A concept designed to understand man’s demand for modern grooming style and fashion with respect to his active and hectic lifestyle. Our salon professionals are fully trained and have at least performed hundreds and some thousands of haircuts. General Managers have over 20 years of experience in the salon and spa industry and we are proud of them for they are truly amazing.

A modern ultra-​urban salon designed with an industrial Midwestern interior and furnished with real leather seats and coffee brown shaded stations equipped with modern grooming tools sanitized at all times for obvious health and safety reasons. I’ve been here twice now both with Roxanne cutting my hair, and she does an amazing job! It’s hard to find a stylist who knows how to cut curly hair and she really has a talent at making it look great.

I don’t know if people are being paid to give great reviews or if I’m just being singled out and treated unfairly for whatever reason. After being a customer for the last 3 years and after supporting this place through the slow times, I was encouraged to make an appointment after being turned away a few weeks ago. I then made an appointment today l, only to be put at the back of the line when arriving for my appointment and finally getting in, 30 minutes after my scheduled start. No apology given. All I can say is, this place is unprofessionally run and the stylists have no concept of time. I honestly don’t know how they’re still in business. To go here you’d have to be someone who either has no life and nowhere else to be or be unemployed/​retired. I’ve always tipped well and been patient and understanding. However, I won’t be back after this latest «slap in the face».

I needed a new place. This shop is cool, has reasonable prices and a well-​trained and nice staff. It is very accessible, right off the Irving Park Brown Line stop. Bonus is that it also has some great food nearby!

Found my new haircut place. This place is clean, convenient, friendly, and most importantly, they are really good at cutting hair! Jackie was really nice and she took a genuine interest in my hairstyle and what I wanted. And she cared about getting it right more than most hair cutters I’ve gone to. Rates are reasonable, too. I highly recommend!

Being a new resident of Chicago, I needed to find a good place to get my hair cut. I chose A Sharper Image due to all of the rave reviews here. They did not disappoint. Judith did a wonderful job. She cut my hair to my exact specification, and trimmed my bushy goatee exactly how I wanted it to look. The shop has a nice modern but warm feel to it. They have TVs to watch while your cut is underway. I am looking forward to trying some of their other offerings. The location is so convenient too, just steps from the Irving Park ‘L’ station (Brown Line).

Living in Evanston I now come to the city to see Roxanne at A Sharper Image Salon. After having tried almost all the high end shops where $$ 75 – 90 just for a haircut and wash is the norm for a guy, and getting 45 minutes of snip snipping around my hair and coming away with no distinctive style, I found this salon on Unilocal and was influenced by the ratings. The high end stylists refuse to use a razor when its needed to sculpt the hair. Much to my amazement Roxanne does use a razor to sculpt the hair. You will only be in her chair for about 30 minutes as she is not wasting time trying to fill up an hour to charge $ 75 – 90 for the cut. I’m not going to mention what she charges as you might get the wrong opinion of the quality you will receive. No matter how much you earn it doesn’t pay to pay high costs for mediocre results just for the privilege of being in a high rent stylist shop with some so-​called top name stylist.
Roxanne will listen to how you want your hair cut, not what some high end stylist wants to do to your hair.

After researching a slew of barber shops and salons in the north-​ish area, I decided to get my first haircut in the city at this place, due to its high Unilocal ratings, and because it’s right off the Irving Park Brown Line stop. Although I was late to my appointment (near closing time, at that), Jett was very courteous and understanding. I’ve never really liked my hair cut short, but I decided to take a chance this time, and man am I happy with how I look!!! Jett did an amazing job. They also keep a record of your cut’s traits in case you want the same cut or something different next time. Will definitely come back when I need another shearing.

Roxanne and her team are the best in the city!
Not only do you get a fantastic hair cut but a neck shave that leaves you feeling great… I highly recommend getting the shampoo and warm towel on the face. extremely relaxing after a long week/​day.
I will continue to visit Roxanne and team whenever I need a cut… Also, VERY reasonable prices, no complaints.

Sharper Image Rocks… they have great service and price. Forget about going to Sports Clips and getting a half ass head massage or paying too much and going to Halo. They do a great job like Halo but they are a lot cheaper. Great spot off the El and easy parking.

Oh, just another 5 star review for A Sharper Image.
I pass this place literally every day on the bus and now feel stupid for waiting so long to stop in.
Jett cut my hair and did a phenomenal job. She was great to talk to and the décor of the salon was great. The price was very reasonable. They offer packages of add-​ones beyond the haircut. Do yourself a favor and get a shampoo. Besides a hot towel treatment, there’s music, aromatherapy, and it’s just a nice, relaxing experience. I’ll be back in the usual 4 – 5 weeks!

Get a great haircut and more. Only barber I’ve gone to more than twice. Roxanne won’t let you leave the chair unless it’s perfect. You can find cheaper, but I haven’t found better

This place lives up to the hype! The staff are very friendly and informative — especially to a newcomer. They explained all the services they offered in a way that was helpful and suggestive, but not in any way pushy — which was great. In fact, they made it a point to speak to what my needs might be and simply outlined how I might expand into other services with them — while not having to do it all on my first shot.
The atmosphere is also pretty cool. Comfortable chairs, not crowded, with tvs around to entertain while waiting or during the cut. The prices are reasonable and there are all sorts of deals and promotions to take advantage of. The quality of the haircut is also top tier. Before long into my sitting, Roxanne gleaned more about my head and hair growth than anyone I’ve seen before. Usually, I have to let them know about my preferences or things to be aware of with my hairline, but she spotted them all from jump and catered to the needs of my head/​hair :) It should also be mentioned the complimentary warm neck shave alone is worth going. They have additional services for shampoo and shave, which I’ll be looking in to for future visits.
I’m happy to have found a quality spot that just happens to be right around the corner from me. While I’ll enjoy that perk, others can enjoy it’s super convenient location RIGHT off the Irving Park Brown Line stop.

As the Duke of A Sharper Image Salon and Barber I feel it imperative to let all of my minions know that this is the best haircut in Chicago.
Roxanne is super nice and her prices seriously can’t be beat. Lest we forget though you are here for a haircut, and she always does a great job cutting my beautiful locks whilst I watch TV on the personal TV everyone gets at each station. She knows exactly how I like my hair (sexy) and sees to it I get the same great results every time I go.
She always runs great deals, and you can always drop in for a clean up, which can be helpful for those of us whose hair grows very fast (not complaining).

Roxanne and her staff are great,
To have a hair stylist that is more of perfectionist than myself is rare, and Roxy will not let me get out of the chair until she thinks the haircut is perfect.
I suggest getting the hot towel and shampoo! It is 10 minutes of relaxation that I wished I had everyday.
I suggest making an appointment or calling ahead.

I needed a haircut before a big professional opportunity, and am new to the neighborhood. This was the only full «5-​Star» rated spot in North Center, and they did not disappoint!
Tamara cut my hair, gave me a hot foam neck shave and got me looking good. I have already received 3 compliments and the haircut is 4 hours old.

I’ve received the best haircuts at Sharper Image. I was going to a pretty good salon before but decided to try Sharper Image after my previous hairstylist was unavailable and how lucky was I! The staff is friendly and the ambiance is very cool. It was also very easy to get to since it is located so close to the brown line. Try them out you will not be disappointed.

I’ve been seeing Roxanne for my haircuts for many years. She is wonderful!
The salon is a very relaxed environment! The place itself Invites majority of the male audience but they see women too. Refreshments and popcorn and lots of seating space. First come first server walk ins welcome. I prefer to make an appt. I live in the northern suburbs and travel all the way to Chicago to see Roxanne. All are welcome! Me, the mister, and my kids got our haircuts today.
I highly recommend this place.
