History
Established in 1990.
In 1990, Dr. Tina Alster opened The Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery as the first private practice in the world exclusively dedicated to advanced laser skin treatments. In 2013, Dr. Tina Alster launched W for Men to address the growing cosmetic and dermatologic needs of men. In 2015, Dr. Alster created a second convenient location in Chevy Chase for her growing patient base.
We have helped to develop specialized laser and other cosmetic techniques, including trials that helped secure FDA approval for technologies and products like Fraxel, Thermage, Botox, CoolSculpting, and Ulthera. We have also devised treatment protocols for these and other devices that are now considered standard in the industry. The doctors and all the professionals at the Institute are committed to realizing the outward and inward changes that dermatologic laser surgery can produce. Thousands of patients have been treated successfully at the Institute using the latest in laser technology.
