Xanadu Hair Salon

Every couple years or so I look to do a major chop off this mane of mine. I wanted to find someone who could do a good cut as well as color while not emptying my bank account. Enter Cailey! I actually found her work through Instagram and liked a lot of her cuts/​styles so I called to set up a consultation, which was free. At the consultation she was really friendly and asked me questions about my hair and my expectations so that together we could be happy with the result. i left feeling very comfortable and was excited for the next step.
The day of, I arrived with my boyfriend in tow and she went to work. First she went through what we were going to be doing and gave me the price upfront, which I really appreciated. You never wanna be the awkward one that asks for all these things and then find out it’s too expensive and have to back out. Anyway so the appointment took almost 3 hours, but in that time she was attentive, friendly, and kept the conversation going evne with all of my boyfriends questions. the end result was exactly what I wanted. Looks nice and I don’t have to put a lot of effort into it. So, no complaints!
The salon itself is really pretty and upscale. They have different levels of hair stylists and can fit pretty much anyone’s budget. This is definitely a great place to go if you’re looking to spruce up your hairdo! They also offer facials and other beauty treatments as well if you’re looking for the whole package kinda thing :)

I went in for a haircut, and explained to the stylist what I wanted. I ended up with completely blunt bangs after I told her that I wanted my bangs and haircut to frame my face. She didn’t listen to me and the entire time she was pushing really hard to sell me their exclusive products. I don’t care about that stuff if my hair looks ridiculous. I’m not happy with the service I received and I will not be returning.

This salon is the best around. I had my haircut today and my experience was amazing. I never walk out of a salon loving my hair until today. If you are looking for a salon do not look any further. Xanadu Hair Salon will not let you down, ask for Sara, you will get the best haircut you’ve ever had. Her knowledge and personality is far superior then most of the Salons I have experienced and that is a lot. I have curly hair and she knew exactly what to do to make me walk out feeling like a million bucks. Thanks Sara you are truly an exceptional stylist that loves what you do and it shows.

Had ombré and a trim done here. It’s pretty spendy but they are all super sweet and really take their time.

I am so disappointed with this salon.
The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the employees were friendly.
I normally dye my own hair, since my mom was a hair stylist, and showed me how to use developer and all that. It was time for a trim, so I decided to try this salon since one of my co workers went there & her hair looked great.
My hair is really damaged (permed, bleached, and dyed a few times) I wanted to go from a redish brown to blonde. I knew this would take a few appointments. The hair stylist suggested a balayage, so I said okay sure!
She was extremely rough with my hair, even after telling her I was tender headed. I was in tears by the end. It didn’t feel like she put any kind of conditioner in my hair. It was rough and frizzy when I left. The «blonde» now has a pink tint. I also requested to keep as much length as possible, and that surely didn’t happen.
For $ 230 I expected a lot more. I honestly could’ve done a better job myself. I definitely will not be going back.

I’m on a visit home (Chesapeake) for the weekend and wanted a new style but didn’t have anywhere I knew already so I took a shot on Xanadu and I am SO glad I did. Diana listened to my ideas and asked intuitive questions about my style and workplace and had really insightful suggestions about the asymmetrical cut I wanted. Not only is she awesome but I love my cut and it came out exactly how she described to me. I was impressed to see this level of creativity and precision execution at a new Chesapeake salon! (Well they’ve been there two years but it was new to me!)

I just got my hair highlighted by Sophia. She did a beautiful job blending in my gray hair. She also did a nice job cutting it. I’m usually not happy after visiting any hair salon but today I’m thrilled. Yay!

Love this salon! I’ve been looking for a good salon forever and finally I’ve found it. Sophia is great and super knowledge about hair. I’d highly recommend her/​the salon to everyone needing an amazing cut

I went for an eyebrow wax. Alesha was very friendly which put me at ease. It was quick and pretty much pain free. She did great!

I’ve been going to Xanadu for almost two years. The salon is very professional and clean. The stylists are enthusiastic about their work and are continually participating in education opportunities, improving their skills. Highly recommend! Awesome for color and cut!

I’ve been slippin’ on my reviews and this is a shame because this salon is AAAAAMAZING! Not just the salon BUT Timothy Michael, my go to hairstylist A.K.A. my hair soulmate! I came to this salon because the first salon I tried in the area was such a let down and at the time they used the same color line I was used to … (Davines) Xanadu now uses Eufora and I must say, I’m now a lover of this color line and the way Tim uses it!!! I can’t say enough great things about him and I refer him and this salon to anyone that is looking for a simple cut, or a radical new color/​look. I look forward to my visits EVERYTIME and I have a blast catching up the whole time I’m there! Such a relaxed atmosphere and when it comes time to leave, I ALWAYS feel like a million bucks. Take it from me, one of the hardest redheads to please… YOU WON’T BE DISAPOINTED giving this salon AND TIM a try!

Tim «fixed» my hair after Taylor didn’t quite give me what I wanted initially. He did a great job, but it was annoying that I didn’t get what I asked for the first time and had to pay $ 60 to get more blonde. Tim was a pleasure to work with, Taylor could improve her customer service personality. It’s about making a customer happy, at the end of the day.

Everyone working was extremely friendly and very polite on the phone. Making a reservation online was so easy and convenient. I had Cailey cut my hair and she was great! She was so nice to me and easy to talk to. I would definitely go back

Finally… After years of looking I have finally found a wonderful hair salon. Danise cut my hair and it is the best haircut of my life. The business is run very well and there seems to be good camaraderie amongst the staff. They only use all natural products, which I love. Their website is easy to navigate and make appointments on. Give it a try!

Apparently this hair salon does not understand the meaning of an appointment. My wife had a scheduled appointment for a haircut. While we were driving to the hair salon, we received a call from Xanadu and asked my wife to reschedule due to overbooking. This call came within 10 minutes before the appointment. My wife wanted to give them business based on good internet reviews however this was the last time she will ever call them. Good reviews might work for some but in my wife’s case they don’t deserve not even a star.

I stopped in on a Friday for a haircut. I was greeted by staff who were friendly and nice. Their salon is spacious, functional and well appointed. Abby, a self-​professed long hair specialist, cut my short hair very well.

I’ve been searching for a salon ever since moving to the area one year ago. After my appointment tonight with Tara, I think I’ve finally found it.
I had been following the Xanadu Facebook page for awhile. Every so often they will post Last Minute Appointments, which are discounted appointments for that day or the next. I happened to see the post for the appointments right after it was posted and snagged a hair cut and blow dry for $ 25!
I can’t say enough good thing about the salon or my stylist. I love the Davines product line that they carry, my hair smells amazing. I can’t wait to go back for a hair color appointment!

I absolutely LOVE Xanadu. I love in Norfolk and would gladly drive all the way down for even just an eyebrow wax. The girls are so friendly and really listen to what you want. My hair was ruined by box dye and I sat there almost the whole day getting it back to a normal shade and texture. This was totally my fault and I love that they had the patience to cater to my needs and make time for me.

This salon is the BEST salon I have been to in a LONG time. I came in to get my hair colored and they are seriously AMAZING! Super comfortable environment, the staff is super friendly. I had Diana do my hair and she stayed for 2 ½ hours after the closing time (along with another stylish who also stayed late with a client) to make sure my hair color was perfect. I saw two clients leave the salon in the time frame I was there and their hair looked so beautiful. These girls have some great talent. And they also made sure I made it to my car ok, due to it being late.

Since my last visit, I’ve seen Danise and Diana… both are awesome. I loved my hair. Everyone is extremely friendly and warm. And ladies (and men), the Keratin treatment is sooooo worth it. I’ll never go without. This is my salon until the military moves me yet again.
