I have been going to Dr. Varano for 10 years off and on. He is the best! I put off going to get botox again but WOW! Incredible! Will never make that mistake again. I feel like a million dollars after leaving there!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Drew Varano, his staff and my experience at Medical Cosmetic Enhancements. I have only been to their Mst nw location, and the staff is very personable and friendly. I have had two laser lipo procedures: stomach and arms, plus some laser hair removal. I like Dr Varano’s straight forward manner of communicating and his general, friendly demeanor. I think he does a good job of setting you up with realistic and feasible expecations.
I am very happy with the results of both procedures (however I am still healing from both as healing can take up to 6 months). The laser lipo procedure gave me the results I was hoping for, a flatter stomach after years of never having been able to get rid of my belly (plus I can finally wear tight dresses, which I always felt so uncomfortable in before) and now hopefully smaller arms to show off all the weight work I do on a weekly basis. I wouldn’t recommend this surgery as a weight loss tool, and neither would Dr Varano (I don’t think), but it is a great way to get rid of the extra fat that dieting and exercise isn’t getting rid of. The surgery itself is uncomfortable during certain parts, and the first day or two of healing isn’t that pleasant; however it’s not that bad and you really can resume normal life after a couple of days (my recovery was MUCH faster for the arms compared with the stomach). The payoff of the results is totally worth the discomfort of the surgery!!! Plus Dr Varano has plenty of before and after pictures so you can see what your results could be.
Overall, I highly recommend Dr Varano, his staff, and the procedures they offer! Plus their costs are affordable for this type of procedure compared with local competitors.

Best place for cosmetic procedures in the DC metro area. Hands down.

I purchased the living social deals for laser hair removal and microdermabrasion. I didn’t read the fine print that they all had to be used prior to the expiration, as the last one I had just needed to be started by the expiration. However, the receptionist was VERY helpful in letting me figure out a way to use up my certificates.
As for the experience, the microdermabrasion didn’t do much at all. It wasn’t even red afterwards. The laser hair removal was terrible. I’ve had multiple experiences with it before, so I knew what to expect. I saw almost minimal almost imperceptible results from it. She didn’t go over the areas adequately or get into the nooks, etc. I might as well have not gone at all. I’ve definitely had better where I’ve seen actual results. I wouldn’t go here again and I’m very disappointed with the results and that I paid money for nothing.

I couldnt be happier with Dr Varano and team. I have been going to MCE for over a year and grow more and more pleased with each visit. First off– it is SO simple to book an appointment online and the staff is so accommodating. I am always right in and out, no long waits. All of that is very important but the highlight is how much my complexion has improved from the microdermabrasion and life is so much easier with the laser hair removal. Yes, the laser hair removal hurts, but going to Dr Varano’s office is painless. I highly recommend… and Im picky!

I have recommended Dr Varano for liposuction, CO2 and fillers to many treatment to friends. He always makes himself available for questions (critical if there is a concern) and is clinically very talented. He has an amazing medical staff — Allison has performed thermage and I had great results. Emmanuelle is extremely responsive and runs the office as efficiently as I have seen. I would say this is a fantastic choice to anyone looking to explore cosmetic treatment options.

They don’t numb the area before performing laser hair removal so its quite painful. Every other place I’ve been to has given me that option. I didn’t think Allison did a good job. She uses way too much of I think it’s aloe vera gel, literally about 2 inches high on the treatment area. Like I said I’ve been to many places and no one else creates such a mess. Then she doesn’t get all the nook and crannies of the area being treated. I’m paying good money for this, I want a thorough job where every curve of the skin is hit.

I bought 3 microdermabrasion/​chemical peels from MCE on a Living Social promotion. I always took my appts on weekends so I never saw Dr Varano. Staff was pleasant. Usually I was the only person there so the wait time was no more than 10 minutes for each appt.
I did 1 microdermabrasion and 2 chemical peels. Each appointment was 10 minutes. Based on the original price of $ 200 per session, I was expecting that it would take more time. I inquired with the technician about whether I was getting an abridged service because I bought through Living Social, but she was vague in her response and didn’t seem to know.
The one microderm appt did nothing for me-​my skin was not even red when I left the place. I know that it takes more than one appt to see results which is why I booked 3. However, the next 2 visits I opted for the chemical peel, which I preferred, but was still very short.
It is quite possible that the 10 minute treatment is desirable for most clients, however, for $ 200 a session, I’m taking my business to one of several spa/​centers in the area that will put me a relaxed environment (MCE feels more like the dentist’s office) and a service that is at least 30 minutes for the same price.

I have known Dr. Varano for many years. His office has performed multiple procedures including, Fraxel, Botox and facial fillers. His work is flawless. I’m often mistaken for twenty years younger than my actual age. Not only is Dr. Varano very talented, but he and his staff are very accommodating. He and his staff always take the time to make sure that I am relaxed and comfortable. I’ve been to other offices where I have felt rushed and brushed off, but I’ve never felt that way with Dr. Varano. I have told my friends about Dr. Varano and they have all had good experiences! I would definitely recommend their office.

I purchased the Living Social deal for three sessions of laser hair removal. I have to agree with the others who said that the customer service is somewhat lacking. The office is very pretty and well-​kept.
The first time I went, I was put in the small room with the woman with no medical expertise who explains the entire procedure to you. Now, I was getting my armpits lasered. I am a medium complexioned Indian woman. I don’t go to tanning salons (obviously). And even if I did, I don’t imagine people getting their pits tanned. Despite all of this, she kept repeating over and over and over again: «Do NOT, I repeat NOT, go to tanning beds!!!» I didn’t know what to say. She kept at it. «It will RUIN the ENTIRE PROCEDURE if you go to TANNING BEDS!!» Finally, I just said, «Why would I go to tanning beds? I’m already brown.» And she mumbled something about how when she goes to Hawaii she gets darker than me. Or something.
The receptionist is this strange Easter European lady with a sh! t ton of makeup who barely looks at you or speaks when you enter, and then looks very put out when you tell her when to schedule your next appointment.
The Physician’s Assistant who actually does the procedure on the other hand, was nothing but cordial, informative, and sweet. I don’t know her name, but she was awesome. I never met this infamous Dr. Drew.
So in conclusion, if you want a decent lasering, this place is an alright option. But I’m sure there are places with better social skills.

Met with Dr. Verano and he explained the procedure that I was interested in detail along with other procedures. From the moment I walked in I was very comfortable and was made to feel at ease by his courteous staff.
I’m extremely happy with my results and would recommend Dr. Verano to everyone!

Dr. Drew Varano and his staff are a great team. the offices are very relaxing and the staff is wonderful. Wendy and Allison did my laser hair removals on my bikini and underarms and they were so professional, patient, and accommodating. i have a very low pain tolerance and Wendy and Dr. Varano were very gentle and did everything to make me feel comfortable. time was not an issue either, they took their time with me and i never felt rushed or pressure… a huge plus!!! I just completed my 3^rd session (out of 6) and i can’t wait to go back, literally, because the results are that good! i haven’t had to shave hardly at all– this treatment is so invaluable to me.
If you’re indecisive about getting the treatment done… DO IT! you will not regret it and it only makes your life easier!

Everytime I go, I have to wait for at least 30 minutes (I got a deal online and have one more session to complete). Once, I have to wait almost an hour! The staff is nice but overall, I find it to be a very unprofessional atmosphere.

Extremely poor customer service. The laser hair removal technician misjudged the range of their new laser when she did my brazilian bikini treatment. Because it didn’t extend as far to as she apparently thought it did, my bikini area is now horizontally striped – alternating between smooth hairless bands that the laser swept across, and dark bands with hair where the laser did touch. They have refused to fix this problem unless I pay for another treatment.

I just completed my three Groupon laser treatments. I paid only 185 for them, and it’s a great deal! Now, the first time I went there, it was quite awful, I had to wait for over 30 minutes, and the whole thing seemed extremely disorganized. But it was right after the groupon deal went through, and I suspect the office just didn’t yet have time to get itself together. Also, the first time I came, some strange woman took me to a room and proceeded to try to sell me additional treatments. That was just ridiculous, given that I was just going to try this thing for the first time, and hearing about other treatments and variuos savings was just over the top.
The procedure itself was pretty smooth and quick, minus the pain. Now, I never met «dr Drew» — only the technicians that operate the laser. The place is fine, and if they ever do the groupon deal again, I suggest you go for it — definitely worth it. Also, they now have a new laser in place, and it’s pretty cool and hurts less.
