Nitro Flex Gym

I have been a member since January and all I can say was that the switch from planet fitness was the best decision of my life. I was looking for a daycare and a gym which had classes (both services in which planet fitness does not provide) and I couldn’t be happier with what I found at nitro. For me, hygiene is a must, especially if my child is going to be around. The daycare is clean and the childcare staff are wonderful with my son, who had never been away from me for very long before coming to this gym. I am super anal about showering at the gym so when I saw the showers and bathrooms here I was more than happy with how clean and well kept they were. The equipment is clean, well kept and up to date. I have tried out a few classes and loved every single one of them! Last but not least, there is not one bad thing I can say about the staff at nitro flex. The staff there are wonderful, polite, helpful and extremely welcoming and I have never felt more comfortable at any other gym.

Be very careful if you are thinking about becoming a member. The owner, Steve Tylee, is a loose cannon. He will smile to your face, ask for feedback and then terminate your membership if he doesn’t like your feedback. No kidding, that’s what he did to me and others. I have attended gyms, clubs my whole life and I have never experienced such unprofessionalism. And he did it leaving a voice mail never responding to my calls or voice mails asking for an explanation. His fitness director and select staff members are also rude, immature and make many feel uncomfortable with their behavior. Not the welcoming you would expect at a gym. This is the perfect example of someone who thinks because people in the area have money he can do what he wants. He is in the wrong demographic. He brings all the stereotypes you worry about regarding a gym mentality to a club environment. It is unfortunate because the members are great and several of his staff are excellent but he and his select few ruin the experience for everyone. Many will be leaving, he is just riding the wave of being new at the moment. They change class schedules without notice or feedback from members and then terminate your membership without cause if they ask you for feedback and you disagree with them. Ridiculous! Save your money and piece of mind by finding a gym/​club that treats you with respect and where you can look forward to going everyday. Nitroflex is a loser, big time.

Nitroflex is a great gym not only bc Chester does not have any real places to workout, but it is clean, and most importantly the staff is professional and welcoming from the front desk to the personal trainers… Definitely recommend joining!

Clean gym, great instructors.

The best gym in the area without a doubt! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The hot yoga is studio quality and they offer a variety of other classes. There is such a variety of cardio and lifting machines as well as free weights that there is never a wait. Also, this gym is one of the cleanest I’ve ever been to which reflects the pride the staff has. I highly recommend becoming a member at nitroflex!

Gym is nice. Nothing different than any other gym that I’ve been a member of. The child care workers are very sweet. However, what speaks volumes of this place is the constant attitude. The girls at the front desk are very rude. They have what they call «R.B.F.» at all times. Its been like this from day one — manager isn’t any different, if anything she leads the pack of attitude at all times. I’ve spoken with other gym members who seem to experience the same thing as we do. Yay, we’re not alone. Lol I will say that they make coming to a gym that you pay (alot) for extremely uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate that it’s the most convenient place to go, location wise. Once our contract is up we will definitely be going else where, even if it means paying more or driving a little farther. You’d think a job as simple as customer service is a no brainer but guess not for some. I’d suggest the owner invest in some customer service classes for his front desk employees and crack down on their bad attitudes or else they’ll be driving a lot more members away rather than reeling them in!

Great gym. Signed up in the first pre-​opening month and happy that I did. Clean locker rooms, lots of machines and free weights. Good variety of classes and helpful, pleasant staff. Doesn’t hurt that I live within walking distance, either. I was also an Xercise member, and switched from Gold’s as soon as Nitroflex opened.

Fabulous gym. Perfect size, staff is super friendly and supportive and always working out when not working. The babysitting is so great with kids– had my niece go (was her first time in a kids care and the staff was wonderful!). Classes are challenging and teachers are great. So many options and new combinations– definitely up to speed with new and up awesome workouts. Locker rooms and showers are small but beautiful. No need for bigger ones– they do the job and have two two people saunas in each locker room. Café options from local restaurant, outside tables, sitting area upstairs, and a full massage and facial/​etc area! Awesome spin bikes– real riders. Hot yoga les mills and even a surfset great class. Even have teen night on Friday with themes. Highly recommend.

After Xercise closed down in Chester a couple years ago, there’s been a lack of gym options in the area. Nitroflex fills the gap, and THEN some. The facilities are wonderful, and the staff as always friendly and helpful. They have a lot of different membership options so you can test the gym out for a day, or even a month, before signing up. If you sign up after your first day, they waive the $ 15 one-​day pass which is awesome. They also include a free personal training session with membership to help you start out. You can tell the machines are new, and it really makes a difference in your workout.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars out of 5 is because the class schedule provided is somewhat misleading and some of the instructors seem like they could be a little more experienced. I wish more classes were later in the evening (7pm and on) since I don’t get home until 7 and one of the reasons I joined was for the variety of classes they offer. But I understand that Chester area is catering to a lot of families and people who may not work out at those later times, so it’s understandable.
Overall, great gym in the area to fill a much needed void. If you’re looking for a place in the area I would check it out
