I am so thrilled with this company. I was throwing a Glow in the Dark Grad party and looking for black light rental. I had contacted a few places, but neither were helpful, in my budget, or gave me a great feeling. By pure luck, I discovered this company right in my own town. They were super nice about making suggestions and even sending me with a few extra lights just to make sure I had the effect I was going for.
I know they do set up for big events. Mine was very small compared to what they can do, but they made picking up and dropping off so simple. I spoke to several guys while there and they were all just as nice as the next.
I rarely see companies with integrity and customer service skills these days. This place was professional, courtious, grateful for my business and seemed to genuinely care that my event went the way I wanted. I felt like I wanted to hang out with them and see what magic they pull off.
My son said they do an amazing job at all the high school events they set up. We had commented how good the audio was at graduation, and it turns out they did that event too.
Everyone at my party complimented it and wanted to know how we pulled it off and found so much black light. I cant wait to have another party and call them up again.
As someone who has planned their fair share of big events, I know it can be stressful trying to stay on budget and depend on the service people you hire. I would absolutely trust these guys to help you with an event and do it professionally. Even in their warehouse, the guys looked professional in their work shirts.

I won’t go any where else for black lights, fog, lasers, and music. They have the latest sad the greatest. Friendly group of guys that are lend a hand even if it’s not their job.

My, now wife, and I were looking for a company to do both DJ and lighting for our wedding. We met with a series of vendors before coming to Props FX. We are very glad we didn’t just jump at any vendor. In our research we found the prices for Lighting and DJ combos to be all over the place for pretty much the same service. We met with Ammon and instantly had a personal connection to him and liked what he and his company had to offer. He was more than willing to work with our budget, while still caring about how the venue would like and sound like. We were able to find a happy medium cost-​wise and Ammon did his best to throw in even more than was promised because he cared about how the end product looked and sounded like.
On the wedding day, both my, now wife, loved how everything looked and sounded. We had two rooms in our venue and we discussed having the main dining room feel «warmer.» So Ammon suggested some nice soft pink uplighting along the walls while the other room was more of party room where where the colors were more of a deep purple. In regards to the music, Ammon offered a lot of great suggestions for specific music for different moments of the wedding which was very helpful. Once the dance floor opened, he did a great job of keeping the energy and the party going. He even ended up running the music longer because people kept dancing… a lot of the credit goes to him on that! The last dance of the night was the same song as our first dance… which was a very nice tough. Again, great experience and highly recommended.

Great group of guys. We have been using PropsFX for several years now for everything from small equipment rentals to major events. The guys are always professional and courteous. Brady and Ammon are the types of guys you want to handle your special events.
They are very knowledgeable in the most current music and equipment and are always ready to give suggestions on how best to handle certain ideas. Thanks guys. Keep it up.

I must say as one in the Entertainment Industry I have never been to a party quite like the one PROPS fx just put on. It was truly amazing… They are a great company and I was impressed at how everything came together so smoothly. We had lighting and pipe and draping as well as lounge furniture and crazy screen set ups and these guys put it all together seamlessly. My suggestion is that If you wanna have a great event with all the bells and whistles these guys have the capability to do it and do it well. Great service, Great Event, Awesome Success.

First off, so there is no confusion, hire these guys. Have you done it yet, or do you need more convincing? OK fine, some reasons to hire PropsFX may be in order.
PropsFX are a very professional outfit, they understand how important your wedding day is to you. When we first met with Brady and Ammon they were really keen to understand our needs for our big day while adding their advice and experience to help put us on the right track to making the day run smoothly. If you think the job of the DJ at a wedding is simply to press play on an iPod you are in for a bit of a surprise. Their guidance helped us put together a schedule for our reception that would flow and encourage people to have a lot of fun throughout the evening. They also offer online tools to help you plan your day as well as select the music that will help make your reception everything you want it to be.
On they day Ammon (we only had one of the guys as our wedding was a smaller affair) was at the venue in good time and set up some great lighting for us (the up-​lights they recommended for our room were great, they make such a difference to the space without you really being too aware that they are even there) and was good to go when we wanted to get the reception started.
They took great notice of the sort of music we like and don’t like and put together a playlist that really worked for us. We also had a couple of requests such as adding a game in just after the cake cutting which were incorporated really well.
Some other finer points.
There were no odd lulls or silences which is a cardinal sin too many wedding DJs commit.
Ammon helped the party flow without trying to lead the party. I’ve heard of a few DJs who like to be center of attention rather than helping the party along in the background.
I have heard nightmare stories about drunk DJs upsetting brides and suchlike, neither Brady nor Ammon drink so there is no worries along those lines.
At this point I’m hoping you have PropsFX’s number dialed in your phone and you are ready to make that booking. If so do give them a call, you’ll have made a great choice on the way to having a great wedding.

I’m really surprised to read even a slightly negative review of Brady at Props FX. I hope you’ll take my experience into consideration. We’ve used Props FX for two weddings, and Brady, along with Aman, are wonderful. They create a great party mood, they keep things flowing nicely, they «read» the group and adjust accordingly, and are flexible and receptive to ideas and suggestions. They are very professional in their pre-​event preparation and their day-​of set up as well.
When planning an event, sometimes people don’t think as much about lighting as they do about music, but lighting really sets the mood for the room, and I think it’s a huge part of an event. Props FX created a beautiful atmosphere at both weddings, using different types of lighting and effects, and both were over-​the-​top beautiful! Thanks, guys, for doing such a great job! Hope to use you again for wedding #3 someday!

Brady and Ammon from Props FX are truly amazing. When I heard them at my brothers’ wedding this summer, I knew I had to have them at my winter wedding. They are professional and provide wonderful customer service. Not only was the lighting they did for us picture perfect, but they also made a custom sign for us which the guests raved about. They played all of the music we loved and really kept the guests involved and having a blast. Everything flowed so smoothly and all of our guests were introduced flawlessly. They helped us find the perfect version of our first dance song and truly went above and beyond to make sure our day was wonderful. I can’t say enough amazing things about this company and would definitely refer them over and over again!

Wish I could give a higher rating but I can’t because they botched our parents’ intro at the reception and our first dance song. Hired PropsFX by recommendation of our planner since they could provide lighting and all-​day DJ services at a reasonable rate.
We spoke to Brady on the phone prior to our wedding to pronounce our names and our parents’ names to ensure he got reception intros correct.
So as we’re waiting to make our grand entrances to our massive 300-​person ballroom reception, I hear the music start, then insanely loud speaker-​ripping feedback tears through the room, and the DJ starts playing our first dance song! After a few seconds, he realizes the mistake and switches to the correct song and starts announcing our parents. I assume he didn’t practice pronouncing parent names and ended up saying «Mr & Mrs [Mother’s name] [Last name]» when it should have been «[Father’s name] and [Mother’s name] [Last name]»…or at the very least the more standard «Mr & Mrs [Father’s name] [Last name]»
After that, mine and my husband’s grand entrance goes smoothly, but the DJ did terribly with our first dance. I requested a song that wasn’t in his online song database so I suspect he scrambled to download whatever free version he could find of it. Why would I suspect this? Because had he purchased the song from iTunes or Amazon, it wouldn’t have contained eardrum-​splitting, screeching feedback 3 seconds in. This tells me the DJ not only downloaded some crappy pirated version online, he didn’t even bother to check the song to ensure it was of decent quality. Just needed 3 minutes of quality control work to salvage his reputation. Sloppy and careless.
My friends sent me their YouTube videos of my wedding day and when you get to the first dance, you’re jarred by the terrible screeching feedback before you really hear the song going. Not only that, you also hear my friends whispering comments about how bad it is. What isn’t captured on the video is how completely, fucking pissed I am at that moment. Great, thanks a lot PropsFX.
For all the good things you did well that day, these two events cancel it all out. You *really* can’t mess up grand entrance and first dance. I don’t care about cocktail hour music, I don’t care about dinner background music, and I’d even be lenient with messing up dance party music since people are all liquored up anyways, but really not the grand entrance nor first dance! When all eyes are on you, things have to be perfect.

As an event coordinator, I can say that I’ve worked with my fair share of DJs and MCs, and I have to say that Brady and his crew are right up there amongst the best (believe me, I’ve worked with a few that I’ve literally had to babysit throughout the night, making sure that there aren’t any awkward silences/​breaks between the flow of music, or making announcements or transitions without sounding sheepish or timid). These guys are pros, and I can sincerely vouch for them.
From a logistical point of view, I know I can rely on them to run the flow of our often tightly stitched itinerary, yet also be flexible and professional enough to execute changes in the schedule, seamlessly.
On top of that, they’re a fun group. They definitely know how to get the party going, and are always game for pleasing my clients. Song requests are carried out to a T, and if there are specific songs/​versions of songs that need to be played, they get it done right. Everything is discussed and planned out ahead of time, to ensure that they are ready to go on the day of. Another key quality about them is that they definitely know how to read the crowd, and really set the ambience and mood of the given moment. That’s a true sign of a good DJ, especially if you’re trying to command a tough crowd!
Also, communication is key, and Brady is on top of his emails/​texts like nobody’s business. He’ll reply to you within minutes sometimes! So that puts everyone at ease when they need to be reached.
Their DJing services are top notch, but they also provide other services such as lighting, equipment/​furniture rentals, special effects… the list goes on. That’s a definite bonus, that I can kill so many birds with one stone, when working with PropsFX.
From a professional standpoint, I’ve never had anything but confidence in these guys to get the job done right. I always have a blast working with them, and refer them to my clients regularly.
