Not at all impressed. Do yourself a favor and DONOT waste your money here. I couldn’t believe what happened: My friend ordered a side of French fries and received maybe 8 fries in a bowl…(if there is so little fries that you can count them at a glance, well… you know). It was $ 4! I asked the waiter and he just laughed and ignored us. Couldn’t believe it. It’s unfortunate that businesses still get away with robbery. O well, won’t be going back… worst part about it… that was my friend’s experience… I don’t even want to get into mine…

Only went once and never seemed to need to go back. Food was only so so, service was so so, and it took a crazy long time to get our food on a not busy at all day.

A bit overpriced for what it is. $ 100 for a dinner salad, mediocre shrimp tacos and a Cuban sandwich. The dining room and atmosphere was nice, clean and comfortable. My best friend enjoyed her chicken Caesar salad. The shrimp tacos were bland and boring. As for the chips and salsa served with the tacos, the salad was clearly house made but very garlicky. The chips were overdone, browned and tough. Our other guest said the Cuban sandwich was just OK, nothing special. In summary, a very expensive late-lunch with little effect.

We have been to Lockside many times for breakfast and lunch. I think that it is very reasonably priced for the portion and quality. We haven’t tried their dinner. Their breakfast is delicious… very nice presentation. The servers have always been friendly and taken good care of us.

My husband had the French Quarter pasta which he said was very good but a small portion. I had one of the specials of shrimp stuffed with lump crab meat. It was deep fried with very bland tempura. Presentation was pretty with broccoli over mashed potatoes in the middle. The broccoli was over cooked and had a sweet taste to it from the glaze on the shrimp. Mashed potatoes were a big blob with terrible consistency and too much garlic. Wouldn’t recommend the dish. Ordered the Orange Crush to drink which had very little alcohol. Tasted like watered down orange juice. Since my husband liked his dish would give it another try. Waitress was very friendly and attentive.

We wanted to try this restaurant since it’s conveniently located in Chesapeake, so we went in on Sunday late afternoon. The place was almost empty, only a few other tables were occupied so it was very quiet. The décor is very tasteful and attractive. There is a small bar towards the back and a separate entrance if you’re interested in sitting there and avoiding the front door. We ordered the turkey reuben and the north Carolina barbeque sandwiches. Both came with fries as a side and we also got small salads to start. For such a simple lunch, we were very satisfied. The food was delicious! Prices are reasonable and service was great. Can’t wait to come back sometime for dinner!

We went there a few months ago for lunch and while leaving another review on Unilocal today I remembered I wanted to leave a good review for this restaurant. I got the fish and chips and it was one of the best I have had :) Fair prices

Food is extremely delightful… I had the roasted chicken and the only complaint was the portion, I could of gotten a little more food for the price. Everything else was good. It came with spinach and gingered carrots. The ginger was surprisingly good. My had the grilled shrimp. Her portion size was just right and the shrimp was cooked and season just right.

My wife and I went there for a date night and we’re pleased overall. I had the fish and chips, my wife had the shrimp tacos. The food was great, the portions were generous and we both enjoyed our meals. I would have given 5 stars but I feel it took longer than necessary to get our food and the restaurant wasn’t very busy at the time.

Lockside bar and grill is an all around awesome restaurant. Let me start with the brunch. I have brunch there every Sunday and sometimes Saturday morning. The owner Dustin Hughes is there to greet us with a smile and offer the best bloody Mary’s around for just $ 2.00! My favorite breakfast dish is the stuffed French toast with strawberry sauce and bananas! Lockside offers a great lunch and dinner menu with daily specials as well. The shrimp tempura with the orange horseradish sauce just melts in your mouth. The waitresses there are very friendly and welcoming. Lockside also offers a variety of entertainment like music from local bands and singers as well as comedy nights. The bartender Kelly is always mixing up new drink specials to try. From breakfast to late night. You can’t go wrong with Lockside bar and grill!

Our favorite brunch place. Great food, really nice atmosphere and great Bloody Mary’s. We are never disappointed when we visit Lockside or Vino!

Service sucked. Why do servers expect a big tip for crappy service. The food was sub par. Definitely will not be back.

This is my second time coming here and both times I’ve been impressed. We were a party of 9 and even though we made a reservation it wasn’t needed. We were the only ones there at 4pm on a Saturday. Their appetizers were very tasty. We had the raw oysters, calamari, and the crab artichoke dip. For our entrees, we had the sea scallops and risotto. The risotto was bland but the scallops were seared to perfection. The seafood pasta was great and so were the fish tacos. Service was very attentive, however because they only had one cook our order took a while. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Staff and restaurant are nice. Food was not bad. We had the steak and mahi. Entrees could have had more flavor as we thought it was a bit bland. The rice served with the entrees were really disappointing. It was somewhat soggy and tasted nothing different than from the rice you would boil at home. However, the appetizer– Thai shrimp, I think it was, was very good. The presentation was very nice also. The servers were nice, but could’ve been more enthusiastic. They didn’t seem very happy to be working there. The prices for the food were a little pricey as well. It was my first time there, but won’t be somewhere I’d want to go occasionally or dying for.

Not bad but not great either. Stopped in for Saturday afternoon lunch. They were offering their brunch menu until 3pm. As I did not want breakfast, I really did not have as much choice as I would have liked, especially seafood. I ended up getting the Cubano sandwich and DH got the shrimp dinner. Food was fine(DH thought his portions a bit small). Service was good. But that and two iced teas cost us $ 35 for lunch.

All I can say is that I had the tuna bites and it was probably some of the best I have gotten in a long time! Also tried Jambalya for the first time! All I can say is!

My family and I went here for a pre Mother’s day brunch. First thing, the food. 2 of the 5 people actually enjoyed their food which was french toast and a cheeseburger. My pancakes were tough and another’s grilled chicken under cooked. Our waitress was personable and attentive, fulfilling our various requests throughout our meal. She was a sweet person. What soured the whole experience was our interaction with the manager. My grandmother did not think the fried fish she ordered was fresh and she could not eat her food. She expressed this to our waitress who relayed it to the manager. The manager came over and said there was basically nothing she could do because the food had been eaten. What she was talking about we had no idea because the food was still on the plate, just cut up in the attempt to eat. I guess they wanted to be able to salvage the food if they were going to replace it. A second manager came by with a belligerent attitude and wouldn’t listen to our concerns as customers and walked away as we were still talking. He told us to leave. I’ve never met an employee at a restaurant so flippant and rude. And no accommodation was made on the bill. And my grandmother left hungry. Happy Mother’s day.

Now that I’ve been a couple times, I can safely say I’m quickly becoming a big fan of Lockside! The dinner the hubs and I had this past Friday night was one of the best meals I’ve had in recent memory. We started with the Mahi Bites(a special), which were very lightly fried and came with a delicious spicy mango chutney. Had we not already ordered our dinner, we’d have just ordered a couple more of those plates and called it a meal! Glad we didn’t, though, because the food to follow was amazing! I got the salmon with sautéed spinach and parmesan risotto. The salmon was cooked a PERFECT medium and the risotto was amongst the best I’ve ever tried. It was SO good with that sautéed spinach too! The hubs ordered the Seafood Pasta, which he absolutely devoured. Luckily, I got a bite. The sauce was unbelievable! I could easily go for that on another visit. Against our better judgement, we sided with our inner(and outer) fat kids and ordered a dessert — bread pudding. The ONLY thing that would’ve made it better was if it was a little less dense. It was also not quite warmed all the way through, but hey fixed that for us! Had it been moister and warmed through(to be fair, that sucker was HUGE), I’d be sitting here trying to give this place six stars where there’s only up to 5 to select! They have a really pleasant, on top of it staff. I’d also like to hug whoever made our dinner, because they have the right chefs in their kitchen! It’s funny, the hubs and I have lived around the corner for more than two years, but I’d always been skeptical of stopping in because of some of the reviews I’d read in the past. They must’ve made a change(and a damn good one), because I can’t wait to visit again!

Overpriced. Not that great. The food was mediocre. The service was horrible. I had to get my own glass for my beer after asking my waitress and her never bringing it back. Women should always be given a beer glass with bottled beer. Or at least ask. As my beer got warm I finally walked up to the bar and asked for my own. I had to ask for sauce for my sandwich 2 times and she forgot. The hostess girl was like little shark circling our table waiting and asking if she could take things before we were even done. The tables are way too close together and it feels very cramped. The bar looked like the place to be though. Had a nice island area a large group can hangout at. I won’t go back. Just sayin.
