We have used this Optometrist for eye glasses and contacts. Before I write my review, I want you to know that I am a retired Optical Laboratory Specialist for the United States Army and a disabled/retired paramedic and have been around many medical professionals. I feel I have a medical/professional background to write a review that might be useful. Our first visit I found the staff to be short/off putting. I dismissed this because everyone has bad days. My teenage son decided that he wanted to get contacts. I made the appointment and all was well. Until the appointment. Once again the staff was extremely short. The optometrist was short even irritated that might son was shy and didn’t know what to expect. The contact did not go in, the couple of times the optometrist tried. The Dr. Seemed frustrated and took him into the lobby and said, «here, you need to practice.» I explained he has never had anyone touch his eye, could u give him a second. A female employee the stated to me, «what are you going to do, hold his hand his when he goes to school too!» This to my teenage son and myself in front of a crowded lobby that included people he attends class with. My son buried his head. My son asked me to leave because he knew I was upset and he WANTED contacts. I left. I returned an hour later to find my son struggling to get a contact into his right eye. The eye was almost swollen shut because he had been wrenching on that right eye only to get a contact in. He had blown his nose and continued trying to put the right lens in. I was done. The employee who was supposed to be training him just sat there without saying a word. I explained the eye was too irritated for an exam now and and individual MUST wash their hands every time before handling your lenses if you blow your nose!!! Basic contact lens care 101. It takes a lot for me to give any medical establishment a bad review. I truly understand the ramifications. That is why this one is s DEFINITEMUST. If you have a young/adolescent getting eyeglasses/contacts. I would NOT use this location on 23 Mile Rd and the corner of Sass Rd.
