The Home Depot

My Mom ordered $ 5,200.00 in granite counter tops from Home Depot with Tile & Stone Works as the subcontractor. All went well until the day of installation which has been an extremely disappointing experience. Tile & Stone Works arrived 2.5 hours late and only dropped off half the counter tops. The installers told us that the sink that we gave them 3 weeks ago has a crack in it and we need a new sink. We could not see a crack in the sink, but we took their word and ran to the store and exchanged the sink in 15 minutes, but the installers left. Now they will not come back until Monday (today is a Friday). Meanwhile, my husband (who tore out the counter tops yesterday and was planning to re-​plumb the sink today) and I have to leave to drive home, a 2 day drive, because I have to be back to work on Monday. Calls to Home Depot and to Tile & Stone Works pleading for them to at least drop off the remaining granite counter top so my husband can build a temporary sink for my Mom until the installation can be completed have been met with «sorry, no can do, the installers are on another job and have another job after that.» from Tile and Stone Works. Meanwhile, the representative from Home Depot went home and left a note for someone else to call us and tell us the same thing. Now my Mom has to find and pay for a plumber to install the sink on Monday because we cannot stay any longer. We are all very disappointed and had hoped that someone at either Home Depot or Tile & Stone Works would be more sympathetic. Our predicament has fallen on deaf ears, and no one has offered anything to make it right.
UPDATE — Great news Home Depot has been awesome! They sent a plumber out to install my Mom’s sink and he did a great job! They have also called several times to be sure everything is OK and that everything meets with her satisfaction. We are very happy! Thank you Home Depot for your caring and attention to this matter!

I was very disappointed in the paint department. I brought in a sample and asked the guy to match it exactly as I was going to cover up marks on the wall. He obviously did not know his job
First of all he left me waiting three times when I went back to the desk to get my paint. Finally on the third time I went back to he counter… after about 20 minutes… he said «I could not mix your paint because I did not know what grade you wanted». He could have said that the first time I was there. Now I wasted 20 minutes. I confirmed it was flat paint not gloss.
When I asked what the grade of paint was compared to the cheaper one he said «It covers up marks better». That was so wrong. … It does not cover marks better… what it does is it makes it easier for marks to be wiped off the wall. I was told this when I went back by a different sales person.
When I put it on the wall it was gloss. After doing my entire home with blotches of shinny paint I was back to the store.
They of course exchanged the paint for flat paint. I have to do the job all over again. I hope it covers this time.
They need to get more qualified sales people at this store. Painting is a huge job and not something you want to repeat right after you completed the job. I will go to another store for my paint next time.

Someone made fraudulant charges with my debit card in this store. I provided them with the time and date and they won’t even look at the video camera. They claim that they can’t legally look at the tape but then why do they have it in the first place if they can’t use it? We all know that they use it to prosecute shoplifters in order to protect themselves. They should look a the tape and protect me, their customer, whose card info was stolen from Home Depot and then used in a Home Depot store. I will never shop at Home Depot again. I invite you to do the same.

Admittedly, I don’t get in here often. But when I do, they seem to have whatever it is that I am looking for.
This store is always clean and organized, with friendly and helpful staff always available for assistance.
One detractor is the proliferation of the self-​check-​outs. I prefer to complete my purchases with a real live person, so this visit I had to walk down to the Contractor’s area to utilize the only register that was open with a cashier.

The Big Box lumber store. They have everything! This visit, the staff was very helpful, and everyone said hello. What a difference from the last visit.
