Their service is horrible. They are more interested in how many people they can see, opposed to qualify. I will never go again!

Terrible Experience! Went in for Pedicure and French Manicure. One of the worst jobs ever! The pedicure, the polish is on my skin. Left because I was in a hurry, then after an hour, I looked more carefully at my nails. She filed the little toe on an angle! Now, that was a first!
Went back, no sorry, yes they fixed it better, then I kept telling her that the white line is not perfect. She tried to fix and said to me if that’s okay. I am not the professional, she is, so I do not understand why she is asking me. I mean, if you look, you can see that trying to buffer it up is not going to work. Yes, she had and redid it. Talk about my nerves! To have to go back and pay again for parking! Never again!

Had my nails done here for my wedding. Sweet staff, massage chairs, and clean facility. I had never been in before, but they fit me in the same day. Leave it to me to not book an important appointment until the day of!
I got a no chip french manicure, and a few days later it started to peel. I think one of my nails is weak, but I called as soon as it happened, and they fit me in right away to fix it.
I would definitely come back again.

So happy 2×10 is in the neighborhood! They have great service and atmosphere. My mom and I enjoyed pedicures and manicures for my birthday recently and we were able to enjoy the bottle of champagne we brought in. I will be back!

Got a no chip manicure, and it was 35? The women cut my cuticle and I bled, and then after everything is done and I pay, the woman asks if I want to break a bill to give a tip?
No, I already paid 35 $ and now I have a long cut on my finger, why would I give a tip. Maybe if I hadn’t gotten cut and if she took time to wipe the polish from around my cuticles, and if it wasn’t 5 dollars more than all the other places in my location then I’d tip.

Place was clean, people were friendly but… my no-​chip started chipping in 3 days, and started completely peeling off in less than a week. And yes it definitely was a no chip, they did the light, special polish and everything. Go to the nail lounge a few blocks north instead

I will not go back. The tech cut my nails so short, my fingertips hurt for days afterward. She also cut my toe, and never acknowledged the mistake. My friend’s nails were also cut too short which left them unable to be filed into the shape she requested. Stay away unless you have time, money and a pound of flesh to spare.

This is my go-​to place. I love the hand, shoulder and foot rubs! Everyone is friendly, everything is clean, just what you need. Definitely call ahead to see how busy they are.
No-​chips last a long time and are done gently and correctly, although I wish they had more colors to choose from.
Don’t go when you’re hungry — the Food Channel is often on the TV :)

Tina is just the best… I’ve also gotten Euna and the older lady with curly hair. It’s hard to just walk in and get your nails done. Call ahead and ask for Tina!

$ 35 ($ 42 with tip) no chip manicure chipped after one day. Went back after three days and they did fix the two chipped nails. Other nails started chipping and peeling 8 days after manicure. Clearly something was wrong with polish or application. I will not be back which is too bad because the complimentary neck massage is nice.

The woman who did my nails was very sweet, but sadly that is the only nice thing I can say. This is one of the worst manicures I’ve ever had. Nail polish was old and thick, which means it took forever to dry… and since I can’t sit with my hands motionless for 4 hours, I had chips and smudges shortly after leaving. I even asked her if it was too thick to use, but she assured me it was ok. Nails were filed unevenly, polish doesn’t even come close to my cuticles (looks like it’s had almost a week of growing out). Just looks incredibly dull and sad. Sigh. I got the mani less than 24 hours ago and have already taken the polish off. I feel bad writing this because she was so nice, but I will definitely not be back again.

Stopped by on a whim for a manicure tonight, and glad I did!
I beat the evening «rush» and sat down right away with Yuna. She did a great job cleaning up my cuticles (I often don’t go back to places due to them not doing this well) and was very careful with the manicure. I am not sure if the other reviewers had someone else, but I will be asking for Yuna specifically in the future.
I was happy with their wide selection of colors. Everything seemed clean and not too worn down, exactly what I expected from the outside.

I will certainly never go back. Really unfortunate because they are right down the street from my house, have gone to them since I moved here a year ago at least 5 or 6 times. Would have been a regular there. I have given them several opportunities and have been disappointed each time. One time literally was yelled at in a different language, as the women stormed off the manager had to finish my nails. What I did wrong I’ll never know. Also have literally never heard them say thank you after anyone tipped them (and I always tip 20%) and finally this last time they rushed me so much they did mani and pedi at the same time (which was fine) but my nails looked awful. Uneven, hardly cut cuticles even after I asked her to go back and do a better job on them. And a 5 minute shoulder massage is supposed to be included (says so on the description) — they have skipped that for me several times. The staff is just extremely rude in general .I will travel somewhere else to get my nails done from now on. I would not recommend anyone to go there. I certainly hope the business owner sees this review because if they want to keep people coming back they may want to address the poor attitude of the employees.

I’m a regular at this location and have always been content. Until today. My friend and I had reservations for 2 pedicures at 2 pm. The guy couldn’t take us because he «didn’t know it would be so busy.» Huh? I guess reservations are meaningless.

It’s ok. Good Top Chef programming on TV.

Took my wife here for her Birthday mani-​pedi. Service is excellent. My following comment is regarding the pedicure (owners take notice):
The tech had cut a small, thin strip of skin from the inner-​side of the nail of her big toe and not soon after, was getting infected. She went to her podiatrist and she told her next time she goes to not let them use any kind of sharp instrument to work on her nails. Her reason was simple: they are not trained to do such procedures. Her podiatrist doesn’t even let her nail salon use anything other than a nail file. That may be overboard for some of you, but being a podiatrist, she has excellent reason that I’m certain nobody wants to hear. Thankfully the infection wasn’t too bad, but it didn’t come without a few shots to the toe and some more cutting to remove the infection.
Despite the above, it’s a nice place that looks modern and does nails well, meaning no streaks or over-​painting the nail-​to-​cuticle. A reviewer below complained of the dark brown wood/​drab ambience. Just stupid. There are salons that look way worse; just head to any mall and pick one.

If you read the 1 stars here, they are quite consistent, with what I experienced today. This is a backup to Nail Gallery in Bucktown on Damen (so worth the drive with the extras and service if you have the time) as it’s in my neighborhood.
When i first walked in there was no one there being serviced, great. First of all all the nail colors looked like they hadn’t been used in forever. When I sat down with Aya, no where did I see sterilizing solutions for their instruments. File was old, buffer used, and nail equipment worn down. She was to the point, very speedy. While filing my nails, she stabbed me several times with her own nails, and while I told her to file only, and let her clip one that needed it, she started clipping others to get the filing done faster. I actually had to stop her!
Prior to the hand massage they put hand lotion on, she put so much on my hands, the lotion was dripping onto the paper towels below. Then came the neck massage… skip it, unless you want to be in worse shape than you started… I had to stop her as she literally pounded into my shoulder and I now have a kink in my neck.
The capper was when it came time to pay prior to nail application, I paid exactly the amount of the manicure. She came back and said ‘you need me to make more change’ i.e. b/​c i haven’t given any money for a tip. Nope. At this point, it was not earned.
So the nail application completes, I wait til nails dried, and then left… not before being accosted while she was giving a pedicure ‘money for tip?’ So not once, but TWICE was I bullied to give this sub par service extra money. I am a huge fan of the service industry and always tip well for GOOD SERVICE. (ask the folks down in buck town), but I won’t give a dime for the fact of pure entitlement for the fact that I paid for a service, and received poor service.
There are other options in Andersonville on Clark St., I’d say they cannot be any worse than this.

I’ve only recently begun regular nail maintenance, and my regular go-​to is ZaZaZoo in Bucktown. However, as I don’t want to be limited to a time-​consuming commute whenever I need a great mani-​pedi, I decided to expand my mind to trying another place. I chose 2×10 based on the fact that it was named Chicago’s Best of 2014 and was apprehensive after checking out the reviews.
The truth? 2×10 is a good nail salon. Let me tell you why.
I called ahead about two hours for an appointment, which seems like it might be essential on weekends. During the hour I was there they were extremely busy and kept getting walk-​ins, most of whom they told to come back later in the day. I arrived a little early for my appointment and was welcomed right away. They offer a broad selection of OPI and Essie polishes and even do waxing, which I didn’t experience but is nice to know.
My technician, Yuna, was finishing up a mani when I arrived, so I waited a while for her in the massage chair with my feet soaking, which I didn’t mind. Yuna did very good work, which included satisfying foot, hand and shoulder massages. She did not rush the process at all and asked me whether I wanted my nails trimmed or filed, what shapes I wanted, etc. The service was nearly faultless, and I’d definitely recommend coming here if you want a good mani-​pedi at a good price ($ 40).
Where 2×10 falls short is in atmosphere and presentation. The space is very small and the dark brown décor makes it feel cavelike and drab. My suggestion would be to whitewash the whole place (or choose a nice, clean light blue) and get rid of the vases and other decorative items that just add to the cluttered appearance. I think these small changes would do wonders in making the space feel larger and more modern. Also, I am not a fan of a TV in a nail salon — it just adds to the noise. Today during my service the football game was on (with sound) and it detracted from the relaxing environment. No one seemed to be watching it.
Also, many of the bottles of polish had paint all over the outside, and I think this looks a little sloppy. This is the first point of contact that the customer has with the salon, and I think presentation in this area is important.
Is it better than ZaZaZoo? I have to say no. ZaZaZoo is more spacious and attractive, and the service is slightly better in little ways (they offer you a beverage during the service and a pedi includes a stone massage, for example). However, 2×10 is not a bad choice by any means, and is a fine alternative considering the more convenient location for me.

I went back to 2×10 today and was again impressed. It’s the little things when it comes to a good mani/​pedi, and these ladies really pay attention well.
Details:
— The technician didn’t rush through the food or shoulder massages.
— They have added a hot stone massage to the legs, in addition to the exfoliating scrub.
— Hot towels clean your hands and feet of lotion (no awkward walk to a sink for you).
— And… a sign of a really great manicure: the technician used a paintbrush with nail polish remover to clean my nails before applying the base coat, which ensures that your polish will last longer. Nicely done.
They have since added new massage chairs which are less pretty than the colorful cushions, but are probably more comfortable.
I’ll keep coming back for more…

Great little place. I headed over here a couple days ago to mix it up and see if there is another contender for Favorite Pedicure Place besides Magic Nails on Broadway.
This place is it! Friendly nail technician made my toes look flawless. Foot and leg massage AND a shoulder rub while my toes were drying. I was in there for a long time, and it was very relaxing. Friendly, nice owner as well.
The price — $ 30 for a pedicure, is standard. I was there on a Wednesday, and didn’t take advantage of the $ 35 mani/​pedi special, but I will in the future.
Clean shop, and not an overwhelming polish smell. Oh, and they had NEWS on, instead of some insipid chick flick (not to say I don’t enjoy on occasion) playing. For news-​obsessed me, this was a good thing on this day.
I will be back.
