A Better Resume Service

I went to the Tinley Park office.
I spent an exorbitant amount of money on my resume and cover letters. I am applying here and in Florida. I work in a field that is completely over-​saturated and it’s crucial to have a resume that will get attention. I recently lost my job and this is the first time I’ve really had to have a resume to find a job. I was told a professional resume was the way to go. So I went to the Tinely Park office to speak with a professional! I brought in the resume I was using and we discussed changes. Well, I wasn’t really impressed, but again, this is new to me. I have not gotten a single call off this resume, I had better responses from the resume I wrote shortly after losing my job. After showing this to several people in healthcare, I was told it was terrible. I am now searching for someone to write a really good resume.
I would not recommend wasting your time going to this office!

I had an awful experience with this company. First, make sure you ask about pricing upfront before you get swooped into paying their exorbitant prices. Only after they have already given you their «Free» consultation, and they have taken all your information, do you get a price chart and feel obligated to move forward based on the time you have spent. After the resume was completed and ready for my review, any change requests were reluctantly discussed. I sent it to a Recruiter (who showed it to 3 other Recruiters), they told me this was an awful resume and that it made me look «unemployable». I called the number on my invoice 312−372−2622 to speak to a manager and the person on the phone would not give me a name of the person in charge. I was able to get some changes done, but not without a fight and I still don’t feel the resume is unusable. I believe I am not the only one who has had problems with this company based on how they conduct business, slippery at best and even the invoice says «No Refunds».

I’ve been out of work for a couple of years, mostly to take care of a sick relative so I have been out of the loop except for my photography job that I mostly do on weekends. Now that I am trying to get back into the real world work force it seems that my resumes are falling flat. And since I have rewritten mine twice in the last few weeks I was thinking about trying an actual professional service. I have a friend who lives downtown and she suggested this place, saying that they did a pretty good job for her. So I figured why not. What do I have to lose.
However, I wasn’t too sure about the place from the reviews I had been reading here on Unilocal. So I warily went in today with but with an open mind.
From the get go I was treated very well. I came in about an hour before closing and I was figuring that I wouldn’t get much service and found the girl who greeted me very attentive, who explained everything in detail. We sat down and figured out exactly what kind of resume I needed and what goals I had in mind for what kind of a job that I was looking for. She took my old resume and polished it up nicely, giving me a nice cover letter –something I didn’t have before. Sure it set me back a few bucks but that was to be expected. I made sure I scanned and read over everything she had done before she made the final copy. And when I did find a couple of typos I brought them to her attention and she had no problem fixing them for me.
Hopefully this does the trick.
But I am over all happy with the service that they gave me.

I thought they did a great job with my resume. I felt like I received what I paid for. We scheduled an interview and wound up meeting for a second short one so they could get some more information, both were at reasonable, convenient times without any scheduling trouble. I also received the finished product in slightly less time than estimated.
I felt the work itself was very professional. It was also focused towards my field as I had asked. They did a really great job fashioning the information I gave them into a detailed resume (and a cover letter) I’ve been using ever since. Their work was free of any sort of formatting or proofreading errors as well. They are an excellent choice for a resume service in the Chicago area.

I have to agree with the other reviewers. How can they refuse to give you a word document??? I was told when I asked for one, that I could cut and paste my own. Obviously I could, moron, but since I spent hundreds of dollars on a stupid pdf one, I thought you could at least give me the word version. DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

It cost me $ 220 to get a resume that looked pretty nice, but had so many typos I had to call them twice to change them. Then I still went into an interview and had the person tell me that there was a mistake. When I called them to complain, they were condescending, did not offer a refund, and did not care at all that they cost me a job.
Idiots!

I went there, spent hundreds of dollars on a new resume and cover letter. I had to do a HUGE amount of editing, the writer had no special knowledge in the field I was interested in AND when I got it I learned NOTHING uploads a pdf file, so I had to spend an entire day taking the text document and reformatting it. What is the point of paying people money to do this if I have to spend so much time?!
