut here but one of the male cutters, I have yet to have one of the female employees cut my hair, but I love coming to Darren real nice guy, always has a story to tell! Give them a try!

I was recommended by my younger sister to get my hair done by Darren, and I’m glad I listened to her. I got a «fringe» or bangs I couldn’t be happier with the results. My cut is very modern and chic. I’m coming back for sure.

I was in town visiting some friends and needed a haircut desperately! I usually just go to any local beauty school, because my hair grows like weeds and I’m really not that fussy, since my hair is straight and is usually piled on the top of my head. But this time I wanted something nice and that would last a while for style (as I usually only cut my hair twice a year, max). I took to the source of all things reviewed (Yay Unilocal!) and Essensuals London came up as a great fit in proximity and rating. I read the reviews and was quite excited, even if a bit apprehensive due to the impending price-​tag.
I guess my apprehension was justified, as I experienced one of the longest haircuts of my life. My appointment was for 2:45pm, but I didn’t get into the chair until almost 3:40pm (turned out the client before me was getting color-​correction and it was taking much longer than planned). After the delayed wash and cut, it took them over an HOUR to blow-​dry my hair. I mean, I know I have a good amount of hair, but it should NEVER take that long. Also, the girl cutting my hair was still simultaneously coloring her other client’s hair, so my hair never really had her full attention, which is one of my biggest pet peeves when getting a cut. And half of my blow-​dry was actually done by an assistant, so the stylist could go finish the color on the other gal.
Thankfully, my hair looks great, but the service was very sub-​par. I barely got 1.5 inches trimmed! It should NOT have taken three hours. This is a highly professional salon– not a beauty school. And then the cut STILL cost full price. I definitely value the stylist’s talent, but she most definitely didn’t value my time. There should have been a discount of some sort offered (aside from the 15% New Client discount), in my opinion.
Everyone in the salon seemed very nice and professional, but I found it odd that when they saw one of their coworkers struggling to meet the needs of dually-​booked clients (which is a whole different issue in and of itself), nobody really stepped up to help: I felt like my stylist was a bit stranded, and that left me very stranded.
Perhaps everyone was having an off day or perhaps they didn’t seem too concerned about my opinion since I’m an out-​of-​towner, but either way, I left feeling let down, which is quite the opposite of what I should feel when leaving a nice salon where I just spent roughly $ 75 (after purchasing a $ 20 hair product and the 15% New Client discount).
All that to say, they did a great job with my hair, and all of the other clients seemed very happy, so if you’re looking for talent, this is the place to go; but if you’re looking for service, I cannot say they are my first recommendation.

I heard of this salon through my friend who loves her new haircut and wasn’t sure what to expact when I got there. The salon is gorgeous and made me feel like a I took a mini vacation. The owners are a caring couple from London and made me feel very welcomed. They asked me if I’d like something to drink like tea or coffee in their British accents :) Their staff is trained with on unique hair cutting method unlike any other salon and I loves the results. Amy did not rush me when I asked questions about different lengths and she ask many question to ensure that I left with the style I wanted. I will definitely come back because they cared more about my hair and that I was happy rather than rushing me so that they can work on their next client. There are very busy at peak times so make an appointment in advance! My friend Elena also got her hair cut at this place. She was very impress and already booked her next cut.

thank you groupon. i have been so crazy, insane and busy this spring and i knew i would be in cherry hill yesterday for a bridal shower — so when i saw a groupon for a keratin treatment at essensuals london i paused. it worked with my insane schedule, it worked with my location for the day, it worked with my budget, just i was seriously apprehensive about going to a mall to get my hair done. well — the days of cheesy 80’s mall salons of my childhood are definitely in the past, bc stylist Gail at essensuals london really wowed me.
Gail was super on trend, well dressed and has an adorable personal style that i want to immediately copy! she was well versed on the toni and guy brand and showed me an insanely impressive look book. she took care in making sure my keratin was perfectly applied and spent hours flat ironing my hair meticulously. she did an AMAZING job, and was also super pleasant and fun to talk to. she made the three hour process feel like just an afternoon of gabbing with a friend. she made me feel very comfortable, offered me coffee, tea and water, helped me be at ease, and did a super excellent job. its unreal. actually when i was leaving the mall a little girl in nordstrom actually asked if she could touch my «shiny hair» like that never happens. never. i cant even explain how great my hair looks right now. i’m dying. today is humid and gross and my hair is so shiny and perfect.
the salon itself is beautiful. very trendy and mod. the music is great. and all the staffers are very hip and you just feel cool being in there. you forget you’re at the mall!
anyone debating the current groupon — don’t debate — do it! and def ask for gail — she goes above and beyond and REALLY gets the job done.

Unilocal again steered me in the right direction! After months of avoiding salons or finding the cheapest deal possible, I finally decided to give my hair a little birthday-​week gift.
I headed into the mall around 6 tonight and asked if Essensuals took walk ins. One of the girls replied that they do, but that it’d be an hour-​or-​so wait. Fortunately, I was able to put my name in and simply come back in an hour. I spent the time fruitfully purchasing birthday gifts for my boyfriend (our birthdays are two days apart!) before heading back.
Darren was just phenomenal with my hair. My exact directions were: «I’d just like something different.» Helpful, I know. He pulled out a hefty book and showed me the transient style, suggesting it would be a good fit. I agreed.
The whole experience from then on was great. Five inches of tired mane was rightfully chopped off and my hair finally got a real style to it! Plus, Darren took the time to show me different ways of styling it.
Despite the fact that it’s likely the priciest cut I’ve ever purchased, I tacked on a shine spray for an extra $ 15. It just smells too darn good! I couldn’t resist. And, hey, it’s my birthday week!
I’d definitely recommend this salon for special occasions. Like others have said, they don’t rush you, and they’re so meticulous with every strand of your hair. Worth every penny!

I am sooo glad I found this place! I’ve been looking for a stylist for over a year now with no luck. After reading many reviews and looking at all the great «after» photos and finding out that this is a TONI&GUY salon, I felt confident that this was the place to go for color. And I was right! I booked an appointment online with Holly, which was very convenient. Also, being in Cherry Hill mall means they’re open every day. Another plus! Salons can have some weird hours, so it’s nice to know I can go any day of the week if I need to.
After I made the appointment, I received a personal email response from one of the owners, Darren. That gesture made a huge difference! I felt like I was important before I ever set foot in the salon. When I arrived a half hour early, I was greeted immediately by Darren and taken right to Holly. She instantly put me at ease. I had a bad experience at the salon I went to previously and needed a color correction. She explained what she would be doing. It sounded like a process and I new my hair needed serious help, but she made it look so simple. The girl is good! After the wash, Darren blew out my hair and styled it. He explained the products he was using, but it never felt like he was selling. And I especially liked that he gave me advice on the style of cut that would complement me most. Any of the other salons I’ve been to so far in SJ, with the unfortunate experiences I’ve had, I would never trust their opinion. His I did.
Aside from Darren’s and Holly’s expertise, they both did something that none of the other stylists I’ve tried had done. They asked questions and got to know me. Something that should be simple and easy to do, but few people do now. With all the hustle and bustle in today’s world, everyone is too busy to be bothered that we’ve lost that personal connection. It’s nice to see that not everyone has.
I already scheduled for a haircut and I can’t wait ’til my next experience! Thank you both so much!

You’ll get great customer service here including an offer of something to drink and a scalp message when they take you back for a shampoo.
I’ve been to several area salons over the years and this is definitely one of the best. A lot of places have similar prices but the cut and service don’t match what you’re paying for. Here, you’re getting what you pay for.

Love this place!!! I was on travel from Virginia and really needed to have my hair highlighted and cut. I had walked by this store several times and decided to give this place a try boy am I glad. As soon as I arrived Holly greeted me and we talked over what I wanted to have done with my highlights. Darren what can I say wow! He said that he loved working with curly hair and suggested a haircut for me. I’m open to suggestions and told him to go for it. That the only thing that he needed to remember is that I’m a wash and go kind of person. The more that he cut off the more curls that came out. I just love the cut and I will be back that is for sure. My husband just loves the color and cut as well. Thanks for the new look.

Before I start off, I’m not sure if it’s already mentioned on here, but the shop is located on the 2^nd fl, right next to Nordstroms.
Words cannot describe how much I love Darren and Amy (the owners from London). The store and stations are immaculate and the products they use don’t have a strong smell (i.e. the dyes that usually make your nose burn). They pay undivided attention to you and never rush as they perfect your cut. They’re patient.
You get treated like royalty with water/​coffee or tea.
I’ve been there twice now, somewhat unsure of exactly how I wanted my hair styled. Both times, Amy, Darren and Holly (the colorist) made great recommendations. It just seems they can NEVER give bad advice. They’re fashion forward/​modern.
They’re there to please and to give advice/​suggestions. And really, who doesn’t want to listen to Darren and Amy’s accent. Music to my ears!
I HIGHLY recommend Holly for color and the girl whose name escapes me (Stephanie?) that looks like a mix of Emma Stone and Katy Perry for shampoo (I believe she’s a colorist also and has sick red hair). The scalp massages are to die for.
If you want to get all lovey dovey mushy, just ask Darren to see their book from home and where he and Amy got married. Where they lived is breathtaking. I couldn’t understand why they ever left. But once I left that store, I understood why: they’re here to make me beautiful and I’m never ever letting them go! They are worth EVERY penny spent.
